Stopped by for a quick bite and ordered the bourbon steak and potatoes. This was a mistake. Food came out hot and sizzling. That was the only good thing about the meal. Steak was cut in half (2 small pieces) and over cooked. I asked for med rare and it came out well done. Potatoes and mushrooms over cooked as well. Steak flavor was mediocre at best. We didn't have time to return the meal and order something else. Super disappointed with this meal. I've actually had this meal at other Applebee's and it has been wonderful. I just feel like we got a bad cut of beef. We spent over $39 with tip for this below par meal. Our waitress was very, very nice and brought us our drinks and food in a timely manner. I'm sure if we'd had time to change the order she would have accommodated us. The restaurant seemed clean but suspiciously empty for lunch...? Maybe the cook had an off day? Just left this Applebee's, and this is the first time in 6 years I've had bad service here. We sat at the table for ten minutes or more, no one even checking with us for drinks. Then, on the way out the door, found out that it was their MANAGER who was supposed to be our server. Also, as a side note, they have turned their lights down so low that you have to strain to to read the menu. I definitely no longer recommend this location. read more

If you dislike cigarette smoke, don't eat here. Smoking is allowed at this location's bar. If you know Applebees, the bar space is virtually open to the rest of the small dining area. We almost choked when we walked in. They seated us about 20 feet from a chain smoker at the bar. The waitress said it was allowed. She moved us to the other side of the restaurant, a little farther away. Not surprisingly most of the dining customers were on that side. It was better but we could still smell it. Two more bar customers lit up while we waited for food and we almost walked out. We won't go back. To be fair the food was good and wait staff attentive, but if this is an Applebee's policy for all their restaurants we won't re-vist any of them, too many other great places to eat. I have had Applebees countless times and have never had a problem, until this one. The food was fine, that's why I'm giving it a 2 star rating. Our waiter was slow and didn't keep our drinks filled and to top it off there is smoke everywhere. They don't have a smoking section because they allow it in the entire restaurant. My boyfriend and I had severe headaches and could barely stand to stay and eat. The person next to us was lighting up every couple of minutes. Food is usually always good. I always ask for my steak completely cooked through with no red or bleeding at all, but usually comes to me red. But no issue for the waiter to take it back to the kitchen and fix it. Does take a while to get your food & expensive but food is well worth it. read more

First let me say I am not a judgmental nor would I ever think it my place to dictate what others should do as long as it doesn't endanger or offend myself or my family. And in most cases, I have the ability to simply remove myself from a situation like that. Thats why I will not be going back to Applebee's. The stale smell of cigarette smoke IS overwhelming. I can be around people that smoke as long as it's not right in my face. I promise you, when you leave this restaurant you will leave with this smell on your clothes. You will NEVER get hot or mildly warm food if you place an order to go and go pick it up. You will stand and wait for 30 minutes while being consistently ignored. I would give a half a star or no stars if possible. read more

The smoke here is horrible. They still allow smoking here. Since it is one of few restaurants that still does, it is like a fog in there. I will NEVER go back. A few in downtown Greer still allow smoking. However, it isn't until after 9pm. Allows time for families to dine together and the children do not have to inhale Cancer. read more

It completely ruins your dining experience. Not to mention the fact that I have never had a meal here that wasn't simply awful in one way or another. We are a frequent flyer to this location. And normally at worst the situation we endure is sending something back to be re heated. It's a packed location so i get that sometimes it's hard to pump those orders out. But between things like that and majority of wait staff being somewhat lost in times of heavy traffic breaks me the two stars. Still recommend it though read more

10 min wait on table turned into 20min, 15 min wait for just a drink order 25 min wait for food. Waitresses passed by4times no acknowledgment. Waitress complained about being swamped but seemed to be maintaining 4-5 tables. Being from Out of state I have not been in an establishment that allowed smoking so that was a big turn off. We have meetings at our house sometimes and do the Applebee's carry out recently. The order is always wrong and the food is gross. Not ordering take out or going to dine in at this location. Went out for a rare date night without the kids, but should probably have stayed home. We walk in and are seated in the back corner. Restaurant was not busy, and wait staff was gathered around the computers. Yet for some reason, we were walked by multiple times and completely ignored for 15 minutes. I don't know if we were in a grey area as far as sections but we almost got up and left. Waitress finally came over, took our order, all was well. Drinks came out, mozzarella sticks came out, we were happily playing on the tablet. About halfway through the drinks, my fiancé noticed the ceiling dripping into his drink. We waived the waitress down and she knew off the bat that the ceiling was dripping and said "we aren't supposed to sit people here. You want to move to the other table." So we just moved. Food came out and my steak was over cooked to well done (I ordered a medium) and we just overall weren't happy. We boxed everything up immediately and left. Won't be back. read more

My mother in laws 74th Birthday at Applebee's. One of her favorite places to eat. I also usually enjoy it to, but yesterday at 2:00pm to 4:00pm . A party of of 13 people , had the worst service ever experienced. Thanks Katie B. . We stopped in for lunch today, brand new menu started today and we really love the choices. My husband and I chose from the "2 for $25" menu. We started with the spinach dip, which is a favorite of ours and as always, it was hot, creamy, deliciousness. For our entree's, he chose the Firecracker Shrimp and Cavatapi, I had the Spinach and Artichoke Cavatapi w/grilled chicken. Both of these were absolutely delicious. Highly recommend! And every time we have a dinner at Applebee's we say " only one thing missing.. a dinner roll". Or in this case a slice of garlic bread would have been perfect! But then again, we can live without bread when the food is soooo good! read more

Stopped for lunch today and won't be going back. Our server was friendly, but forgetful. The facilities were not clean. And the food got a mixed review. My Tilapia was terrible, but improved with the addition of tartar sauce. I had to ask twice for the sauce as it didn't come with the dinner. My wife said her steak was just ok. We enjoy going to Applebee's! Waiters and staff are friendly. It's always clean, including restrooms. The manager walks around and speaks to the customers, which is appreciated. My granddaughter left her Frozen watch and I called them and one of the waitresses had to crawl under a booth to retrieve it, but it's safe and sound. We picked it up from manager 2 days later and he told her how much he liked it. She came out smiling! The food has improved greatly in the past couple of years. Went to the Greer Applebees to celebrate our granddaughters birthday since that was where she wanted to go. Worse place to go. We had our three grandchildren ages, 14, 12 and 11. We were initially seated in the bar section where customers were smoking. I looked around and wondered why we were seated there being that there were plenty of empty booths and tables away from the bar. The hostess moved us to a table when I complained about being seated in a smoking section. Our utensils were dirty and our meals were not what we were expecting. Example. ..the bacon garlic greenbeans came without the bacon....when asked about it our waitress told us we specifically had to ask for the bacon to be included in the bacon garlic greenbeans!!!!! Why on earth would you have to specifically request bacon if the menu has it as "bacon garlic greenbeans?". Thats just one example of our comical dining at the Greer Applebees. Folks....there is a reason as to why the place doesn't get crowded. read more

Never my whole life have I left a bad review anywhere I would rather just not go back but I feel I have too since I live in Greer and this WAS my favorite place to eat and drink as was my whole family's ... for years but my last three visits were horrible due to the servers were all rude sad and seemed very very distracted almost seemed like they don't want to be there At all there's always the same locals there every single time that are always over served and intoxicated and yelling out racial slurs and acting like they own Applebee's and especially the fat guy with a grey bushy beard that's older and is there all the time he is so annoying and thinks he is the big shot but in all honesty they are taking away the family fun environment even for it been a bar it's no fun anymore cause it's over run with take care of you're own first kinda people and a old grumpy over intoxicated crowd who come there every night and pay the bear minimum just to sit there and have there seat and the customer service if they don't know you is horrible read more
