Had a great experience during my genius bar appointment this morning at 11:30. Calvin was extremely pleasant and super helpful, gave me some great tips for my MacBook, and generally seemed like a nice dude who knew what he was doing. There seemed to be an issue going on across the table from me with 2 women who were waiting for an appointment. There seemed to be a mixup and they were waiting for 20-25 minutes. I overheard them say that they were going to leave a particularly nasty review for the employee who attempted to help them. I would disregard this review, the apple staff were nothing but kind and helpful. I believe that they just did not hear the employee calling their name as they were quite into their own conversation. The pair across from me either seemed like they were having a bad day, were feeling rather vindictive, or just were just mean people. So I don't use apple, never have. But I decided to give the iPad and pencil combo a try for my university experience (architecture). When I got it I found it a bit odd how the pencil didn't work with many of the brushes in procreate (friends mentioned it was the best app). thought it was weird but maybe the pencil just had less functionality than i thought. So I spent the last 3 years using monoline and writing with it. Meanwhile I just tried someone else's pencil and theirs let me use any brush and the line thicknesses changed. Now, a bit frustrated on how my pencil clearly just didn't work from the get go, I've called twice, the first time they said they will work on it. And, now they said they closed the case right away right after the first call. I'm so pissed since they said it was out of warranty, but from my perspective idk how it could have been in warranty since it never functioned properly (and should just be its own case). they wouldn't let me plead a case as all they ever said was its out of warranty. Now I'm left with a pencil that is basically half as good as it was meant to be. read more

Came here last week to buy the iPhone XS as a b-day gift to my SO. The process was pretty quick, and painless. Didn't have to wait long for them to bring out the phone. Plus, the representative made little small talks here and there. However, if you're here to fix your Apple products at the Genius Bar then that's a different story. It can get pretty chaotic on the weekends so the wait times are unpredictable. Also, some employees are of course friendlier than others. The last time I was here (a month ago), I got a friendly lady who did the inspection. After that was done, I was passed to a technician who was this really emotionless lady (brown hair, glasses). I know she has a job to do, but would it killed her to have some emotion or reaction? It was like talking to a robot who went by a script. So I'd say my rating is more of a 3.5 overall based on several different experiences. read more

Such a great help, super kind, explained the problem & fixed it for me. Also gave tips on how to solve some other issues I had & overall had a great experience with him. I'm not a fan of Apple Stores - so know that going into this. Here's the thing - I don't really know how to shop here. I don't like having to ask for employees help. I just want to go in, find a product, pay and be gone. Well I went in, found the product, and then couldn't figure out how to pay for it. There was not cash. Some people probably love this - but, call me a traditionalist, I want a front cash. That and having to talk to the "geniuses" is never a smooth process. read more

Genius Squad is great at this location! I've had about three or four appointments at this place before, they're on point in terms of appointments and service, they are on top of their timelines. they also accept walk-ins "usually" which is something you won't find that often at other apple store locations, with a little bit of a wait time, you walk around the mall until your time arrives and they shoot you a couple of text messages before your turn comes, so you make it back to the store. The store is always crowded, so is any other apple store, but its easy to find your products and/or reach out for help by asking an associate. They are flexible in terms of fixing iPhones, I was offered new phones on three different occasions, with $0-minimal fees. The simplicity of being an iPhone user! read more

Like every Apple Store, be prepared to waaaaait! Appt or not, you will be here for awhile and the store is always jammed! I do find it a bit less congested than the square one location, which is nice. Another plus, there's wifi and plenty of seating (although that doesn't help you much if you're phoneless while they fix your cracked screen..!) Brought my iPhone here for a battery upgrade, made an appointment and was seen quickly. The staff ran diagnostics and noted my external phone condition to be "great". 1.5 hrs later when I returned for it there was a giant crack on my screen. Luckily it was only my glass screen protector. When I asked the Apple rep what happened she claimed not to notice or see it. It wasn't until I insisted there was a crack that they shot back "we're not liable for that". Main issues: -Confusing check-in process - staff should have acknowledged it was a risk to have a cracked screen upfront before starting the work - staff should have acknowledged the cracked screen and apologized instead of hoping I "wouldn't notice". Transparency would have gone a lot further with customer trust. read more

Submitted my computer for a $600+ repair and on the date is was due to be completed I called in to check on it's status... they informed me that is was being tested but almost finished and I could head in and would have to wait 30 min max but should be done. Upon arrival they informed me that they were still performing diagnostics though it would be ready in no more than 30 min and they would call me to let me know so I went and had lunch, no big deal. 45 minutes later I hadn't heard anything so went and inquired about it's statues at which point they informed me it still had 1 hour minimum left for "diagnostics" to be done at which point I informed them of what I had been told and that it was unreasonable to have me come in and waste my workday waiting on changing timing and asked if they could do anything for me like I would do with one of my customers if I'd messed them around intentional or not... the manager came out and very nicely said no apple does not compensate you for wasting your time... I didn't exspect anything major, any minor gesture would have done. Lots of other up and coming computer companies and phones out there for way less, maybe I'll use them for my business from now on. read more

Apple has been no help at all. I had the beats solo3 and they turn them selves on and off. I called and scheduled a repair because it was within the first year and they said they would replace them. So the repair service claims there was damage even though there has not been any damage so they won't fix them without me paying. Why are Apple stores so busy all the time? They only sell 5 things and you can see them all online. The service at this Apple store is great. I have been here twice for iMac repairs (with an appointment) and both times they have fixed the computer with no hassel, and within 24 hours. I really enjoy browsing their accessories section too but it can get expensive. Today I randomly bought an iPad holder that attaches to a mic stand. Seriously, I probably don't need this. I also can't believe how popular their 1:1 training is. Today, at 1000 on a Wednesday, there were 10 different training sessions happening in the store. And every person was over 50. read more

The Sherway Apple store used to be good once, and I still find it better than the rest. I am just not sure I find Apple's new plan to hire "yuppie" teenagers appealing. Where are my older Geniuses?! Behind the doors, Googling what's to be done next. In any case, the service at this store still rocks. Wait time for walk-ins are about an hour to two hours. And diagnosis/fix time is another hour. I love (almost) all things Apple; we've had Macs in our household since the late 1980s. So it's always a treat to loiter around the Apple Store and droll at all the cool new computers (which by now can kick the crap out of my three-year-old iMac) and add-ons in Apple's temple of minimalism. That said, I don't have much use for the Apple Store, since I don't need to get help from their "geniuses", and I can just order the computers from Apple online (over $75 gets you free shipping and saves you a trip to the retail store). They don't stock the weird stuff that I occasionally need, either. I was last here to track down some replacement rubber "feet" for my mom's old iBook, but they didn't have 'em around; nevertheless, the staff here were still helpful and sympathetic. read more

Worst experience ever in that store. Went in to buy an apple watch 4. Waited so long to be able to ask a question. Everyone keeps saying they can't help as it's not their station right now the sales guy Gary finally helped us. He didn't know much for the apple watch for the questions I had. But he was a nice and wasn't rude at all. After buying it, he sent us to the "Set up" station where a guy named Michael was to help us set up the apple watch as I never had 1 before. I sat down. Not even a greeting from him. There was an elderly couple on the same table. I wasn't sure what to do. Anyhow I removed my watch from the box and I asked him some questions. The stare and the awkward silence was just wow. He didn't even say anything. I asked him if he knows what am talking about? He said hmm no. Then he just turned and starting chatting with the other person. I asked him another simple question, now he made as if he couldn't understand what am saying. Had to spell FALL for him then he understood i was asking about the fall feature on the apple watch. then he said no he doesn't know anything about this feature. Then again without even asking if i have any other questions he started chatting again with other person. My husband ended doing the setup himself on my phone. I asked Michael if I can have a charger my phone as my battery was low and the set up was still going on. He said charger ya sure. We waited and waited. He went to another station chatting. The couple on our table started asking my husband questions on their phone as Michael kept going back and forth and clearly not helping them. Well i never got a charger. Michael just went standing on an empty station without helping me or the couple at the table. I regretted coming to this store to buy my watch. I went to buy an iPad pro, could get any of the staff to look in my general direction. I really hope Sherway Gardens Apple store's customer service is not a reflection of Apple's new approach in service delivery. terrible, TERRIBLE experience. I was at the Fairview location two weeks ago hoping to fix my MacBook from startup issues. I was informed that my laptop was kaput - but my files could be salvaged. I was advised to buy or bring a hard drive to have my files transferred over. I purchased a hard drive today and went to the Sherway location to initiate this transfer. Checked in, explained the issue, explained my exchange with another apple representative two weeks prior at the Fairview location. This guy.. starts by telling me how I received the wrong information, and I would be better served by walking over to Canada Computers and buying some hardware that would connect with my hard drive. I pushed back, citing that this was contrary to the info I received two weeks prior. He took my laptop to the back, took my hard drive out, (without my permission) and went on a whole n'other approach in recovering my files. He now tells me that there are no files on my hard drive and it might be damaged. Again - I pushed back, asking him how my hard drive could have been damaged after being told two weeks ago that it was fine. He told me hard disks are fragile and that they have the tendencies to crash. So I asked him - what guarantee do I have hen, that if i purchased a brand new mic right now, my hard drive wouldn't haphazardly stop working. His response? "You don't. Hard drives get damaged all the time. That's why it's important to back up." At this point I'm just beside myself. Does he even know what he's talking about? I ask him to engage in the same process I witnessed at the Fairview location two weeks ago, connecting a network cable, booting my laptop using another OS (since mine was faulty). I also requested he did this with me and not take my laptop to the back and return with some BS answer. We plug my laptop in and surprise? My supposed corrupt hard drive is intact, with all my files. I plug in my external drive - and he seems to not know what to do. I suggested that my hard drive was brand new and he would need to format it for Mac. My files begin to transfer with an estimated waiting time of 3hours. The representative excuses himself to work with other clients - not providing any option of coming back for my laptop once the transfer is complete. I ask another agent nearby if it would be alright if I grabbed my jacket (since their AC is too much) as I wait, or better - if I can come back for my laptop. He tells me I can't leave my laptop unattended and there's a washroom in the back. I then asked if he could watch my laptop for a few minutes as I run to my car for a sweater. He simply tells me that Apple will not be responsible for my laptop should it go missing. As I write this I'm still waiting for this transfer. So disappointed with this service. Dramatically different than what I received prior to making various Apple purchases. I guess the message is - "we will treat you will so long as you are gonna guy something. But we don't give a s%*#t about you, neither will we provide you quality service, if you need help after a major purchase." I know this isn't a reflection of Apple globally. But Sherway Gardens? i suppose it was so busy, it seemed like all the people were at the back of the store and i couldnt seem to find anyone for the front of the store. I guess they were all handling issues, but was anyone assigned to be selling that day? So i didnt buy anything. Now the impulse has passed. Oh well. The money stays in my pocket. Be aware if you get a replacement phone, it's a refurbished. And could well be faulty. my phone was replaced before traveling, within 48 hours. The screen was acting up, while I was 5000 miles away. Was stuck with it all my trip! Spoke to the manager about it. They cared less... When I pay $1050 for a phone, I expect service and replacement units that work. It's fine to go here if you want to buy an Apple product. But if you have to have a repair -- beware! This has to be the worst managed Apple store I have ever encountered! I have owned Apple computers since 2006, while living on 2 continents and many cities. Because my 2006 Macbook was the first version out, it needed many repairs. It was repaired in Bratislava (top case and motherboard), Vienna (heat sink), New York (top case) and Boston (fan). In every single case, it was repaired while I waited. My next macbook, an 11" Air, needed no repairs in the 4 1/2 years I owned it. In January of this year, I bought the new 12" 2015 macbook. Again, the first version of a macbook, but because of my prior repair experience, I wasn't worried. But within a few weeks, the cursor started jumping out of place while I typed. Then I felt an electrical buzz under the palm rest once or twice. Then the trackpad stopped working altogether and I had to restart to get it working again. At that point, I brought it in to Sherway Gardens and was told it needed a new top case -- AND that this would take 3-5 days even though the piece needed was in stock. I was upset. Like many people, I use this computer for work, and to be unable to work for 3-5 days is absolutely unacceptable. But this is the thing that REALLY made me angry: when I told the manager that this length of time was unacceptable, she raised her voice so that other customers could hear her, and proceeded to tell me that I could not jump the line - I had to wait my turn like everyone else. I never said I wanted to jump the line. In fact, my point was that the Sherway Gardens store needs to hire more repair technicians! This seems especially clear given that she told me the 3-5 days was among their SHORTER waits for a repair. But she addressed me in such a way as to make other customers think I was being unreasonable. I actually remember witnessing such a conversation in this store at another time - and believing the customer was, in fact, asking to jump the line. It was a dirty trick. I had to leave the brand new computer -- I need it for work, and it is unusable when the cursor jumps around from line to line. But I will move heaven and hell to find another Apple Store to patronize -- hopefully one that invests in repair techs so that Apple Customer Service can continue to deserve its excellent reputation. read more

These guys are awesome!!!!! I had a stolen iPhone 4, that was my daughters, returned to me after almost 7 months! Yes, it was found! Problem was, that after 7 months, and multiple "password" changes, she couldn't remember what at password she had used on the phone. Contacting Apple Care, and providing them with ample information to prove I was the honest owner (copy of Police report, emails, plus the Serial Number and IMEI number) they had the phone reset/restored. Then, when trying to set it up again, it wouldn't allow our because the phone (serial number) was being recognized "in the cloud" and had be be deleted. We couldn't get into the Apple ID for that particular phone anymore, so I figured I just had an expensive paper weight! Visiting the Apple Store at Sherway, and showing them everything again, it only took about 15 minutes for them to delete it "from the cloud" and reset it as a usable phone again! Kudos to Apple! You guys are amazing! My daughters both have iPhones, Mom and Dad, Android's. I'm thinking I'm about to switch to Apple! Thanks again! read more

Call me an Apple fanboy, but this store is great. I always get the greatest service here. The staff is quite friendly no matter if you are an expert or novice. Absolutely no Jimmy Fallon's "Nick, your company's computer guy", SNL types working here. The workshops are also interesting and free. March 8th, 2021 had the camera module on my iPhone 12 Pro Max replaced at this store. Two weeks later the cameras begging fogging up on the inside, despite the liquid damage indicator on the sim tray or the light port suggesting any liquid had entered the phone. Attended the store on March 30th, 2021, a technician opened my phone and found liquid around the camera module (what a coincidence) which suggest to me that the phone was not sealed properly when the camera was replaced. Since remnants of water was located in the camera module they wanted to charge me $880.27 for a replacement device, however I declined since everything on my phone was in perfect working order besides the cameras periodically fogging up on the inside. Upon exiting the store I noticed that face id was now not operating accordingly which it was when I handed them the device and this was confirmed by the "genius" during his diagnostics. I returned to the store not even 5 minutes after exiting and they refused to troubleshoot my face id and told me to pay $880.27 or leave the store. I asked them to show me the pictures that they took of the "water damage" on my phone and they refused which I captured them on a recording telling me they were not going to show me the photos with no reasonable explanation and even at one point told me that if I wanted to see the water "damage" I should go home and open up the phone myself. They further advised me that it was "illegal" to record their voices, even though I made it clear that I was not recording their voices to slander them but in order to further escalate the situation with the proper department. Not only that but (Dina and Shanice) please educate yourselves as there is no law in Canada that prevents anyone from recording any interaction in a setting where there is no reasonable expectation of privacy, such as A MALL HALLWAY (front of the store) which is where our conversation took place. Anyways, horrible service by Shanice and Dina. At no point did I ask for any handouts, just wanted my device returned the same way that I gave it to you guys. read more

The epitome of anti-consumer and anti-competitive behaviour, with a dose of marketing genius all rolled up into a retail location. I admire the tenacity of the company and brand, but cannot bring myself to buy any of their overpriced, lacklustre, and limited functionality products. I am not an "apple fan boy" or "apple head", but sometimes wonder into the apple store to have a look around for amusement. The stores are furnished with ikea and staffed with hipsters. What is amazing is that you can purchase apple products at other retailers for less money, but people still buy them here. However, most people in the store juts seem to be there just looking at products and not actually buying anything. All of the i-accessories are priced excessively expensive versus other retailers, and they stock goofy things such a Bluetooth cooking scale and BBQ thermometer with i-OS apps. These are products that I cannot understand why people would buy in the first place, and especially not at the prices listed in the retail store (do a Google search, you will find it cheaper elsewhere). The redeeming factor is that if you are technology unsavoury and/or need friends, they provide ongoing free lessons on how-to use Mac-OS and i-OS based products at no charge. Not my cup of a tea, but if it floats your boat, go for it. read more

I'll definitely echo a previous review: "Steer clear of this place!". By far the WORST customer service I've ever experienced in my life. I went in for my 'appointment' only to be seated on an uncomfortable stool and left there for 15minutes. The individual I originally dealt with was great...despite going back and forth and leaving me waiting for 15minute intervals. Finally, (now over two hours later), I was told by a manager that my iPhone 5S64Gb wouldn't be repaired because it had been serviced elsewhere. Now here are the funny parts: 1) It absolutely wasn't 2) It's under a full Apple care warranty...so WHY would one PAY to get it 'serviced' somewhere else when they could get it fixed for FREE?!?! The so-called manager 'Grace DaPonte' was arrogant, condescending, blatantly rude, and a disgrace to Apple (probably to any company he'll ever work for if he lasts at Apple much longer). I left almost in tears and beyond disgusted. There really is no explanation for the treatment I received today other than Mr.DaPonte's measly bonus cheque must depend on how many repair claims he denies. What a disgrace. Thank goodness my company still uses blackberry...looks like I'll be switching for my personal phone now as well. read more

Staff standing around with customers having to wait endless amounts of time only to be told that it's too late and since the store is closing in two hours, "we can't help you"! "Come back tomorrow" they say yet the same thing happens again! Apple Sherway needs to look at their service delivery model and throw it out with the iPhone X! Let me just start by saying I've been with Apple for a while now and they do make great quality products however, I've never liked the way they've laid out their store - especially when it comes to their "genius bar". It really sucks. Because they have the sales floor and "genius bar" all kind of meshed into one, the store is constantly packed and the "sales representatives" and "apple geniuses" are all dressed the same. So first you have to try to find someone who is free. Good luck with that. Then whoever I find free I usually get "Oh you need to talk to this person" and they seem annoyed. Maybe it would help if there was a desk with a sign saying "check in here for appointments" instead of this blended eco-system that just becomes a giant mess. Then once you find the right person, they'll sit you down in a random chair in the store and you wait. (Just like the doctor's office) Usually late, a rep will come by and try to troubleshoot. They're clearly in a rush as their appointments are every 15 mins and you feel it (again, just like the doctor's office). My latest issue is my laptop, still under apple care, was showing a bright blue screen of death. I did some troubleshooting at home and figured the issue is the graphics card. I advised apple of this issue. They said we should replace it. What do they do? They replace the logic board instead and I still have the same issue. Thanks for wasting my time apple. So now I have to book another appointment and go through this all over again. Fun. read more

I received an iPad when I purchased my car but it wasn't what I wanted. I called Apple Store Sherway to find out if I could upgrade it. They said to bring the bill of sales for the car and they would be able to upgrade the iPad when I paid the price difference. Went to the store and they refused to exchange it. The iPad is in original packaging and was never opened. After spending 30 minutes wasting time talking to the "manager" I left. The manager (Joe?) claimed the iPad was not purchased from Apple that it was bought from a 3rd party. He refused to scan the iPad to check if it was from Apple store or not. I contacted my car dealership and they sent me the information about the iPad it *was* purchased from Apple directly. It seems the manager just didn't want to help. read more
