Haven't been to this Houma Applebee's in quite a while. We were seated right away. The restaurant is clean and well kept. Ordered from the 2/$25 menu, which comes with an appetizer and 2 entrées. The drinks are sold separately. The food came out sizzling hot. This place needs help with staffing, since they only had one waitress working the entire restaurant. The food came out quickly, but the refills and meal ticket took a while. read more

Visited on 2/14/26 at 5:30 pm, we ordered 2 steak dinners with salads, loaded potatoes, and broccoli. We asked for extra dressing, didn't get it, asked for the steak medium, it was raw and bloody, the loaded potatoes were cold. The bar tender was rude, 1st manager was rude, 2nd manager was rude. We will never eat at any Applebee's again. Texas Roadhouse has superior food, service, and prices. read more

I visited this place twice before even considering to review it. Ordered the ribeye the first trip. Was told at first that they were out of ribeyes; then later as I was considering to stay or leave the server came back and said they did indeed have ribeyes. So I ordered the ribeye plate. I ask for a medium ribeye. After a long wait they brought out a ribeye that look good but when I cut into it, I found that it was raw. Sent it back. When it came back it was closer to than medium rare. I ate it as is. I went back almost a month later and ordered the 10 oz. Steak. Again I ordered a Medium steak. While waiting for my order I got to hear another customer complain to the manager that the steak he ordered came out raw. It was sent back and then came out burnt to a crisp. I was thinking this is not good for me. You think the manager would now be looking at all steaks going out at least for the night to make sure they were cooked to order. My steak came to my table looking like a good cooked steak, but when cut into it. It was raw. I sent it back and when came back to the table it was well done not medium. This will be my last time going to this place and removed Applebees from my list of acceptable restaurants. It makes me wonder if any of them ever heard of a meat thermometer. I mean come on at home on high heat I put the same size steak in the pan and leave it alone for 4 mins. On one side then flip it and cook it on the other side for 4 mins. I always get a perfect medium steak. So why can't they do it. read more

Ordered the Tex Mex Shrimp Bowl via Waitr. I requested no black bean and corn mix but it was included. What I didn't get was any guacamole and that bites. I also ordered Tortilla Soup. Serving sizes were filling and the food was tasty but felt a bit overpriced. So...we ordered from Applebee's again tonight from work. This time despite requesting extra salad dressing I got NONE. My husband and I ate at Applebee's for the first time in a really, really long time! The salad I ordered was so fresh and so big I couldn't eat the whole thing! My husband gave his hamburger an A+ . The yelp reviews kept us away, but I'm sure glad I listened to a friend instead! So glad we gave it another try! Definitely will be back! read more

On 17 July me and the wife went to eat at Applebee's, she had the chicken Alfredo and I ordered a steak with mash potatoes. When the food got to the table the steak was sizzling in the plate and looked really good but when I took a bite it was gross. It was like biting into potted meat. It taste like it was spoiled. I showed the waiter and he took it back to show the Manger, which both apologized, then they asked if I wanted another, but i said no... instead I got a salad. Which was good and the wife's food was good, but ill never order another steak there again. Jacob our waiter was a great waiter and made some awesome drinks. I'm not sure I will eat here again, the place was pretty empty and the service wasn't as fast as it should have. I have a thing about bad food and from reading another post this isn't the first. I feel strange giving this place a four-star rating. I've been to Applebees twice. The first time was right when this store opened. The food was mediocre. The server was inept. We didn't go back until many years later. The menu was very unimpressive, though I wasn't expecting much. I was not a big fan of the atmosphere. The server was nice and helpful this time. I ordered a cheeseburger as I like to try cheeseburgers from different places and compare them. And wow. This cheeseburger was seriously one of the best I have ever had. Terrible experience! My wife ordered the spinach and artichoke chicken cavatappi and it was served cold and tasteless. My wife then asked to warm up her food and add parmesan cheese to give flavor. When we asked for the bill, we were charged $1.00 for the parmesan cheese. Furthermore, I had just began playing a game on their tablet device when the waitress took it way by saying that the system was down. Regardless, they still charged us $1.99 for the game that they took it way. When we spoke with the waitress, she said they had to charge for it. We came in ordered all of our food waitress didn't order one meal at all. Chicken tenders came out soaked in grease either they were precooked or had been sitting there, came out the same time as our appetizer. Food was not the best at all guess it will be years again before I try this place. I understand it's limited menu and everything is short bc of Ida but we also work in restaurant setting. This review is collateral damage from the corporate website. I was travelling back from NOLA and wanted to pick up the "2 for $20" meal. I pulled over and spend about 5 minutes filling out a dozen or more option boxes for the appetizer and meals, from the type of wing sauce and wing coating to the cook of the buger, etc. This is actually a good thing, if it would have worked. However, then, it showed that I needed to have an account to use the code that saves $5 off $25 (I had added a dessert to meet the $25 threshold). So, next it prompts me to enter credit card info to complete the transaction, stating that credit card must be used to get the deal and use my account. Fine--another couple minutes pulled over at a gas station. It then promptly resets, accepting my cc info, but resetting my entire cart. Sale lost. I'm not re-entering all of that info on a mobile site, nor do I think you should have to have a CC and account simply to use a coupon. Web developers need to actually try these things themselves before implementing them. I ate at Walk-ons, instead, which was a better meal anyways. read more

I'd give this place zero stars if that was an option. I've eaten at other Applebee's around the country as I travel a lot for my job and this is definitely the worst one. Every time I eat here my glass has something floating in it and I receive horrible service, EVERY FREAKING TIME. My food always comes out cold and they never make it right. Management is terrible at this location. Do yourself a favor and keep driving past this dump. Since this is the last time i will be dinning at this establishment I decided to leave my review. Every time I eat at an Applebees, I remember why I don't like eating at Applebee's... Stopped by for a drink with a friend. Little did we know it was a special day that the restaurant was offering a couple of free appetizers as a "try our new menu" campaign... AND there were $3.50 margaritas. SCORE!! The margaritas were okay. I've had better, but they were worth the $3.50. The free apps were pretty terrible. The first we got to try was a sriracha shrimp. The sauce was okay, but the shrimp's texture got to me. They were served on crispy wonton pieces which didn't really make any sense or add any value to the plate. The second freebie was smores churros. I thought "they can't be worse than the fast food churros"... I was wrong. This was a fail on so many levels. The "churros" were these skinny awkward looking rings that were the bad kind of chewy. They were served with a ramekin of hershey's sauce and mini marshmallows... WTF? Not only did it taste bad, it was hard to eat. The rings were too big to dip, so they had to be torn apart to fit into the ramekin... but the marshmallows acted like an impenetrable shield to get to the non-treasure of chocolate sauce. I felt like a toddler trying to eat this nonsense. I tried giving Abee's a chance to redeem themselves by actually paying for some other small plates, they were only slightly less aweful. We opted for the Kobe-style meatballs, pretzels and beer cheese dip, and grilled chicken wonton tacos (because I wanted to know what the heck a wonton taco was- curiosity can be a real jerk). The meatballs were okay, but the flavor was off. There was too much of something and I couldn't put my finger on it. The pretzel and cheese dip was okay, like something you could get at a sports stadium. The chicken in the wonton tacos had a weird sauce that was offensively sweet, there was some bland unseasoned slaw mix, and cilantro all cozied up in a crispy wonton wrapper. The flavors just did not work with each other. I tried squirting some lime on there, but it just made everything more confusing. The service was great. Everyone was content. The manager on duty was funny, although there were a few moments that he was trying just a little too hard to get a chuckle. I'd go back if someone asked me to, but I'd rather go elsewhere... even if that means paying double for the margarita. read more

Applebee's would be better off not putting pictures of their food on the menu. When you see what they actually bring to your table, it is a let down. I ordered their new 4-Cheese, Mac & Cheese with Honey Chicken Tenders. The didn't taste 4 types of cheese at all. It seemed to be a simple, and runny, cheese sauce. They also put just 3 small Chicken Tenders on my $13.00 plate. It was about the same amount of meat as 4 Chicken Nuggets from McDonald's. Way too overpriced, not very good. My family enjoyed their food. I usually enjoy mine, but I won't order this again. And when I told the server it wasn't very good, he apologized... And that was it. I didn't finish it. Alright here's the deal with this joint. You need to be severely inebriated before you even walk through the door of this establishment. I say this for two reasons: the atmosphere and the food. The atmosphere makes me want to suck off a 12 gauge because everyone is so depressing to look at. Let's see the first time I was here they messed up my steak! Not once or twice but three times. Yeah they gave me my meal for free but seriously how can you not cook a rare steak??? Like all you have to do is leave it on one side for a couple seconds and then flip it over and do the same to the other side and then plate it. I came here a few days ago, and although I do not like being too negative, I find it necessary to share my realistic experience coming here (I am never coming back here). When I first walked in, the building looked like it hadn't been cleaned for a few weeks. When we were seated after waiting about 10-15 minutes outside of the building, the table and the seats looked like they hadn't been cleaned from the last people. It made me not even want to use the silverware. The people around our table were very rude and loud, and did not seem to care that other people could possibly be trying to have a peaceful dinner (I know this is not the restaurant's fault, but just to give you a perspective of what you may get when you come here). The mozzarella sticks looked like they were heated up in a microwave prior to my entrance, and the food was cold. Not to mention, some of the waiters were not trained well and very unprofessional (not to say that I don't like it when waiters joke with you, but this "joking" was extreme). I never thought I would say this, but the only positive coming here was our waitress, who was extremely nice. She was really the only one who looked like she was genuinely doing her job, and she was working very hard to please every single table. My family and I were very excited to go try the new ribletts. I asked the waitress for a bottle of water to drink. She replied with i don't know if we have any sometimes we run out. When i ordered the ribletts she responded that she didn't know if they had any. I almost asked her if she even worked there due to her lack of knowledge. She finished taking everyone's order and walked away. After ten minutes she returned to say she could not find how to put the ribletts in the computer so she had not placed our order. I cannot understand how this waitress is still employed, although the manager definitely saw how badly she was doing and made no attempt to compensate or help her. I ordered the shrimp & Parmesan sirloin last night. It was by far one of the worst slabs of meat I've ever had. It might as well have been a chunk of tire from a garbage truck covered in shrimp and cheese. I feel as if they threw shrimp and cheese on there just to cover the taste and texture of what they consider a "steak." The "season vegetables" that come along with the dish was simply an uncut broccoli tree mostly all stalk and none of the good parts that people actually eat.
