Had dinner with with a group of six. Ordered California Chicken salad and fries. I was the last of six to be served. 45 minutes. The fries were the LAST to come. The salad was drenched with dressing - swimming. Terrible service, terrible experience, terrible food!!!! Next time it will be sent back until they get it right.. Yuck to Applebees!!! read more

Given prior reviews, this place must have really upped their game! Two of us stopped here on a Monday night as we wanted a decent meal deal without being limited to burgers and fries. The vibe was comfy as they had a Lions game on the TVs and some of the patrons were interested. The restaurant was about 40% full at 7 pm. We ordered from the 2 for $25 menu, which let us of each get a house (or caesar) salad and entree. The house salads were fresh and generous, with chopped cucumber, tomato, cheese and croutons. We both ordered the chicken parmasean fettuccine as entrees, expecting a lot of pasta with a small portion of chicken. That's NOT what happened! There WAS a generous portion of pasta with ample sauce and a thick, full half chicken breast. It was fried, but not greasy, and topped with an appropriate amount of flavorful tomato sauce and cheese. It also came with a breadstick. Because we were driving through the area, we did not order any drinks, despite the many specials and options offered. Our server, Ally, was friendly and checked on us at the right times. The restaurant was clean, although we did notice a table go uncleared for a relatively long time, not that anyone was left waiting. I've avoided Applebees for a long time, but I'd come back. Man the quality of food here has seriously diminished. I don't really blame this location, it's what corporate sends them. Most everything is frozen, fried or microwaved. Two of my daughters have worked here and they both can attest to that. And the prices for what you're getting are beyond ridiculous. My neighbor recently ate at this location with her grand daughter. Let me preface with she does not use her debit hardly ever, like it's been months. Day after eating at the Clip location, she notices and additional $800 was removed from her account. She contacted the manager who said she'd get back to her. Never did. Luckily her bank figured out the fraud issue and helped her. Applebees Clip did NOTHING to resolve this! I would definitely not trust them with anything but cash. I've talked my neighbor into contacting corporate on Monday. Let's hope they do something about this. read more

My sister and I had the best experience while having a late night dinner all thanks to our server, Mya! We enjoyed the food! I called them and asked them if they could make some crispy chicken for it they ended up giving me a whole new salad with the same grilled chicken. Went here on Saturday. The food was fine the service was horrible. Alicen was our waitress. She took our orders didn't come back until our appetizer was almost gone to refill our drinks. Our wings(the other part of our appetizer) came out with the main meal. Once we got our main coarse we didn't see the waitress again until we stopped her to get our bill. I spent most of my meal without something to drink. It appeared to us that Alicen was more interested in talking to her friends that sat in her section then anyone else. We also noticed another table of hers go to the hostess stand a few times in order to get something because she never came around. And you also didn't see any manager walking around. Also it wasn't like they were busy. It was mostly empty. When I go again, if she is our waitress I will ask for a different one. read more

I frequent this restaurant one to two times a week. It has been great until they hired a new wait staff. It is AWFUL. Ordered a chicken Caesar salad but came with no chicken, vocalized the issue, came back once again with no chicken. Bread was also forgotten and fork took away to eat the meatless salad the 2nd time, no apologies from waitress. Never complain but asked for a manager for the first time. Why do I keep trying this restaurant? Yesterday I wanted a Chinese chicken salad; I got my meal through the carside service. When I got home I had brown lettuce and cabbage the size of my palm. NOT my first Rodeo. I have gotten a steak with grains (supposedly a lower calorie meal. OMG, the meal had a piece of fat nugget so large it made me sick to look at it. who would do that? Second time I've been to this restaurant, and was very disappointed both times, this time I used the restroom which was absolutely filthy, the waitress took our order, while we had our appetizers a bar tender had the cash drawer out on the bar and was counting money, seemed very inappropriate. So our dinners were served and about 2 minutes into eating them our waitress decided to vacuum all around us and almost under our table, very unprofessional. I will never go back here. read more

Cannot understand why any bad reviews would be posted about this Applebee's location. Other than a few immature, drifty hostesses who should never have been hired in the first place, this is what we've always encountered: Having visited many times for the soup and salad specials during the day, we have always been very pleased with the service and the food. Went for the Wifes Birthday. Ordered an Appetizer, with our dinner. Showed up with our dinner. Wife ordered a Soup and Salad, One would figure when your partner orders a full meal, salad would come out with mine?? Well the waitress, who was the WORSE, RUDEST, lady to ever wait on me!! On June 30, 2020 my daughter and I had dinner at the Clio MI location. It was my first time dining out since restaurants closed their dining rooms because of COVID. I was super impressed by the way everything was handled from the moment we arrived until we left. They didn't have a table ready for us, so they took some information and asked us if we minded waiting in our car until they notified us they were ready to seat us. After waiting for a short time, we received a text telling us we were next. They seated us at a table near the door and I was able to observe how the staff responded to each other and diners coming into the restaurant. I saw how the diners responded to having to wait for a table and being asked to wait outside or in their cars until a table was ready for them. Everyone was pleasant, polite and cooperative. Even a group of young men (guessing in their early to mid-20's) were perfect gentlemen. I am in my 70's and don't see that real often so I was really impressed. Everything seemed to be synchronized and everyone was following a very well thought out plan of action. It was like watching a well-oiled machine. Kudo's to the staff at Applebee's and to the wonderful patrons I saw that evening. Oh, and the food was delish! If I could have given 10 stars, I would have! Unfortunately this seems to be the new standard for these chain restaurants. First visit likely the lastTo take 48 mins for soup and salad lunch is reason enough to not return. The staff was average at best, but as I said, seems to be the new standard. This restaurant will only last as long as no competition comes along. Visited on 1/15/16. After browsing the menu, my daughter ordered the stir fry and I ordered the enchiladas. The enchilada dinner was $11.99, with the menu picture showing what appeared to be a decent sized meal consisting of 3 large enchiladas, with plenty of meat, and a side of rice. Upon receiving my dinner, I was shocked to see how much smaller the portion was that I actually received. I thought I had possibly received a lunch portion, as I received only 2 enchiladas that had no more than 2 tablespoons of meat per enchilada, with rice on the side. After expressing disappointment about what I received, I was told many of the meals served do not depict the pictures appropriately. If you expect to receive the portion sizes according to their pictures, or get a decent portion size for your money, you will be disappointed. Despite the very small portions, the wait staff was courteous, and the food came in a reasonable amount of time. read more

Great food, great service, and decently priced (especially during all of their specials). They have late night and weekday afternoon half-off appetizers, burgers for super cheap on Mondays with unlimited fries, etc. Specials are great. I have tried many of their items on their menu ranging from burgers to steaks to wings to their oreo shake desert. Never once have I been disappointed and go there about two, sometimes three, times a week with friends or family. My preference is Boneless Classic Wings. Those are the bomb. Definitely worth the visit, guaranteed satisfaction. read more

Had a horrible experience at Applebee's in Clio, Mich. Waitress named Taylor N, who bragged she was an EMT, got irritated when she asked for our drink order and I replied we were ready to order. "Well lets start with a drink first shall we?" she says and gets rude when we placed our order. She drops my salad on the table, walks away. I stop her as she walks by again and I ask for ranch dressing and where is my husband's soup, and she replied, "Give me a minute to get it. I have to charge you for the ranch." I told her there was no reason to be rude and she shouts "I'm not rude," causing people at 3 tables to turn and stare. End dinner and pay for bill, but we decided to leave no tip (we usually leave 20%) since Taylor was so rude and the waitress followed us into the parking lot where she began shouting at me for not leaving a tip. She flips me the middle finger and we tried to walk in to speak with her manager and she continued her verbal assault, while the male manager and 4 or 5 other employees hold this waitress down as she tried to get into my husband's face after he told her she should be fired and was a *itch. She grabbed my husband, who held his hand 2 feet from her face and told her to shut up, and she continues to try to lunge at him while her coworkers are pulling and pushing her into the restaurant. The male manager is telling her to stop and is apologizing to us while the waitress' female manager then writes down our license plates and called the cops. We stayed to speak to police and the female manager lied that her employee was not safe. I love applebees, always have. But always had to go to birch run to get it. Well now thay clio has this one i decided to go to it, keep in mind i live in clio. It was Noon on the dot, i went in for lunch. I was the only person eating, and the only person in the restaurant besides the staff of course. I ordered an apetizer, a salad, and my entre. I got all of them at the same time, and exactly 57 minutes later. Very specific with the time because after 30 minutes of you being the only one in the restaurant you tend to wonder whats going on, so i kept track of every minute after the half hour mark. AND OH, i had just an ice water with lemon, over this whole course, waitress only refilled it twice when it could've been refilled 5 times at least during the course of how long i was there. This applebees is dead to me, im still continuing to go to the one in birch run, even with living in Clio right next to one. Pathetic and disappointed. read more
