First time in my life at Applebee's... and definitely not the last -- especially when I'm in this area! I left genuinely wondering why the rating for this location is so low. It was after 11 PM -- super late -- yet I was greeted with such warmth by the lovely bartender, who mentioned she's been with the company for over 25 years. The place instantly felt evan cozier!There was also another lady working that night who was equally kind,sweet and welcoming. When everybody else was closed, Applebee's was there.. Quite hungry after a networking event, we were on the hunt for food. This location is open until midnight so we headed over. Our host, turned server seated us in a comfortable booth. We immediately asked for two hot teas ($3.49 ea.) and decided to go for the 2 for $25 menu, I mean..honestly the whole menu should be 2 for $25 but I digress. Side salads arrived, the food runner was super sweet. I ordered the Burger, sauce on the side, while my Wife ordered the Tenders for an additional $3 up-charge. I thought an up-charge for something found on the kids menu was a bit odd but you know.. when in Rome.. I mean Applebee's. Food was sufficient, well prepared enough. Service was excellent and what really called me to give this location 4 stars. Restrooms were clean. Parking in lot was well lit, in a shared plaza with Petco, and a few other retailers. Service was friendly and high-energy. Took a while to get my drink... Burger was slightly smashed, bun nothing special. Side of garlicky green beans tasted like just green beans. Side of mac n cheese had too much fatty bacon but i picked it all out... garlicky mashed potatoes tasted like regular mashed potatoes. Chocolate lava cake was standard cake and hot frosting. Whoever's working at Applebees right now clearly doesn't know what they're doing. They didn't even close my bag, the safety seal sticker that's supposed to seal it was stuck to the side just holding the receipt. My drink wasn't covered either, so the whole bag was wide open. On top of that, no utensils were included. Anyone could've eaten or drunk out of it. Applebees really needs to start training their staff better, it's not fair to pay full price and get service like this. read more

We came to Applebee's because we hadn't been in a while, and though that it was pretty wild that so many people were there so early in the evening (we were there at about 4:45). We were starving, so we got the buffalo wings to start. Our waiter asked us if we wanted blue cheese or ranch, and even though we asked for ranch, he got us blue cheese instead. We also ordered the honey hot tenders with mac & cheese and the bourbon street chicken & shrimp. The chicken was burnt, so we had the burnt taste in each bite, but was overall okay if you cut off the burnt bits. The waitstaff were nice, but a bit understaffed I think, because it took a while to get us the check and some to-go boxes. Came here 10:30pm on a Saturday night famished. We left Ulster Theater around 10pm and drove to several restaurants where the kitchen was closed WHO closes 10pm on a Saturday night?? If you're from Manhattan don't go to Ulster expecting late night restaurants- you will starve. Bring your own food And you better not expect a night life! There's NONE Needless to say we didn't expect all the restaurants to either be "closed" or "closing soon". We usually like Applbee's, but this evening was not one of those times. Upon arrival, the hostess acted like we were an inconvenience, wasn't pleasant, and didn't make us feel welcome at all. After we were seated, we waited over 15 minutes without any acknowledgement of our existence. We got up and left. Considering I frequent Applebee's at least once a month, I am really disappointed tonight. The bacon on the loaded cheese fries was way undercooked, but the waitress did fix this issue; beer cheese pretzels were good and hot. Fast forward to main course, and the bacon on the chicken sandwich was RAW, and the sandwich had no flavor. My wife's burger was undercooked. The staff disappeared for over 30 minutes, the manager had to bring us our check. If I am paying over $100, I am hoping for decent food. Maybe because it is Mother's Day? Not real pleased. read more

One word: ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING! Where do I start? For one, the fries came out cold cold cold. The fries were cold and had no salt or seasoning on them. I got the all-you-can-eat boneless chicken special, it was only $12.99, so for that low a price, I wasn't expecting Filet Minong, but I wasn't expecting the food to be that low quality and so ineptly prepared. Even the corn chips were stale, very stale. I didn't even complain, I just wanted to get out of there as soon as possible. Was here for lunch yesterday. The food was pretty good everyone in my group liked their chicken sandwhich and appetizers the issue we had was the Service. The waitress like to make decisions for us, I ordered a Blue Wave Beer in a 20 ounce glass and was brought a bottle and a glass and was told sorry we don't have this on tap, so I changed to a Yuengling 20 ounce glass instead of the bottle she decided for me. Then I asked for water she asked with a lemon or no lemon I clearly answered no lemon and it came with a lemon. Waitress never listened to what I asked and kept having to send stuff back. Hope service is better next time I go! As far as the response below from the management team is even as far as Yelp is concerned I can not join their elite team because I remain to be as anonymous as possible. I believe all customer should be treated with respect and should be graded by anonymous shoppers so the company doesn't compensate those who complain with a free meal or discount the next time the complainer comes in. Be transparent here on Yelp and train your staff on communication with a manager to back up waitresses at the time of issue not send emails that the public can't see on how this was resolved behind Yelp eyes. Went for a late night bite to eat 830ish and for people in our area dinners close at 9 so didn't want to keep people late . We go in the place smells like weed / no one at front for 3-4 minutes / get seated order an app wings simple and drinks. Apps were ok then our burger and chicken & pasta came out. Sauce was hard on the pasta / under a heat lamp or bottom of the pot is sauces / chicken was microwaved wife couldn't eat it . Was just nasty . I had a burger and again simple but under cooked by a lot. Waitress looked all messed up got our order wrong on drinks/ Pepsi and a unsweetened tea. Should have known from there it was going to be a cluster . Just saying not going to this place ever again & they wonder why chain restaurants get a bad rap. The one star is for the food which is surprisingly good. We were pleasantly surprised the first time coming here having relocated temporarily to Kingston from Miami. They have a late night menu after 9pm with half off all appetizers. We were coming here after working late at least once a week, and viewed as a treat after working long hours. But the way we were treated tonight is enough to make never want to set foot in here again. After waiting about ten minutes to be seated, I noticed several workers together across the room who didn't seem to notice us even though they looked like they weren't too busy. One went in back and then continued to bus a table in an empty part of the restaurant. The other one was just at the computer. And there was a bartender that wasn't doing much. I went back towards the server at the computer. I said "excuse me" a couple times since I didn't think she heard me as there was no response nor did she look up. On the third attempt she continued in the computer and shouted to me that she was busy. She must've known we were waiting to be seated the whole time. As I walked away, the bartender who saw the whole thing shouted to me if I wanted to order take out. I was so upset at the server's treatment that we just walked out wondering where was the management. Why would someone so rude be in position of dealing with customers. Even though I was really enjoying coming here, I will never again go to this or any other Applebees. We went down the street to Buffalo Wild Wings, which honestly, had inferior ambience and not so great food, but with a very friendly smiling server and attentive host (manager). I stopped in for some adult beverages on a Friday evening. I sat at the bar and ordered a Bloody Mary. Much like my experience at the local Courtyard - the Bloody Mary was served in a smaller glass (Bloody Mary's should be served in a tall highball glass or pint glass). I guess the idea is to skimp on amount of ingredients with a smaller glass, while still charging a premium price for the drink. I realized that after that Bloody Mary I was going to need to drink a whole of of them to even get a little buzz, so I switched to a vodka martini. I asked to see the glass size before ordering. Finally! A normal sized glass. I ordered it slightly dirty with three olives. I asked if they had Blue Cheese stuffed olives. Being Applebee's, it was a ridiculous request on my part, they had no such option. Overall, the martini was strong and well made. My girlfriend and I ordered a chicken penne and lime fiesta chicken. Along with buffalo wings appetizer and a couple of cocktails. The food was pretty good, with the exception of the rice that came with the lime fiesta chicken. It was dry and overcooked. Sean our waiter fixed that right away and came out with a fresh bowl of rice that tasted delicious. Overall I enjoyed the meal, but honestly the highlight was our server Sean. Just a really good dude and made sure to check in to make sure all was good. I'd definitely recommend this Applebee's if you're in the area. read more

Our waiter had made us feel truly comfortable by creating a safe environment. Each time he would approach the table, he would say "pardon me", recognizing the customer may very well have been in an important conversation, and he wanted to give a heads up before interrupting. I found this to be very polite, something you don't seem to find much anymore. Nearing the end of our visit, we recognized that our history teacher is featured on the wall. Thrilled by this news, we wanted our picture with this mural. We decided to turn to no other than our waiter, Sam. He thought it was hilarious, making us feel far from judged. They simply just do not have tasty food at all...Comparing with other franchised restaurants like Chili's, TGI Friday etc...in the area, Applebees is the worst ever. And I have to say of all the Applebee's locations, this could be one of the worst too. I have tried three cheese chicken penne, orange chicken bowl, another pasta (forgot what it was) and some dessert....I found none of them were good. The only thing was good at the restaurant was Shrimp Spinach Salad. Just avoid applebees if you can. I have been there 5 times but none of the times I went there was my choice obviously. This is what I received for lemon chicken mac and cheese and did not eat any of it before taking the picture. I asked for it in a to go container as it was 17 minutes passed when I got my 1st part of a lunch combo. The server was pleasant tried to do what he could. Then to make things worse I got charged for extra chicken $4.49. I said "the chicken was part of it". The extra was removed but the manager never came out to see if the customer was happy or what she could do. I was told her name was Valerie. I have not been to this Applebee's in over a year, because frankly the last time I was here, it sucked, and I might have given it two stars only because the waitress was hot. This time, however, it is much improved. I ordered the trio appetizer for lunch, since I can try different things, and it is a full lunch for one person. I got the boneless buffalo wings, the cheeseburger sliders, and the steak quesadilla tower. The wings were nicely crispy, and the sauce has a slow burn to it. The sliders were hot, the buns are cooked onsite, and nicely fresh. I would have liked either some tomato or onion slices instead of the finely diced onion that was on them. The steak tower quesadilla is just a steak wrap with some cheese and seasonings, then cut in half and stood on end. Cheese was gooey, the steak was fairly tender, and the wrap was soft. Overall, the only reason I didn't give 4 stars was because the last visit rated 2 stars for the hot waitress, and they need another good experience for me before I bump them above three stars. read more

I finally had my next chance to come here today. Although I still come in from time to time, I decided I had to run a take-out order and that's exactly what happened. When I ordered through the Applebee's app, the app told me it was about to be ready at 1:48pm, and I had gotten there several minutes before. I waited on the benches outside the place until the 1:48pm time came and headed in. When I mentioned to the server at the door that I had a pickup order, I was quickly told that for these types of orders to head to the bar area to pick up the items. I almost tripped going down the stairs - it's dark and having had Transitions lenses in my eyeglasses, I couldn't see the last step (my glasses didn't adjust back soon enough). I caught myself and realized there could be one, but I felt the slight trip at the end. I walked over to the bar and was quickly assisted by the bar-woman what my problem was. I mentioned. I had a chocolate shake as well as a burger & fries and even a brownie desert coming, and although the employee had just gotten around to making the shake order just as I got there, when it came to getting the rest of the products to me, I felt like they were intentionally delaying the pickup. On top of the 15 minute pickup time the app said it would be done by, their serving time and the employees pickup from the serving line in back, this added an additional 10 minutes (apparently, not too punctual here). Food however, was okay. Wasn't thrilled that you used pepper on the fries (and wasn't expecting it to come out with that) nor was it ever mentioned that it would come out that way in-app, however, burger was okay. Was expecting there to be a Medium-rare setting, but the two settings I saw was more than medium rare(rarer side of medium rare(pink), along with well done (no pink) of which I wasn't thrilled at either choice.) The shake however, tasted swell and I loved the richness of the chocolate milk and ice cream. The employee told me they were just at the borderline of running out of the shake and decided to slightly up the amount of shake into the cup, and added whipped cream for effect. That whole thing was very interesting. What happened to presentation? This time, presentation was not well-received. I mean, it's clean in the bag, but so many minor mistakes added up ending in a disastrous ending. I'll probably be back (just to try some other things), but you need to fix some of these mistakes and QUICK! read more
