After getting the cold shoulder from Barnaby's down the street, I came here for. Meal after working late. Ordered a medium steak and mashed potato's with a couple of Miller Lites. So good. Bartender was awesome, nice conversation, great food, great music, nice atmosphere. Appleby's really know how to do it right. Such a nice place to have local to my home. This evening I went to Applebee's in Aston Pennsylvania and ordered a oriental chicken salad. I ordered the chicken grilled, Instead, It was breaded and deep-fried with ice cold lettuce. The lettuce was so cold, It was very hard to enjoy the salad. It was absolutely the worst salad that I have ever had there. Applebee's in Aston, used to be so much better now everything is just thrown together. I know I should've sent it back, but the rest of my family had their meals and I didn't want to hold everyone up. The oriental salad was always my favorite. I've been a fan of this location since they opened so it's time. Many lunches and in the last 3 months,a few dinners. The minute you put your hands on the door someone is opening it for you and greeting you. But it doesn't stop there. Every person working there says " Hello" or "Welcome to Applebees" The reverse is true when you depart. " Goodbye and thank you for coming to Applebees, see you again" Is this Mayberry??? No, It's Aston, PA and this is one fine Applebee's! You can't go wrong with Applebee's new menus. 2 for $20 or 2 for $25. Whether it be a friend or the honey we always take advantage of this pricing. The staff at the Aston Applebee's is very cool and exceptionally well trained. That's a positive reflection on management. Kudos to all here ! read more

Not a bad Applebee's but it's in a very lonely location - they could use some neighbors. For some reason, I find it kind of creepy that they're so isolated when there is plenty of room for other restaurants and whatnot to join them. But I guess maybe they're trying to revamp the rest of Aston first (at least, that's what needs to happen!!!) Anyway, we stop in here every so often. I'm not quite as in love with their menu as I once was, but they do have good stuff there. I love their spinach salad with the warm bacon dressing, and their Asian wonton tacos are really really tasty. I was pretty ticked off during my last visit though which was last week. I was with my husband and our three girls and everyone's food came out at the same time except for my youngest daughter's - by the time she got her food (which was just their chicken and pasta alfredo type dish), the rest of us were almost done. Of course, the whole time we were waiting, the rest of us were sharing our food with her, so by the time she got hers, she was already pretty full, so in hindsight, I really should have just told them to take it back and take it off the bill. Anyway, it did make for a couple days of leftovers for her, but still, we were all pretty irritated. So I think I will stick to my "once in a while" routine of going to Applebee's, rather than the "at least once a month" like I used to do. read more

Not usually an Applebee's fan. Dragged here for COVID-19 takeout by my mother in law but--applebees did the job. My burger was cooked perfectly and was mighty tasty. They also got my substitution request for mashed potatoes instead of French fries right. MIL enjoyed her ribs, kid enjoyed her corn dog, wife enjoyed her salad. The kids received their appetizer platter. When the adults were almost done with their meals, we received our appetizer. When the adults were done eating, the kids received their meals. I have visited this Applebee's a few times in the past. Service has always been disappointing. Bar is uncomfortable. I don't know how to explain it but they make you feel awkward for having a few drinks. They will constantly ask if you want water or say "you okay?" And stare at you like they are babysitting you.... If I'm out on a Saturday night, why can't I have a few drinks? Applebee's advertises their $1 dollar drinks like crazy. And if I'm taking an Uber, what does it matter if I drink? It's Applebee's grill + BAR...right? Nonetheless, on Saturday afternoon We came in for a table to have a late lunch around 2pm. It wasn't crowded. We were quickly seated. And We sat there for like 15 minutes. Nobody took our drink order or even greeted us. For a chain, especially an Applebee's, that's horrible. this Applebee's is lacking in its service. My husband and I frequent the Aston Applebee's. On Sunday 8/1 we went there and was insulted. After being shown to our table, the person said he knows we are not savy enough to use the icon on the table to place our order. He proceeded to get us 1 menu and told us to share it. Worst restaurant, service wise. First we weren't greeted for almost an half an hour. Our server & other servers just kept walking past us, not even to see if someone else came to the table. Our server finally came to the table with an excuse that they just changed floor plans. Now if thats something they do around that time then she needed to be aware. She then grab our drinks & appts, and told us another server would be serving us because she was leaving for a family emergency. Low and behold. Crapplebee's. My 9 year old loves it here - and thus, we sometimes go. Oddly enough her 9 year old BFF's fam loves it here, too - so again - we are dragged here. The service is actually pretty good if you come at an off- peak time (Crystal is a lovely server). The food though? Ech! The kiddo & I shared a Two for $20 deal and I added $1 extra to get the 7 oz (tiny) steak. I asked for it rare and it had absolutely no flavor other than salt. The steamed white rice and brocolli were sitting in a pool of water on the plate. Blech! The overly fried and greasy boneless wing app drenched in a sticky-sickly-sweet sauce was all I ate and that was bad enough. Lord help us! There are so many better places to eat. This was the second time getting takeout in 2 months and both were extremely disappointing. Called our order in (because wife wanted some extra things on the side). Once I got home from picking it up, there was NOTHING she asked for, and wasn't even noted on the bill. She was not happy (which means my night is gonna suck). Food was also very expensive for a average at best food (not more specials so they hammer you on price). Guys, if you want to make your girl happy, DO NOT feed her this crap. For the same price (maybe even a few dollars less), please take the ride to Newark and grab Cheesecake Factory food. I have gotten takeout there a dozen times, and everything has always been amazing (and they give you complimentary bread which tasted great). I liked it because it was close to the gym and on my way home from work. I'm a bartender and when you work in the service/tipping industry, usually when you go out you tip well on decent service (especially when you have a good day at work.) One night I tipped one of the wait staff 20 on a $17 tab and now every time I go in she yells that her best friend is here and if I'm seated in someone else's section she asks me if im cheating on her and "steals" me from them. And she does it loudly, causing heads to turn. She hasn't asked me my name or what I do for a living or why I come in so much though. So her interest is blatantly fake and and embarrassing because I'm really quiet and just got off work and want to mellow out. I won't be going back there now. Been here a couple times with some friends for the $1 margaritas and food. The margaritas were basically what I expected. Not strong and cheap tequila but for a $1 it isn't bad. The most recent time I went I did the 2 for 20 deal with a friend. We got mozzarella sticks, which were really good and whiskey burgers. The burgers were a good size and came with fries. After we were seated the service after that was a little slow and it was not all that crowded, but the food was well made. This place is your standard Applebee's. I really only go there for the appetizers and the desert, I never really found any of the entrees to my liking. The service is good, I like their drinks and they offer some nice late night (after 9pm) specials. Each store tries to keep it local, so there is some Sun Valley / Chichester memorabilia on the walls but I think they cut down on all the random crap stuck to the walls. I've cut down on going here but people keep giving me gift cards. read more
