Waiting to be seen. By a genius. Apparently. Very organised. Like an army if little apple ants with iPads working in sync.

Really dont know what has happened to this place over the past year. The friendly old guard seem to be disappearing and being replaced with rude, egotistic and downright unhelpful staff. Went in there to purchase an iPhone 5 a few days ago, first guy was brilliant and cheerful, second guy not so - he came across a bit like he was in love with himself, no problem though - he got the job done for me. Went back when inevitably the phone developed a fault, theres this guy there called Malcolm with a beard. Went over to him, playing dumb at first, he must've seen this as an opportunity to impose himself on the customer, I knew the policy, I knew what I was entitled to, as a result I also knew he was pushing me the wrong way. I argued lightly with him at first - he saw this as a further opportunity to impose himself in a rude manor and try talking to me as if I'm a child. So, eventually when I came down on him good and proper did his little customer service skills come out and he finally got me sorted through a chain of about 4 people. This place is no where near what it used to be. Its actually quite patronising to walk in there now. read more

If you must buy from Apple then AVOID THIS STORE. THIS WAS MY WORST CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE FOR YEARS!! It took multiple follow up phone calls to get a receipt for an iphone and they eventually admitted that they knew that, in spite of earlier assurances, a receipt was likely not to arrive by email. Apparently they've had a problem with btinternet for months - so tried to blame it on BT. But they were still happy to accept BT internet email addresses and not to suggest paper receipts on purchase or on my first day of follow up calls or when I asked customer service to put one in the post,. After going via their call center the local manager ('Colin' - he refuses to give his full name)has now promised to send one by post, but I'll believe it when I see it. He didn't seem very bothered by my extreme dissatisfaction - perhaps it's not uncommon for this store The attitude to customer service (at one point I was just left hanging listening to music) is terrible. To be fair the chap at the call centre seemed pretty shocked by my experience and it was via him that I eventually got to talk to 'Colin'. If nothing else I would recommend buying form Apple via the internet - not the Arndale store. This experience has changed my view of Apple completely. I have a lot of Apple devices and guess I had bought into the Apple image - but then when I googled for Apple complaints (while hanging on the phone!) I started to learn about the conditions in their Chinese factories. Anyway, I will not be buying Apple devices in the future. read more

A glimpse into an Apple-dominated utopia. The hhorror. The hhhorror. The place was mobbed. Still, I went in with a broken iPod and they replaced it (within warranty) so fair play. Staff were perfectly helpful, but their jolly spirits were a tad unnerving. And I had to queue for 30 minutes. The Apple dream / nightmare engulfs you throughout. Ironic then that I-tuned out by taking advantage of the free in-store Wifi...on my iPhone. iPod exchanged, I meandered through the 12,000 Apple staff in store and did one. This Apple store sells all of their amazing technology you could possibly want. They have all the latest iPods, mac book laptop and lots more including accessories. They have everything set out really well so you don't miss everything. I like how you can also try to products out before you buy them so you can get a good feel of it. read more

The Apple store is a place to see the latest technology apple has to offer. In the Arndale it is modern and bright and a place to see their phones, computers and other gadgets. The prices are the usual RRP and it is always very busy. If you are a Apple lover and Tech-nut then it is highly recommended. The staff are friendly and is worth a look. Recommended. read more

Whether or not it is down to the almost non-stop product placement on television shows and movies, or the technical working of the machines themselves I know that I want an Apple Mac. They are far more expensive than regular PCs, but they look much better and allegedly are less prone to breaking. Actually, I'm not that bothered about getting one, I just think I am. There, that settles it it was the product placement wot did it, honest. It's a pretty interesting store to have a look round, plus the staff are very friendly you can tell that Apple is cool because even the geeks who work there have tattoos and have piercings. The second Apple store in Manchester (the other at the Trafford Centre) and very welcome it is too. You're hard pressed to get a good deal on macs with only one or two affiliated franchises saving you a small bob or two. As you would expect from Apple the design of the store is superb. It completely blows the PC/electrical store competition out of the water - no insistence on taking out useless insurance here - with a sleek and pleasant, and admittedly hypnotic soft sell. You'll want to own most of the items in this store - the current British Apple product designer (Jonathan Ives) is nigh on a genius in his approach to creating gorgeous, and practical items. The iMacs have always caught the eye but of course now iPods rule the MP3 world with others struggling to get a grip. All these fancy products are aligned perfectly with your commercial weak spot a mere cm or two behind your eye sacks. The staff are extremely knowledgeable and helpful, although the 'Genius Bar' is a little ***...saying that, I succumbed to macs a couple of years back and they are indeed fantastic machines - and the said bar was really helpful in fixing the only problem I ever had with the machine (and it was the mouse at fault). They are pricey but pound for pound (and in my opinion) are a superior product. Perhaps a waste of money if you only intend to browse and play games but if you need it for certain types of work they'll hardly ever let you down. I popped in this store recently to take a look at the new airbookand once again apple have created a marvelous looking piece of kit. I'd only hope for apple to build a stand alone store rather than slotted into shopping centres - the stores in New York and Tokyo are stunning. read more

Apple stores are ace. Fact. This one is no exception, all the gizmos are here along with the friendly helpful and knowledgable staff. Why most customers don't get past the ipod is beyond me. Everyone should own a Mac! read more

Every time I go into the apple shop I want to buy something. The shop is very customer friendly and the staff are great. I bought a mac last year and the staff were really friendly and helpful and I wasn't pressured into buying anything. I've been really happy with everything I have bought from there and the continuing customer care. They also offer discounts for students I think it's about 15% which can be useful. read more

This Apple store is very modern and spacious and fresh. The staff are very helpful and the genius bar is a life saver! They sell every type of iPod imaginable and all the gadgets to go with them. The staff are more than happy to let you try everything out, which includes blasting music from the speakers. read more

A truly horrible experience. My daughter made an appointment to have her iPhone screen replaced. The appointment was made for 2.30pm, but we were kept waiting for nearly half an hour. I spoke to an assistant who explained that they were busy, hence the delay. I asked what was the point of an appointment system if they couldn't keep to the allotted time. Clearly the appointment system is ineffective. I spoke to 4 assistants in total and each one was extremely arrogant, and there was no apology for keeping us waiting. Extremely successful as they are, it would appear that their success has breeded an attitude of not caring about customers as their products will sell anyway. read more

I haven't managed to come across many Apple stores but I always have a quick browse in the ones I do come across. This shop is quite small but you'll find all the latest Macs, Macbooks, ipods, other hand held gadgets and gizmos, speakers, headphones and accessories to suit you apple needs. There are friendly staff who will recommend you products on request. Prices are as high as the quality being sold. Everything looks so slim, chic and it has the whole tyrendy vibe. sorry genius people but the only genius is my son in law who knew of a known fault in the imac 2005 editions and saved me over £1000 if anyone as the intel imac from 2005/06 and it has vertical lines running down it apple will replace and fix this for free even if out of warranty (mine was 5 years out of waranty) read more

I went to the Apple store in Arndale today very frustrated with the issues i am having with my iphone 5. The staff here were fantastic and put my mind at ease. 30 mins later i left with a brand new replacement iphone. I am delighted with the outcome and it was very nice to have such a friendly personal service. read more

recently went to the apple store with my iPhone 5s after a well known phone shop couldn't sort the problem out, the tech guys at apple sorted it in 5 mins from now on any problems with my mac or iPhone ill go straight there. instead of dealing with incompetent morons read more
