Stopped in for dinner tonight in our way home from lansing. We were immediately sat and greeted by our server. She was very attentive and an excellent server. We could see her running food and helping others well we were there. My husband got a beer and I got the strawberry lemonade. We ordered mozzarella sticks for an appetizer, they came out very fast and met expectations. Husband ordered a quesadilla burger and loved it! Very messy but worth it. 9/10 I got the french onion soup and a caesar salad. Love the salads because they are always so fresh! This Applebee's location stands out and above most others we've patronized. We just like the variety of the menu items and changes they roll out for market testing. Love the Chic Parm and the new Cheeseburger Wontons. Yesterday we got curbside to go and everything was perfect! Fiesta Lime chicken and the very tender ribs. They were very busy as usual. After the disastrous attempt to eat here back in 2019 I decided to give it another shot when my aunt suggested eating there. The service was pretty good, and so was the food. I got the Southwest Chicken Bowl (my favorite) and it was pretty good. The chicken was nice and juicy and the toppings were all good. Well, all but the chimichurri, that was too hot for me. Very friendly small town service and inviting atmosphere. The food was as expected for an Applebee's - which in general I find a bit heavy and smothered in all kinds of sauces, butters, and naughty stuff that doesn't help you squeeze back into those pre-quarantine pants. I got the Perfect Margarita. It came in the shaker with a strainer, and an empty martini glass with half a rim of iodized table salt. We got dirty water once, when asked for a different glass we were told "that's just how water is here" the servers get the food and drinks wrong on a normal basis, and to top it off we went last night for the last time to give it another chance and got food poisoning. Went to ionia restaurant yesterday, my steak was so pink looked bloody, took about 7 minutes to get my drink, and the salad why do you dice the tomatoes and cucumbers so darn tiny? And really no Italian dressing? Thsts like a major dressing people use. We will not go here again. read more

I recently dined at the Applebee's in Ionia. The food was ok, not great, but it was edible. The level of professionalism and knowledge of the staff and the food at Applebee's has declined greatly over the last few years in the professionalism and knowledge of their staff and quality of the food they serve while jacking up their prices. While the food was good, (again) not great, I would happily dine at the Applebee's in Ionia as Sheri, my server, was amazing. She was friendly, helpful, and patient answering all my questions. She brought a refreshing air of professionalism with her service and choice of casual black dress pants (instead of the all too often opted for jeans in this industry). My observation was that Sheri was very knowledgeable about her job (she mentioned she has worked for Applebee's for a while and at a couple of different locations), she cares about her job and performing her duties to the best of her ability, and genuinely wants her customers to have a wonderful experience when choosing Applebee's. I am leaving this review and giving it 5 stars because of Sheri's phenomenal service. My past experience at this particular Applebee's location left me with the feeling that I should not leave a review because my mother always told me, "if you don't have anything nice to say, then you shouldn't say anything at all." If you choose to dine at this location, I would highly recommend asking to be seated in Sheri's section. You will be grateful that you did. read more

Our server was Alyssa and she was horrible. We were seated for 20 mins without service and when she came to get our drinks we already know what we wanted. Only seen her that one time at our table getting our order and never seen here again, she had another waitress dropping our food off. After awhile another table was seated across from us and jumped at the opportunity to get their order. Never again, I work in customer service and never seen something like this. My family and I went to Applebees this last Saturday. This was a big treat for us because we dont go out often. Thomas was our server and he did a great job! We couldnt tip him as well as he deserved because our bill was more than expected but he was awesome. So good with the kids. Never been a fan of a chain restaurant especially Applebees. Went since I got a gift card. Made sure we used it up. Food was bland, not very good. Service was friendly and you can pay at the table with your gift card or cards. The interior is neat and has a area sports team theme. I got the chicken with mozzarella cheese. Hardly any cheese. Mashed potatoes needed more flavor. My husband got the spicy shrimp appetizer said it was good. My kid got the plain chicken. She ate it, it looked fake. But it's Applebees and a chain. A little different from the regular Applebee's I am used to. More of a grill than a bar. Different interior decor. Had the chicken wrap. Was excellent. Manager suggested to order the salad instead if the wrap to reduce carbs. The fries were fresh and crispy. Great friendly service. read more

On Dec. 14th I went to the Ionia Michigan Applebee's with an e-gift card I had received from my niece as a birthday gift on Dec. 12th, I had never used one of these before so was sure to ask about it when we entered the restaurant and before we sat down if there would be a problem with it. I was assured that it would be fine. So I treated my friend to lunch, making sure we used almost all of the $25 that the card was good for. But when we went to pay they told me the card was no good so I ended up having to pay for the lunch. On top of that, the lady manager or whatever she was was yelling at me that the payment was suppose to be taken care of at our table, she repeated this twice in a very loud voice. Had about 45 minutes to kill so I stopped in by myself for an after work Monday drink. I ordered the $5 house margarita and a quick app of Chicken Wonton Tacos (to try something new). I was sat in a booth right away and left with a menu and told Dalton would be my server. I waited a little longer than I'd like to be first acknowledged but not long by any means. Dalton was very relaxed when he came to my table, even kneeling on the booth seat across from me. Suggested drinks to order even though I knew what I wanted, nice touch. Drink was delivered promptly and then came the chicken wonton tacos. They were very tasty. 4 lightly fried wontons in the shape of a triangular taco. filled with a spicy diced chicken, topped with crunchy slaw and cilantro, then drizzled with a sassy little sauce. VERY yummy, something I would order again. plate presentation was great with a little wavy taco holder and fresh lime wedge on the side. I watched Dalton take orders and interact with his other tables near me. He does a great job. Although he didn't offer me another drink . I wouldn't have taken one anyways. We eat here pretty regularly. For the most part its good typical Applebee's. The food is good and the service is usually good too. My biggest problem is the bartender at night, he is very loud and swears alot. I have witnessed it when its slow and on packed Friday nights. He as also been the only one up front when we come in and is too busy on his cell phone to acknowledge that there are customers in the building. So if you can deal with that then you'll have an okay time. read more
