For budget-friendly dining, as chains go, this isn't a bad choice. The exchange student wanted to treat as thanks before returning home, but we didn't want him to break the bank with a nice steakhouse or something. We arrived and only had a short wait for a table. Service was good, but we did also want to try the pickle fries (the teen was keen on fried pickles everywhere we went that had them); the server forgot that part of the order, but it was rectified quickly enough. Those new pickle fries appetizer are really pretty good, and a novel take on other fried pickles we've tried in the last year. The spears are really cut more like small fries, which I think helps them fry up better. He and I both went for the Boneless Wings, Double Crunch Shrimp, Signature Riblets, and endless fries all-you-can-eat combo, which is a pretty good bargain at the price. I started with the wings, opting for the garlic parmesan. They were good. I then went with the Signature Riblets. Here is the point where I found out if you order something more, you only get a small plate of that thing, not the full plate with the fries. But that was my fault - you get endless fries but I declined having more fries because I wanted to not fill up on the starch, and focus on the proteins. The riblets were OK. The teen, who had started with the shrimp, reported that those were good. The atmosphere or ambiance? It's a typical Applebee's - American family restaurant. Nothing too super special, but they do try to include some local decor. read more

Bourbon chicken has always been amazing, and half price apps are always a win win go to. Other than that.... If you're at the bar the service is okay. The bartenders have their favorite regulars they socialize with and will only give you attention if you interrupt the conversation. One of the bartenders is flat out rude and can be overheard talking negatively about her coworkers at an unnecessary volume. Table service has always been decent. My family is pretty well known by the staff so we are usually taken care of. However the last six months there's been a huge push to use the tablets on the table for EVERYTHING. A 20% tip is not happening if you're making me order everything myself and not socializing. read more

We had a FABULOUS TIME for my BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION last night ! It is a perfect place to celebrate a birthday. The appetizers were enticing - Mozzarella sticks and Waffle fries ! The two Bourbon steaks , Cheeseburger and vegetarian meal were out -of -this- world delicious!! Our waitress was attentive and funny and down -to -earth. What an absolute garbage experience. My brother and I went for a late lunch today, got seated, and waitress brought us our drinks and took food order. 30 minutes later, waitress has disappeared, drinks are empty, and peiple who sat down 10 minutes after us are eating. Finally waitress shows up and offers a bogus "faulty computer" excuse. We order refills on our drinks and she assures us that our food order will be rushed to front of line in kitchen. My husband and I had dinner here last night. Our wait was only about 20 minutes which was nice. Our waiter was Christopher. He was awesome. Friendly and engaging. After I got the salad I ordered for dinner, I really wasnt into it anymore. He tried a few times to make me happy by bringing more dressing and noodles as there wasnt any noodles on it. I ordered delivery tonight since it was already dark and raining, I got my delivery earlier then estimated but when I opened my ordered I noticed I was missing a meal and I got a child size appetizer.. they initial that they check it too so idk what happened . But I called and spoke to the manager and he was awesome (I wish I remembered his name) he remade the whole order , included some Cinnabon swirls - OMG they are amazing btw!!! And said he'd also refund me and all I had to do was pick up , which was fine with me because after doing all that I can definitely go get it . And of course he apologized for the mix up . I'm not a big eater of chain restaurants, but wife was ready for a feast and I was ready for a beer (or 2), so we stopped in. Long story short, I was very impressed. The entrees were great. I got the Cajun themed Shrimp and chicken dish, and it was excellent. The brownie cake and ice cream dessert? Holy cow, Very good! The service today was particularly exceptional. Chris was great! The added bonus was his knowledge of various documentaries and the like. ---Some servers get stuck in robotic mode where the only thing they will talk is about how good or bad that day's weather is, or what you want to order. My family and I stopped here this evening for an early dinner. We each ordered the quesadilla burger with French fries and an order of nachos for the appetizer. My daughter had the chicken quesadilla with French fries. My girlfriend ordered a side of green beans as well. I ordered a beer while my girlfriend ordered a non alcoholic drink. The entire food experience was a serious let down. The burgers were tasteless aside from the pico de gallo and beef. The French fries were so overly salted that I couldn't even eat them while drinking a beer. Generally salty food is a bonus when drinking a beer but they pretty much had a pound of salt on them making them inedible. The green beans that were ordered was so over cooked there was not even a mild snap when you bit them they were just soggy and mushy over powered with garlic as well. When it comes to their so called awesome nachos we found them to be less than average. Pictured in the menu they looked amazing and covered with sliced jalapeños that were not cooked. What was brought to our table on the other hand was a bunch of corn tortillas that were barely covered with meat and cheese. We both laughed when we saw two jalapeños on the nachos and they were cooked and soggy. I asked the waitress for a side of jalapeños and she brought back a bowl of the cooked mushy peppers. We also noticed that the seeds were removed so not only were they nasty mushy black colored thin slices of pepper but they had zero spice. I tasted my daughters chicken quesadilla to make sure what she was eating was ok and that's what I found. It was ok but nothing special. Out of all the food her kids meal chicken quesadilla was the best on the table. Overall though the best thing was the Sam Adams IPA that I ordered. I think the waitress picked up on our displeasure as she asked if everything was ok twice. We said it was fine as we just wanted to get on the road and come home rather than wait for them to try to fix the dishes they couldn't get right the first time. I left her a 15% tip because the service was good and the food quality was not her fault. With all this said it will be our last visit to Applebee's after paying upwards of $75 after the tip. read more

Applebees is a fine spot to stop for some decent fare and a drink when your in our around the University Mall. The menu is constantly changing which I don't particularly like. We had a fantastic waiter the night we went he was attentive and very friendly. The food Isn't spectacular but for what it is it's decent. All Applebee's are about the same so if you have been to one you have been to them all. Worth a stop if you're doing some shopping and need a quick bite or drink, I wouldn't make the trip just for the restaurant, but I think that's a given. Hope this helps. read more

We had a pretty wonderful waiter who was patient with our party of seven, with special requests. Thomas is great! The food wasn't bad either, we did the half price appetizer with drink deal. I had a special holiday drink, Perfect Pomegranate Margarita and it was delicious. There's about four servings in total, one in the glass and three in the mixer. She connects with her customers 4 at a time plus made drinks for the restuarant and handled food orders and had a smile the whole time!
