This place is awful. We were there almost an hour and watched everyone that came after us get served. The food was cold without much flavor. I don't usually write reviews as I understand things happen, but this is by far one of the worst restaurant visits I have ever had. We stopped visiting this location a couple of years ago due to poor service and food and figured maybe things got better. We unfortunately discovered we were incorrect. This visit was horrible. Our experience is detailed below. 1. We were greeted by a hostess in ill-fitting clothing. Tables were open but she waited to seat us to allow the servers to catch up. She offered seats at the bar but the only open seats were littered with dirty dishes. 2. When we ordered our food, the waiter did not go over or ask for dressing options on our salads. He assumed we wanted ranch which neither of us prefer. When I saw him again, I asked if the dressing was a house dressing. He said it was ranch. I informed him we did not want ranch and asked if there were other options. He said he didn't know we wanted something else. I explained to him he didn't ask us our preferences, but he seemed pretty confused. 3. When we finsihed our salads, the waiter did not remove the dirty dishes even when he eventually brought new drinks. Even after he brought our meals, he left the dirty dishes on the table making the table more crowded. 4. When we received our meals which were ribs and Bourbon Street Chicken, the waiter did not give us knives. We had to flag down the hostess and ask for knives becuase the waiter kept disappearing for long lengths of time. 5. When we began to eat, my wife noticed her meal had a funny smell and taste to it. After a few minutes we could tell the cast iron plate smelled like old, moldy rags and that odor had cooked into the food. When we finally saw the waiter again, I explained what was going on. He said he would get that off of our ticket and get the manager. He left the bad food on the table and left the area. He came back several minutes later and said the manager would be out to see us. The waiter came back while we were still waiting and said he couldn't get the meal removed from the ticket and was very confused as to what to do. I told him the manager had not been out yet and we still needed a meal for my wife. He just said "what"? I repeated my statement and told him we just wanted the meal replaced and we would pay for our meals in full, we just wanted it corrected. We never did see the manager that was supposed to come see us. We finally received a replacement meal more than 30 minutes later but it only had a tiny scoop of potatoes on it. He explained they were out and had to make more. This took another 15 minutes or so. When the waiter brought the replacement meal, he picked up one dirty salad plate and two glasses. He left the other dirty salad plate and the old food that was not good on the table. At this point, we just asked for boxes so we could leave. 6. Before we left, my wife had to use the restroom. On the way to the rest room, she saw old, dirty food service gloves lying on the floor and the employees were just walking over them and kicking them around. I have never had a situation where every single aspect of my visit was this bad. The manager has no concern for her customers as indicated by her not making any effort to speak to us about the incident. We never saw her. The wait staff is incompetent and the hostess does not present and inviting appearance. I hate to say that at this point, I have no intent to ever visit this location again and I wanted to share this experience so others are aware what to expect. This has got to be one of the worst dinning experiences I have had here in Duncan. So we order our food. Then it get to use. My girlfriend ordered the 8 oz steak medium rare. And I order the steak fajitas medium rare. Everything is well done. So they take my food and don't bring me back anything. My girlfriend eats here bc she doesn't want to cause a seen. So while I'm waiting. I'm still waiting on my drink I ask about it. The wait staff say it will be here shortly. Almost 30min pass and several times of asking. She is done our child is done and so I tell them to forget it the food and the drink. Then we pay for hers and our Childs and leave. This place sucks ass read more

If I could give it 0 stars I would. We're not originally from here, and when deciding what to eat we decided to give Applebee's a try, we've eaten a couple times at one at home so we thought it was our best shot at something good. We were wrong. We waited a unusually long time for our appetizers and then an even longer time for our main course. My younger cousin got a salmon (and our entire diet revolves around seafood so we know how things should taste) and it was nothing how it should've been. I even tasted it myself and it tasted a bit on the raw side. Then, I found a hair in my shrimp alfredo!!!!! It was entirely to short to be any of our parties hair. We called the manager and she literally had an attitude and said that she checked everything before it left the kitchen. They charged us for extra alfredo sauce but when we got it, it had a coating as if it had been sitting out for a while; almost like the way mashed potatoes get after they've been out. The manager said that she checked the alfredo sauce before it got to us and it didn't have a coating but when I poured it over my pasta I literally saw the sauce break through the coating!!! read more

Place was not busy. The floors are dirty. The mustard bottle had mustard harden on the lid so that tells you it hasn't been cleaned in a few days. Everything should be cleaned after every use. Haven't hot our food yet. Dollaritas was not good...no salt on rim...was not real cold. I don't think the manager is teaching his staff anything. Staff is nice but just need more training. It will be a while before I come back. read more

It's Applebee's. I don't expect a michelin fine dining experience. But I DO expect the nominal service one would expect outside of one's own kitchen. I mean, I assume the servers have been to restaurants and have been served effectively in their 17 years of life prior to serving me. Just mimic that. It has become a joke for us to determine the over/under on how quickly the waiters will screw the pooch on our orders. Couple of pro-tips: 1) If a couple orders appetizers to share... bring them freakin' silverware and clean plates BEFORE the apps arrives. This way they can, you know, share/eat the food you bring to them. Wouldn't YOU want a fork to dig in PRIOR to your food arriving? I shouldn't have to have foresight to ask for a fork as soon as I sit down, so it will be there when my food arrives. 2) If you bring us drinks quickly, we will be more likely to order more drinks. And if I order more drinks, I'll leave you a bigger tip. Seriously, the drunker I am, the more I will buy and the bigger your tip will be. Our interests are aligned. Leaving my wife's frozen margarita to sit and melt on the bar and failing to deliver her second drink before we leave, means your gratuity is deducted, guys! 3) We drink a ton of water. Don't make me ask, just re-fill our glasses. Similarly, don't be a napkin or condiment scrooge. Get everything we need to the table as soon as possible and we will be happy and ORDER MORE DRINKS, which results in BIGGER TIPS FOR YOU. This is endemic. It's not just one waiter, but the whole staff. The entire staff needs to be properly trained. Duncan is ripe for a late night casual dining establishment and Applebee's will not be able to compete if someone else swoops in. Beyond that, I cannot imagine this place is up to corporate standards. read more

Has anyone ever heard of curbside to go??? They asked me what I was driving and I sat there 5-7 mins.....and nothing! I went in and all the employees just stared at me for another couple of minutes and finally a a waitress walked to me and asked, "do you have a curbside order" I said yes. She said the bar tender can help you!! I'm just a little pissed at this point. So I walk up to the bar and am asked again " do you have a curbside order" I said yes. Again! Even when I'm just waiting area there are angry patrons waiting to complain. If they're not getting orders wrong, they are just taking forever. If I could give zero stars I would. It took around 50 minutes to even get our food and when we got it, the steak and chicken fajitas had very little flavor. The steak was under cooked. The pasta was a little cold. I ordered a Cesar salad and it was pathetic. They couldn't even get our drinks right. HORRIBLE SERVICE. Took a very long to be seated. No line mind you. Just took them over 10 min to seat my family of 4. Greated by the server and our drink orders taken. 10 minutes later our drinks arrived. And they were wrong. Sent the sodas and asked for tea again. 10 more minutes got our tea, we placed our order. Three hamburgers, a kids chicken meal and an appetizer. 35 minutes later our food arrived. 5 minutes after that our appetizer arrived. Drinks were only refilled one time during the entire meal. When our bill arrived they charged me for the sodas and the teas. I had to argue with the server to get the sodas removed. This was our 3rd time there, first two times werent much better but we let it slide abit because the store was new and very busy but this was unexcusable. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE, WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THIS RESTAURANT!!!!! My wife and I were visiting my mom and decided to come eat dinner here. We were seated in the very corner and it took about 10 minutes for our waitress to serve us. It was not busy, there were about 5 couples in the restaurant. Our waitress finally came and took our drink and food order. After about a 30 minute wait, our food finally arrived. My wife ordered the Mac and cheese and when she got it, it was cold and very watery. We asked that they take that one back and make her a new one. After about 10 minutes, they brought her the same dish that was still cold! My wife said forget it and decided to go to the restroom. My wife came back out and told us that there was a lady with an Applebee's jacket on that was using the restroom, texting on her phone, and DID NOT wash her hands upon leaving. So we flagged down the manager and informed him of the situation. The manager, instead of apologizing for the issue, said that his staff do not wear black jackets with an Applebee's logo on them. As we were talking to the manager, someone walked out of the kitchen in a black jacket that had their logo on it..........imagine that. We told the manager to give us our check cause we were leaving. The manager had our waitress bring us the check, and of course it was full price, nothing was comped for the issues we had had. We paid it and left. Food could not have had any more salt. Horrible service. They brought us the check not even 5 minutes after we ordered our food. Overstaffed with teenagers who mostly stand around doing nothing. Many other dissatisfied customers during our visit for lunch. Way salty and the artichoke dip appetizer was cooked to death (tasted like the stuff you get in the frozen food section at the grocery store). I wish I didn't even have to give it 1 star. My husband and I went here on a date, and was sadly disappointed. The only seasoning we could taste on our food was salt, and LOTS of it, except the things that were supposed to have salt, like fries and potatoes were lacking to the point of having absolutely no flavor. I'll admit. I live in Duncan and eat out virtually every night. I will never go into Applebee's again. In fact I happen to write this review in the early morning hours as I happened to recall the last time we went in there.. SERVICE IS INTENTIONALLY SLOW. I can understand time taken to cook a meal, but you shouldn't have to wait to be seated in an empty restaurant or to order drinks OR FOOD. Or to wait for the change or your credit card,, hoping that you'll order another drink. My wife ordered the grilled salmon one time, right after they had a big promotion for the 'flame grill'. Clearly they don't watch the food while it is on the grill. She WAS SERVED an absolutely burnt item. I mean you take the underside and brush with a knife, fork, tissue, or whatever, and ashes came off. at least 1/4th of the thickness of the fish was that burnt black!! It had been on fire, for while. They served it!! and thought it was great service when they too it back. After spending nearly an hour and a half for a meal that came in pieces (did I want mine hot or would I wait while they grudgingly cooked another fish and therefore have mine cold?). And then they made a big deal of how they gave me 1/2 off Waste my time! Waste my money. Hopefully this place will go out of business soon and Duncan will look attractive to a attentive chain. read more

Staying at the hotel so this seemed logical to eat here while I was planning to have an adult beverage. I was so wrong. The chief doesn't understand that seasoning is to compliment the item not be the item. The stake was cooked nicely yet I couldn't taste it, only the seasoning. Well, I thought I would give it a second go the next evening. I received the 8 oz cut with liquid mash potato and what tasted like frozen broccoli. The meat was good but that's it. Don't know if we just had an off night or what. The service was great, and my mom and I were seated very quickly. My mom ordered brocolli and Mac and cheese while I ordered two appetizers, the cheese-burger egg rolls and the mozzarella cheese sticks. We noticed that the silverware had something on it. My mom made sure it wasn't just water spots that we were seeing but nope she said it was dirty silverware. We looked at mine and my silverware was dirty as well. We asked for and got new clean silverware. The cheeseburger egg rolls were as good as always and so were the cheese sticks. Eating a light supper we decided we wanted dessert. We ordered the brownie bite and we had it before, but for some reason it was very much smaller than usual. I didn't even bother eating it. I'm rating it a 2 because of the silverware and the size of the dessert. We're not planning on coming back soon, because sadly it just wasn't a good experience. read more

The sandwich bread was greasy, sauce was too sweet and had too much on it, and the bread was soggy and wet as well. The mac and cheese was somehow sweet and watery - there was minimal cheese taste. The "sriracha sauce" was sweet and more of a sweet mayo, orange sauce and had no spice to it. The service was slow but our waitress was nice and attended to our needs. Staying at the hotel behind Applebee's and had a gift card so we stopped in. I ordered a Pub meal. What a joke! The sirloin was cut up in small pieces that amounted to about three bites of meat. And that was about $13. I asked the waitress what was the problem and she said that was the amount you got. Pathetic. Go somewhere else. I won't come here again when I visit family. This was my second visit to this Applebee's and it will be my last. 2 Times in a row my steak was so undercooked I would not eat there again. This latest time, it took an hour to get food, and my steak ordered WELL DONE, came out, medium rare. the wait staff said oh I can recook it.. NO.. I am good. No manager was sent to the table. SO after I paid my bill for my husbands and sons food, I hailed a manager down and his excuse was, well we got busy. Not can I try to get you something else, how can I make this right... My fiancé and I just went to Applebee's to have supper. Unfortunate for me, he knows most of the little girls that work there, because I spent the entire time eating my meal while the hostess and another waitress visited with him, at our table. when I was done eating, (he hadn't even started on his meal), I picked up my purse and went to the ladies room. And oh my goodness guess who showed up in there seconds later!!! YES the hostess that was visiting with my fiancé. When I left the ladies room, I went back to the table only to find ANOTHER one visiting with him. Of course I did tell him next time he may go by his self, and he will have company without having to pay for my meal. There should be a policy somewhere in their SOP about leaving the customers alone while they eat their meal. And since there's evidently NOT (there were at least 3 managers there), I may never return. read more

So Applebee's is one of our favorite places to eat and my husband and I were beyond excited when we moved back to Duncan to hear that we have an Applebee's. The three times we have eaten there we have been beyond disappointed with the food. The chicken every time I have ordered it has been full of gristle, the vegetables that are steamed are way hard and extremely under cooked. The Hamburger my husband ordered all three times were all bloody and undercooked. By the way he asked for a well done burger and ask them to pretty much burn it and yet it still came out raw all three times. I am appalled at the amount of money we have spent there for food and every single time its been a huge disappointment. We will never eat there again and I will tell others about our experience and when we have family come to town we will not be eating at this particular establishment. Applebee's in Duncan get your cooks retrained or you will continue to lose customers. read more
