This was the worst, most expensive meal I've had in a long time. First off many empty tables but still waited 45 mins, all of our drinks were watered down. My half tea, half lemonade tasted like water with a lemon slice. The sweet tea was not real it must of been a mix, and the soda was also watered down. First came out the wings. They were just okay, a little over cooked. Next came the meals. My daughter's fish and chips... the fries tasted like reheated and were petrified. The fish was also over cooked and dry, my steak was cooked perfect was okay. The mashed potatoes were cold and bland, the garlicky green beans tasted freezer burned. Our waiter tried really hard and we saw that. We still gave him a 20% tip bc it was clearly not his fault. The bathrooms were not clean either. I will not be back. We came to Applebee's in Greer last week and the reason we came back today is because of our awesome waiter Paul. Mistake. Applebee's in Greer needs to train their employees. We sat at a bar table so the person that was working the bar ( I suppose she was playing like she was a bartender) waited on us. I ordered a very easy drink spicy bloody Mary no salt short glass. This chicken was clueless she did not know how to make it. A good thing I didn't order a draft beer that would have confused her. So then we order our food. The appetizer came out we used napkins for plates. Then the food came out not one time did ourselves come check on us. Mother needed cocktail sauce I needed my burger cooked . Oh and at one point I hear excuse me excuse me mother says she's talking to you well where the hell is she she's standing behind the bar doesn't even come to the table. Any how so I'm sitting there checking everything out there's a party of 8 and here comes night boy the manager I've got blah blah who had blah blah he was basically auctioning off the food. Applebee's you need yo train your workers. Teach them the basics how to meet and greet their tables. Aldo how to use seating numbers to order you should be able to go to any table and put the good in front of the person who ordered it. You start at your left seat 1 the next person seat 2 etc. I understand this is fast food but you don't have to be lazy. Then big boy the manager is standing at the bar complaining to a customer how he doesn't like working on Sundays you know it wouldn't be so bad if your employees were trained you could have a smooth running shift At the end I decided to leave a tip gave her $20 probably the best tip she will get all month she was smiling and very appreciative. It's your average Applebees. Meaning you need a buzz to think the food is anything above 3/5 stars. It's like a Chilis. They're bargains for what you get, but far from fine dining. Good service and great prices on sale or special items. I paid $14.99 for my Mac and cheese with hot honey chicken finger garbage and will never get it again. In fact just steer clear of the pastas I'd say. Not worth the high markup. The appetizers are always decent. A solid 3/5 stars like I rate most Chili's and Applebees, both for very similar reasons. read more

I sat at the bar and waited for 11 minutes while she ignored me, prioritizing personal conversations instead. Another staff member eventually reminded her about my order, but she responded with an attitude. At that point, I told them not to bother. A few minutes later, I watched as she warmly greeted other guests before they even entered, immediately asking what they wanted to drink. I ordered a Bahama mama cocktail I can't remember the exact name 8/10/24 around 7:30 to 8pm right on one of the top ice cubes it was a bug. I still can't tell if it was a fly or an ant, but it was frozen in the ice cube and when the waitress came back, I told her I had taken the ice cube and put it on a napkin to show her she didn't even say anything. She just took the drink and went back to the bar. She never took the ice cube with bug in it the whole time we were there. She brought me back another drink which had some black specs in it. I inspected it. I still drink it. I think that they were seeds. Not sure. I was kind of put off by the time we got food I ate maybe half of my burger and so did my spouse, the waitress continually got our guests drink order wrong He had to go to the bar himself to tell them exactly what he wanted, which was just a glass of crown with ice not a shot.. the waitress was young. She probably didn't know much about the alcohol. Main thing that irked me was that she never took the bug off of the table or acknowledged it. We didn't get compensated that I saw on our check for even a little bit off, which I don't care about a discount, but you would at least acknowledge what happened and apologize as the business. Every time I come here, I swear I will not go back. I went back tonight. The place was freezing cold and was very noisy especially when the loud manager was around. It took too long to place an order with the server. The menu showed a half-rack of ribs having six bones. The ribs I received had four puny bones and were overcooked/dry. The french fries were overcooked. The server said slaw came with the meal, but then she said it didn't. The manager compensated me with another meal. The second half-rack had only five bones. Me and my family have been patiently waiting exactly an hour and 30 minutes just for the food. We also waited 30-40 minutes just for the drinks. The food wasn't very pleasing at all, the food that was served was overcooked and unsatisfying. The waitress ignored and did not acknowledge our presence. And yesterday the service for take-out was terrible again! I ordered food for 6 people and paid online, but without any tip! When we got there someone came out straight away and said that I still had to sign the invoice and then I would get my order. I signed the invoice and also gave a tip. He then immediately came with the order. When I checked the order, 3 things were missing. I complained and they said they would bring the missing items. Their bathrooms are dirty. I found a hair in our chips for our spinach dip. The chips were so wet and greasy and salty. We got boneless buffalo wings and they were drenched in sauce. Like a lot. Since it was lunch, went safe and order grilled chicken salad. The chicken was good & moist, the salad was OK, & the waitress was doing her best. It seemed like the food took a bit to come out. I called my son who lives downtown Greenville when we got there & he arrived before our salads. Maybe the cooks needed more help, maybe our server, or maybe both. As we travel around the USA, we are seeing a decline in Applebee's nearly everywhere. This location is no exception. In our party of 8, only three of us had a meal that was done correctly. The kids all felt a little sick afterward. The chicken is dry no matter what particular dish it is being served in. Our server was obviously sick with a cold; we felt so bad for her. I'm going to be honest, this was my first trip to Applebee's in probably 10 years. The food usually is just generic and not good from what I remembered. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised at this trip! For an appetizer I got some soft pretzel sticks with a beer cheese dip. That's got to be the best pretzel appetizer I've ever had!!! For my entree I had a 3 cheese macaroni with bacon and honey pepper chicken strips, and it was a very yummy combination of cheesy and sweet! Sad to say it was horrible. My wife and I decided to do carry out for a date night. We call in our order and was told the time to pick it up and where to park. Even though we came on the back end of the 15-20 min time frame it still took an additional 5 mins to come out. No big deal. Once we returned home with the food it was the wrong order! I called back and the girl on the phone was like just bring it back...Not even willing to apologize or take the correct order down so we can exchange it. Been going to this Applebee's for a number of years before the virus. They would often mess my order up, but was corrected. On 10/24/2020 I placed a dilevery order and it did arrive on time but half the ordered was missing. Applebee's had a big promo going on, you would get 12 shrimp for a dollar with any steak order; I did not received the shrimp. I would think due to the virus and a slow down of their business, they would take better care to insure that ALL orders are correct. They just do not care about doing the job correctly.
