Their kids menu and 2 for $25 entrees are hard to match. They've got a solid dessert list and it's rare where you can find a sit down place anywhere where you can get dinner, drinks, dessert for 2 and leave with leftovers for under $50. Service was fast and friendly and there was a welcoming vibe. They had a number of big screens located throughout so everyone could view the football or basketball games on. Stopped by Applebees in Forestville, MD for a late lunch/early dinner. When we arrived the place was almost empty with only a few patrons. Since it was slow the Service was Friendly and Fast to our Delight. The drinks and appetizers arrived quickly and both were Delicious and Refreshing. The entrees followed up shortly afterwards and both our entrees were Hot and Delicious . I was Really Impressed this time around, because in the past I've had a few issues with service at this location, but not today. This location by far, has the most un-professional ill mannered untrained staff I've ever been subjected to. I visited this location for dinner twice within the last week and have not eaten a bite of food from them. On 2/13/25, My bf and I visited this location and again on Monday 2/17/25, arriving around 8p on both days. On 2/13/25 we were sat by a hostess and that's about the sum it. We waited over 23 minutes and no one ever acknowledged that we were sitting there. Servers walked back and forth averting their eyesight from the large corner both where the two of us were sitting. At the 25 minute mark we left and went to another restaurant. On 2/17/25 my bf arrived at 8:05p and I arrived at 8:12p. By 8:20p no one had come to the table so I stopped a person that appeared to work there and asked if she would send the server over? About 5 minutes after that a young female approached the table, ( I later find out her name), although she did not introduce herself at that time. she immediately asked if we had any drink orders? I then replied "yes and I would like an order of buffalo wings with ranch dressing" My BF then proceeded to ask her, "what flavors of margaritas do you have?" She ran down flavors like mango, passion fruit, strawberry. When she got to strawberry, my BF interrupted her and said, "I'll get the strawberry margarita" and I said "make that two." She left the table and walked about two steps, turned around and said, "you want boneless right?" I replied and said "No bone in." She turns around and continues on her way. About 10 minutes later, she comes back to the table with two light yellowish drinks, sets them down and says, "I'll come back to take your order." I stopped her and asked what flavor margarita was in front of us and she replied, "passion fruit." I replied , "I'm sorry , but this is not what we ordered." She quickly responded, "yes it is!" and "well we don't have strawberry anyway!" There was another issue with the order. I attached what I tried to order in person like I did online . It's too negative for yelp so we'll skip ahead. I asked another server to get the manager When the manager, came out he greeted us , introduced himself and asked how he could help us? Within seconds of my bf and I beginning to explain that we had an issue with the server and overall customer service in that particular location the server walked by and overheard me saying "I don't know her name but we were sitting......" before I could begin to point to where we were sitting, she interjected and said, ". My name is ____!" Further illustrating her lack of professionalism. He heard us out, but then defended her by offering a reason for her misunderstanding my order, by showing me something on the backside of the menu. It was just a quick visit on an extremely rainy day. This location smells like mold and dirty. I believe it is a very old establishment and needs lots of upgrade to be made. Our waiter was not knowledgeable and didn't make any effort in responding to our questions when asked about the drinks from the bar (ya'll lost out on us buying some drinks). The selection of food on the menu is varied however we chose the "all you can eat" for $14.99 promo that basically is an overload of carbs with unlimited fries, breaded shrimps, breaded boneless wings and very saucy riblets. The downfall is that you can not order more than one protein at a time this creating a problem when the waiter is not constantly coming to your table to place more of the orders. I got the bourbon steak which I asked for medium and received rare steak. I didn't ask for another steak I was ready to go but everything else was good. My friends and family enjoy their plates. There were a few employees just hovering at the bar doing nothing. The food came out so slowly. Food was cold and unappetizing. Burger patty was clearly overcooked and dry. I tend to come to this Applebees every so often because it's near my home so it's convenient. I haven't had many bad experiences here but last night was by far the worst experience. Our food was just fine. My issue comes after the fact. I've never had someone try to play with my money at this restaurant until last night. Our bill came to $70.47, I left a $10 tip for the waitress on my card which would bring the total amount to $80.47 yet I wake up this morning and see that my cash app card was charged for $100.47! I immediately went to the restaurant today to address this clear fraud. The manager that was on duty during lunch today was not working last night but she was very helpful and able to bring me a copy of the Merchant copy of the receipt from last night. Which there is a CLEAR indisputable time difference on than what's on my guest copy. I kept both of my receipts from last night, both the check I was given and the guest copy receipt that we are given once it's time to sign after your card has been charged! The time that my receipt was printed out says 9:46PM. The time that the guest copy receipt says my payment was approved says 9:57PM. My transaction on my cash app also says my card was charged at 9:57PM. Yet the merchant copy receipt they have says 10:44PM. I know without question that I signed the receipt and left a $10 tip. My lady friend that was with me confirmed to me that I signed the receipt and left a $10 tip. Yet the merchant copy they showed me has a different time on it than mine and it just has a tip and total written on it with no signature on it that's not even my handwriting nor my lady friend's handwriting. I was able to speak with the GM Jay about this when he got to work this afternoon. While he did give me back the $20 difference in the tip, I do not appreciate the insult to my intelligence. He basically blew off the clear time difference on the merchant copy and guest copy. Then he sat and lied to my face and told me that he checked the cameras and saw that I was sleep and my lady friend signed the receipt for me yet I checked the exact area where we sat after I spoke with him and there are CLEARLY no cameras anywhere facing the booth we sat at. This location is near the Penn Mar shopping area and one of several restaurants to pick from. My wife, toddler, friend, and I walked in on a random Wednesday evening and only had to wait five minutes before a booth was ready for us. Our server was fantastic. She came right away and made recommendations off the large menu. To eat, I ordered the parmesan sirloin steak and shrimp dish that comes with two sides (I ordered garlic mashed potatoes and cheesy broccoli). It wasn't bad and at a pretty cheap price too. Also for just a few dollars, I ordered the white peach sangria made from Moscato. It was a generous pour and sweet as heck (I'm not complaining). The restaurant itself wasn't kept super clean, but it wasn't bad either. I wouldn't come here regularly, but for my first Applebee's experience, it was better than a one star. read more

I requested a spicy margarita which is not on the menu however she believes said they couldn't do it I was like maybe you ask. She returned and said they couldn't do it. *** it is important to note that to make a spicy margarita what is required it's 2 to 3 jalapeño peppers muddled in shaker in which you make the margarita. Something a real bartender and not a exclusively Applebee's trade bartender what time and where be able to look up how they taken 2 minutes. I can see it order a perfect margarita but not none of that Mucho trash put by in a regular class I'm martini glass specifically. The drink I'm just in a water glass I assume there to be water, dirty water since I had ordered a water first that have not been received, Assuming this was the water that I had ordered they had not been received, and because cocktails come garnished in the real world at least, not at Applebee's it would be. My assumption was incorrect. The pretzel that I ordered said in the menu that it came with Dijon mustard, when I inquired about the master she said they did not, so I then had to request it but what came out with the salad dressing honey mustard and not the Dijon mustard that should a company I pretzel. It's the only time I eat mustard so that was slightly annoying. Nonetheless the bartender from across the room I knew that she got off at five and it was a long way till five,had continued issues with her own patrons at the bar. More than likely because she looked and appeared to be lazy and #RedToGo. You can't tear people die of our building them back up... The hostess with the Bob and the purple extensions was very nice and helpful. April did check in repeatedly. There's nothing redeeming I can say about the bartender whatsoever, except for things went smoothly after she left. It's what I get for trying to eat good in the neighborhood. Meanwhile I should just eat good in our neighborhood and avoid the Applebees. But I did used to love that nacho that you can't even get on the happy hour, curses every time. I gave it three stars because like a personnel review you can never get five, and because I might be used to a certain level of restaurant in far too particular for that of which Applebee's should be able to accommodate. I kind of don't feel that way but I feel like other people will make that assassin. And if you want a better quality shadow a better place but I don't really think that that is appropriate. Also my day when you were a kid under 18 or 21 years old you couldn't sit in the bar area. Not true of Applebee's at the bar. What can I say? It's Applebee's (shrugs). If you go on the right night, it's basically a party in there. Good vibes and consistent service. In the PG County customer service lacks on a whole, so for what it's worth, this Applebee's is above average on the customer service scale. They do have armed security at this location. I don't know if that is a good thing or a bad thing, but I try not to roll up to late around these parts. I've personally never had a safety issue, but I do know they had a shooting in the parking lot in 2012. (Man Who was kicked out came and shot the state trooper on duty) I don't believe that is Applebee's fault, so my review doesn't deduct because of that, but I added it to my review for tourist, who might not know the area well, and need to get some background. read more

Review for visit on Veterans Day 2019: I arrived, party of one, to enjoy a complimentary Veterans Day meal, expecting a long wait to be seated. The hostess, Shiann, was very professional and pleasant; not expected considering the number of people waiting to be seated. In less then five minutes, Shiann came and offered a seat! Someone came up with the brilliant idea of seating five veterans who were "party of one" at the corner booth! Now think about five old Army & Navy veterans seated together. At 60 years old, I was the youngest of the group. Every one of us had special requests or something that demanded extra from our server, Briana. But she was fantastic! The five of us all talked and swapped stories, getting to know each other. I can assure you that all five of us had a great meal, enjoyed ourselves, in large part to Briana's great service!
