A close friend of mine had suggested I meet with a therapist to alleviate my worries. At first, I was hesitant of the idea as it's often uncomfortable to tell a stranger your personal thoughts and feelings about your life, but all the uncertainty disappeared after my initial telehealth session with Dr. Chan. Dr. Chan was not only caring and knowledgeable, but she gave very thoughtful feedback and suggestions on how to implement little practices into my daily routines and tasks that were triggering my anxiety. With a very relaxed demeanor, our sessions felt more like a friend just being there for me through these hard times. The conversations just flowed naturally, and Dr. Chan remembered every little detail I mentioned as if she had known me a long time. With just a few sessions, I feel a lot more calm with her advice. I'm viewing the obstacles that life throws at us as opportunities to grow instead of fearing them. The idea of therapy sessions initially seemed scary, but I highly recommend anyone that had similar hesitations to meet with Dr. Chan, as I had a very uplifting and positive experience.

This was all gathered from my first impression with Ms. Chan when the child of my close friend had their first visit. It wasn't until the follow-up visits that I saw the consistency in her care that I decided to write this review, cos when it comes to wellness you do not want to recommend the wrong people to others. A great plus is that the grandparent was able to come along for the next visit and understood what was going on with their grandchild cos Ms. Chan aside from English also speaks Cantonese, Mandarin and surprisingly Chiu Chow too! Aside from mental health, during my waits I noticed Ms. Chan also provides services for education as well, from advocacy to assessments. The visits so far have been great, my friend's child is in a comfort zone with Ms. Chan and is helping my friend better understand her child's case on hand. However it's not just toddlers or teens only, I've seen families and couples visit too!

It appears they do not accommodate single parents. I have been told by a few single parents they…read morehave to make the decisions on where you do your clinicals for respiratory therapy. Single parents are making huge sacrifices to go to school, so they do not have to depend on government assistance and then you gaslight them, making them feel bad because they have obligations. School is first, I'm sorry, children are first and always will be. Did you forget about DCFS, if you don't take care of your kids they will. We want parents to strive for success and not sabotage their career by adding another hurdle in the way of supporting their kids on their own. I read another negative yelp on respiratory therapy after I posted mine. My hope this helps single parents who are searching for a career about their decision to attend this school for respiratory therapist. I also hope it changes the direction and focus of the school to help support our future. This is a technical school to learn a trade and it can be costly to choose this route. Let's support our future by talking to them, not making them feel bad because they have kids or other responsibilities with them, instead let's encourage, support and provide empathy to help them complete their desire to flourish as a respiratory therapist.

Words cannot describe what a joke the respiratory therapy program at Platt College - Alhambra is…read more So I'll just post my story and what I found from my research. This is one of those reviews "if I can give negative stars", I would types. I've already emailed both Chris Becker and Megan Clifton earlier this year and no one has responded. I've listened and did everything Nicole and my instructors told me to do and still had a difficult time passing my boards and finding a job. I've got no response when emailing them for help, but they (Nicole and Platt college) expect me to respond to their surveys. It just felt like half of the cohort I was with were failing. I won't say what year I finished. I know I'll be gaslit. So onto what I discovered. I googled the pass rate for this school. Imagine my glee when I saw the abysmal performance. If you don't trust me, search "Respiratory Care Board pass rates" and you should eventually find a pdf document with the pass rates for this school and other campuses. I'll attach an image illustrating what I saw.  If you got 50-60% on a test, you would fail right? But these guys who were getting BELOW the state AVERAGE for the past few years get to keep their job. I like to remind you that I informed Chris Becker (the college president) of this. Basically about half of the students who attend this school for respiratory therapy end up becoming licensed respiratory practitioners. I will admit that I'm writing this with a little bit of bitterness. Imagine the staff with roughly a 50% pass rate telling you you're not knowledgeable enough. I honestly think this school is brought the state average down lol. In the end, numbers don't lie.

It was frustrating that the Director/Owner ignored my messages despite my trying multiple times to resolve the issue with the site director before reaching out to her. The staff says what you want to hear, but again and again no change is made. Disappointing from an owner that is a former educator so she is well aware of the screen time limits and recommendations for elementary aged children. I have noticed that some sites are being run much better than others, so be aware to actually check on what your child is doing each day there after homework is done. Don't rely on the staff, but check internet usage and ask your child. Maybe your school site program differs.
