12/16/2021, Applebee's, Macon My first visit to this location. We were immediately seated and our waitress placed our drink order. We decided to just have the 1/2 price appetizers. My friend and I both placed an order for two styles of boneless wings of the same style. We did order different dipping sauces. We also ordered a appetizer of onion rings. About 10 minutes later the waitress brought my order, but not my friends. My order came out correct except the Buffalo wings. It was the mild sauce and not the extra spicy. It took another 5 minutes for my friends order to come out. One of his boneless wings they mixed up the sauce for what style of wings he wanted. We decided not to bother with mentioning anything because we had to get going. The waitress was extremely nice. She brought us drink refill without asking. The wings were perfectly cooked. While the type of wings ordered were incorrect, we still both enjoyed the flavor we hadn't tried. Sadly this type of mix up seems to happen more often thwn not when I visit Applebee's. Change your training, ordering system or something Applebee's because it needs fixed. read more

Admittedly, I'm not a fan of Applebee's in general, but this was an abysmal experience. I didn't expect much, but this was worse than I imagined. Please turn down the music. Again, Please turn down the music. I'm at a restaurant, not a night club. I'm not an old stick in the mud either. I love music, but I prefer being able to hear my dining companions more. The restaurant was dirty, tortilla chips and crumbs strewn all over the carpet. The chicken was beyond overcooked (jerky almost) and the lettuce was so wilted that most of it should have been thrown out. The server did the best she could. She was hustling and asked us numerous times if we needed anything - honestly, to the point of being irritating. I know it's a tough job so my complaint isn't with her. I only gave this one star because I half star was not available. I am normally an awesome tipper-because I have worked in the service industry. Three times I had to get up and go to a bar where there was no bartender to request a refill on my beer. I could understand if the restaurant were packed or they were super slammed or shortstaffed. The quality and flavor of the food was marginal, the wait staff was unskilled, and the alcohol prices are too high. I arrived before my call-in order was ready, so I ordered a draft beer at the bar and make the kitchen aware I was waiting. The waitress packaged the hot entrée and the Caesar salad in one sack and let it sit until I asked about my order again. When she brought it out I paid the bill, discovering a single draft beer cost $6.50, how ridiculous! After the food sat at the restaurant and a short dive home, the salad had wilted to the point it was unpalatable and the chicken & shrimp entrée was bland. At about 9:30 our food arrived...The salad (I f that's what you'd call it) contained very little lettuce, drowned in dressing, croutons and shaved parmesan. The waitress was advised and she asked would I like more lettuce and I told her I'd deal with it as long as the other food was OK. It wasn't...Salad hot and the food cold for both of us. I advised the waitress who advised the manager. She was gone for a few minutes to advise us the manager was coming. He/She did not show and we left however we did pay for our beverages. This Apple Bees has had issues for years but we decided to give it another chance...No More! I do not recommend THIS location to ANYONE!!! Worst experience. The restaurant was not packed. We waited 30 minutes for a draft beer and a cocktail drink. Waitress said it would come out shortly, every time we asked. Party of 4. 3 received food one did not. Once the 4th plate came out the steak smelled and tasted bad. It was supposed to be medium came out well done. Ive always been a fan of Applebees. Their customer service has always been spot on and very courteous. Went with three other people and I simply got the 2 for 20. For such a bargain price you would expect garbage food, but it was truly very good. Well proportioned and we took alot of the food home. Everything in this place gets an A. From the food to the actual theme of the restaurant. After youre finished shopping at the mall, with Ruby Tuesdays out of the picture, hop across the street to the exceptional Applebees. read more

For years I have thought I hated Applebee's. Fleeing Hurricane Matthew, we reached the outskirts of Atlanta tired and hungry. Our waiter, Charles, was fantastic. The food was really great. I had the sweet potato fries with sauces, and the honey barbecue was especially divine. My wife had something fried chicken with onions on potatoes, no idea what it was called, but the quarter of it she didn't eat got smothered in honey barbeque and was soooo good. My daughter, a cheeseburger connoisseur, declared this cheeseburger the greatest cheeseburger ever. There was simply nothing about this experience that could have been better. Worst experience I've had eating out in awhile. Waitress (was not waitress assigned to my table) was rude and unkempt and the manager (Mr. Butts) seems to care less. I will never go there again.
