He was consistently sweeping, wiping down tables, and keeping the restaurant clean and organized while staying attentive to guests the entire time. What truly stood out was his work ethic and professionalism. He showed more initiative, energy, and accountability than anyone else on the floor and clearly takes pride in his role. I haven't been to this Applebee's in years, even though it used to be a regular spot for me. I loved their late-night happy hour back in the day. The quality started slipping, and I drifted away, but I decided to give them another shot tonight. This visit actually turned out better than I expected. The food came out fresh and in a reasonable amount of time. We ordered the Ultimate Trio with Mozzarella Sticks, Boneless Wings, and a Chicken Quesadilla for $14.99. The Mozzarella Sticks and Quesadilla were solid; the Boneless Wings were a bit too hard for my taste. Since we went during late-night hours, the appetizers were half off, so our Wonton Tacos came out to $5.65. For mains, we had the Classic Crispy Chicken Sandwich at $9.99, the Whiskey Bacon Burger at $15.99, and the Ribeye at $25.59. The sandwich and burger were a bit on the dry side, but the ribeye was pretty good. I assumed prices would've skyrocketed like everywhere else, but everything was still pretty manageable. The pricing ended up being the most pleasant surprise of the night. Service was... fine. Not rude, just a server who was clearly at the tail end of her shift and ready to head home. She handled everything efficiently, just without much warmth or interaction. Noticeable, but not a dealbreaker. I had just finished shopping at Best Buy and wanted to get BBQ for lunch. Cattleman's was closed and when I looked across the highway I saw Applebees. I hadn't been there in years so I figured I'd give it a try. The place was not too busy around 245 pm on a Friday, so I easily got a table by the window. The waitress Lena was super nice and helpful. I ordered the double glazed baby back ribs with honey BBQ sauce. It came out about 15 minute later with French fries and coleslaw. The baby back ribs were legendary. Slow cooked and tender with plenty of bbq sauce the meat easily fell off the bone. It was a sticky mess but I was in hog heaven! And just like that Applebees jumped to the top of the list for my favorite bbq places in town. read more

SCAM SCAM SCAM. My family of 6 came in excited for All You Can Eat boneless wings, riblets, and shrimp. We asked how the AYCE works and our server, EMMA, stated that we can only do one each not separately. So what we got was 1 plate of 6 boneless wings, 1 plate of 3 small riblets, and 1 plate of 6 small wings. We HAD to share with the big family. Then we ordered the refill. Came in on an even SMALLER plate, less shrimp, less boneless wings, and 1 riblet. WHO IS THAT FEEDING? We waited almost 45 mins to receive our 3 plates, which should have been 6 because it's AYCE PER PERSON. Then another 30 minutes for our refill for food. We seen EMMA walk past our table more than a handful of times checking in on other customers, getting their receipts, their drinks. Not once had she come check up on us, reassure us about the food, refill our drinks. It wasn't until we spoke to the manager there. She explained to us how the AYCE worked and we were given the WRONG information. We (6) should have been able to order our OWN AYCE meal but we had to share 3 small plates. We did not get any service from EMMA. THEN as we are ready to leave and get the bill. She wants to bring us food. WASTE OF FOOD AND TIME. Came here at around 3pm for a family meal with my hard of hearing parents and no one could communicate over the blasting music. We kindly asked the server if they were able to turn it down a notch or two and she said the manager said no. We asked to speak to the manager so she could stand there and hear for herself how ridiculous it was and I could barely hear her say that "she could lose her job if she turns it down". Such a bs answer. We moved to the bar area and it was surprisingly the slightest bit better. The server seemed irritated that we moved and we didn't see the manager on the floor once after that. This is probably now one of the least favorite chain restaurants. We wanted to come in to try the new O-M-Cheese burger and it barely had any cheese in the skillet! Just tasted like a cheeseburger, although it was probably the best thing we had from the whole meal. At least they still have decent prices like the 2 for $25 deal (but limited entree options), and $7 kids meals, but otherwise just not enticing enough to come back. The spinach artichoke dip shrunk in portion size and was so watery! The blondie was dry and not as craveable as it used to be. I was surprised the place was actually packed for a Friday night! I was out with my friend that I'm staying with this weekend, sort of in the Elk Grove area and I suggested we could do Applebee's. The Applebee's location here is just off the 99 at the Bond Rd exit. Then turn left at East Stockton Blvd and go all the way till you see Applebee's on the right. Plenty of parking. I dunno why this location has such a low star rating, we didn't have any problems at all. Service was just fine and the food came out in a timely manner. Seems like a lot of people on yelp just like to complain, cause the ratings on google are way better. Oh, well, here we are! Looking at the menu for the specials (always lookin for the deal!) I see the 2 for $25 deal. That works out since there's just two of us. For $25, you get choice of appetizers listed, 2 entrees, choice of Chicken on pasta with alfredo sauce, the new Grilled cheese, cheeseburger with fries or the "Oriental" salad .... they still say that? Drinks not included. I got the new Grilled cheese Cheeseburger and my friend got the "oriental" salad ..... not cause she's Asian, but she rather have a healthy salad. Since it was happy hour still, I couldn't resist and get the mozzarella fried cheese sticks along with the included appetizer of onion rings. I know, I'm not the healthy one with all the deep fried stuff! The appetizers arrived .... OK, I couldn't help posing them for the pics! Stacked the onion rings like a Jenga game and did Lincoln Logs with the cheese sticks. Our server was quite amused at that! The food arrives and looks tasty. My friends salad looked like , well, a grilled chicken salad, dressing on the side of course. My Grilled cheese cheeseburger was tasty and moist. Ambiance- 1/5 appeared clean. But it's worth mentioning that...My daughter ordered wings. They garnished her wings with celery and the celery still had dirt on it. Very visible black dirt. They took off 10% for the inconvenience. Our server Leandra said that's all she could do. Even after she saw the black dirt all over the celery. She said it was because my daughter ate some of the wings. Which she had but who goes straight for the celery when hot wings are staring in your face?!?! I visited this restaurant looking for a quick appetizer to hold me over because we were going to have a late dinner so I ordered to-go. I perused the menu and the Brew Pub Loaded Waffle fries stood out so I thought I give them a go. My husband and I shared them and I must say, they were bomb! They come in mango and strawberry, but as much as I wanted to try the mango the strawberry was too good to pass up on. My friends and I also ordered a few plates to splits. The four cheese pasta has my heart. The mozzarella sticks were amazing as well. The place was pretty busy when we came in but we got seated quickly. I feel they may be understaffed because while our server came by often to check in on us, getting our drinks and food took quite a while. Even at the end, someone subbing for our server came by to offer a togo box, which I said yes to, but she never came back. In the end I went to the bar to ask for one myself because our original waiter already gave us our check and it's been 20 minutes since we were offered the box. Today was Promotion day across Elk Grove. Elementary Schools throughout the city are promoting. We called many places. All had waits that were over an hour. Fortunately for us. Applebee's had not opened yet. So we headed over to Applebee's minutes before opening. Amenity was acted very professional in letting us know. They did not expect so many large groups waiting when the doors opened at 11. That they were working on getting more staff to come in. We were seated and placing orders by 11:20. Along with many other groups. Even with the rush of promotion party's arriving. Lakayla was greeting everyone with a smile. Even as kids needed crayons. She did what she could and found plenty of pens. The food was Applebee's good. All 10 of us cleared our plates. Describing the ambiance.... I don't know. What I can say. Is before we left. A group of amazing and beautiful women walked in. They all had their knitting baskets with them. They set the tone for me. They were there to eat, drink tea, spill tea and knit. That was the ambiance. Pleasant. Welcoming. With good food and quiet enough to have conversations but with enough back ground noise to remind you to beep tapping your foot. Thank You Lakayla. I was genuinely disappointed during my visit after witnessing a manager verbally disrespect a server in front of customers. The tone was harsh, absoulley disrespectful , and felt completely unnecessary. The server was transferring her tables while being harassed by what appeared to be a manager - Emity. The server looked around for help from other staff and no one attempted to stop the harassment from the older woman. Watching an employee be spoken to like that ruined the experience and made me uncomfortable staying. Management behavior like this reflects directly on the restaurant. On Thursday sept 11th 2025 say about 6.30p there was a group of 10 people and we all have been to our local Applebee's in Victorville and apple Valley and as much as I hate to say I was warned by a customer coming out of the restaurant and said it was awful being up in galt for a award ceremony we could not get seated at Texas Roadhouse for 2 hours and the kids were hungry Man I wished id listened better to the customer coming out of this Applebee's well to make a long story as short as possible. We went here for my birthday and probably wont be coming back. There was a lot of people, but not too crowded. It seemed like they had a lot of staff working and our waitress only came to our table like 3 times. We had our 2 yr old with us, and they said they ran out of crayons. The food was okay, chicken was dry, the four cheese Mac n cheese with chicken definitely does NOT look like the picture. You get these small little tenders that barely have any sauce on them. We got our chips and dip appetizer, and the chips were surely from the bottom of the bag. Im not sure why the kitchen even let the waitress take it out. It was quiet in the restaurant at first, but then you can tell there was a guy at the bar who was getting a little too drunk and was really loud. Let's not include that it was the wrong meal as well. They sent me baby back ribs, but these ribs looked like it was thrown in a microwave with bbq sauce just drenched in it. I didn't even order baby back ribs. I called and spoke to the manager and was told that I would get a comp meal or gift card and didn't even receive that! Second meal was ordered for 2 as well, but this time it looked like they took the food off someone else's plate and gave us their left overs. This To-go service is complete shit. Family of 5 visit as we don't have many Applebee's in our home town and everyone was all over the place with what they wanted to eat before leaving. Arrived during lunch and took advantage of the 2 for $25 deal that included 2 Cheeseburgers and 2 salads. I was on my salad kick so I had one each and then ordered the Classic Combo for everyone to nibble on. I had the Riblets and subbed out the fries for Brocoilli. Other family members had the Southwest Chicken Bowl and the Mashed Potatoes & Brocolli sides as their main. It got busy pretty quickly for lunch, but no complaints outside of the fries for one of the cheeseburger plates not being hot... but they were quickly replaced. Service again is key for me and our server was prompt with refills, making adjustments to our meals and grabbing after thought items for us. We missed out on the happy hour deals but it was a good reminder of what we were missing and would look forward to another visit. read more

The food took so long to come and when Rebecca brought out our appetizer, she did not want to bring out any small plate to share the food. She told us they don't have anymore small plate. She kept telling us there were no small plates just big plates. So we asked for some ranch for our onion ring she brought back out small plates for us. The food was ok. I believe it could have been better if Rebecca would have gone to grab it instead of letting it sit on the warmer for so long. When the food came out it was all Luke warm and un appetizing. We decided to take our kids out for a quick bite after their performance at Multicultural Night. For a family of six, you can't beat Applebee's deals. Unfortunately, this location fell short in terms of presentation and cleanliness. The floors were in poor condition (see picture), and it was clear they hadn't swept under the table. We even had to ask our server to clean the table before we sat down. That said, the service was excellent--our waitress was attentive and even honored the happy hour pricing since we arrived 10 minutes early. The food was, as expected, good--it's Applebee's, after all. My oldest son loves their regular hamburger with cheese, while I'm always a fan of their wing sauce, which never disappoints. Whew I haven't been to Applebee's in over a decade, and my experience last Saturday reminded me why I rarely go here. The employees were friendly, but the service was incredibly long! We had a party of 7 and it took a really long time until they took our order. After ordering, it took almost an hour until we received our food. When we did finally receive our food, they made a mistake on the bacon cheeseburger that one of my family members ordered. They cooked the hamburger well-done instead of medium, which is what he ordered. After taking the burger back, it took another 30 minutes until he received his corrected burger. My husband ordered the all you can eat wings/ribs special for $14.99, but they took over 30 minutes until they gave him his 2nd plate! By that time we were already ready to go as we had been sitting there for a couple hours total. He just took his 2nd plate to-go instead. Beware of ordering that special. They take so long to give it to you that you may not really have "all-you-can-eat." I'm giving them 2 stars because the waitress was apologetic and friendly, and she said they were short-staffed from people not showing up to work. It was still troublesome that they got my family member's burger order wrong though. My ribeye entree with mashed potatoes and broccoli didn't taste bad at least. read more
