AUGUST 2025, Our foursome were in town for a wedding. We were able to secure an 18-hole tee time 2-weeks in advance. We all needed and clearly requested Rental Clubs and Golf Bags over the phone in advance because we were travelers from Out Of Town. We were all experienced golfers with established Handicaps. None of us had ever played the course so we were really looking forward to it! -Well manicured Orchard Fairways and Greens. -Beer & soft drinks available for purchase. Unfortunately no "easy to purchase" food or snacks at ProShop. A small "Grab and Go Fresh Sandwich Cooler Display" would be beneficial. Missed business opportunity there! -Clueless staff in ProShop barely greeted us and struggled to provide the Rental Clubs we reserved in advance. We were all charged the Full Price plus Greens Fees. After teeing off right on time, our group happily started play. By the 5th hole, we realized all our rental bags were very dirty and full of rips. One bag had nothing but a few tees, some old candy wrappers, no spare balls or markers. Most of the clubs were grimy and mismatched. After 9-holes we had to stop at the turn and go back to ProShop b/c one golf bag had five of the same 7-irons! Really?! One Golf Driver was completely dented on the back side. No Excuses! Plenty of staff working there. So Disappointed in the lack of Customer Service! We were friendly and courteous to all Golf Attendants. We did complete our Golf Round. Our Pace Of Play was excellent. We were always waiting on the group ahead of us. Unfortunately there were very limited logo Golf Shirts or any other merchandise available for purchase, at the end of our round. -Management can do better with small improvements in training their staff and prioritizing how they treat their customers! read more

Beautiful course. Very good condition. Greens were fair and rolling nicely. Parking lot was unpaved and rough. Clubhouse staff very friendly and helpful. . Played on a Saturday morning and pace of play was reasonable with no delays. Would definitely recommend this course. read more

My family and I played Apple Greens a 100 Times from 1997 thru 2003. Now 15 years later I am back playing golf. So glad I returned $33 to walk on weekday. 4 hour round. The course is just as beautiful as 2003. Plush fairways. Nice greens and real sand in bunkers. Beautiful Catskill views. So many of the staff remembered me. They are just as nice as I remembered. I will be playing once a week again, at my favorite course. So worth the drive from Westchester NY. Returned 7/31/18 and the round was 3 hours and 13 mins. Walking That is unbelievable for such a beautiful public course. read more

great course! paved cart paths, beautifully manicured greens and well attended to fairway. tee boxes are level and appropriately directed. perfect course for a bogey golfer. I am an 18 handicap and I shot 89. how perfect is that? I am here for a week and rather than finding another course I will play here again. people on the phone and in the pro shop are very friendly and helpful. tough to beat this place. read more

I have been frequenting Apple Greens for years now. Not only is the course beautiful and challenging, the staff is friendly, helpful and are so welcoming. The food is great and they even have a beautiful barn for events. This is one of those places that can truly be considered a gem of New York. PS. Not sure what some of these other reviews are talking about, I have only had pleasant experiences here and the golf course dog Mo is nothing short of awesome. read more

I went to green acres today after the rain storm and it was wonderful. My cousin and I played the last 9 holes of this large 27 hole golf course. No one of out on the course. Nice greens and mostly wide open fairways. The restaurant was closed so we went to the shell gas station close by and picked up beer, chips and water. The owner and staff at the golf course didn't mind us drinking outside beers. My favorite public golf course I have ever played at in the Hudson valley. read more

This is a great course, but moderately expensive to play at. It's a 27 hole regulation size course that is open to the public, but it's usually a good idea to make tee times in advance (especially if you're going with other people). The course has a starter, rangers, and occasionally beverage girls that come around on carts. They have drinking water every few holes and there's a nice restaurant at the 10th hole where you can stop and get food to go in between sets of 9 holes. You can call in your order from the 8th hole. The third set of 9 holes is located across the road (holes 19-27) and is the newest part of the course. The course is set in the middle of apple orchards, but has its share of wooded areas too. The fairways are IMMACULATE. Hitting off the fairways feels like hitting off a green. The greens are even more immaculate. They maintain everything at this course very well. Weekends are ridiculously busy here. Even on weekdays, there is a steady flow of people and there is almost always a backup at some point. I've had instances where it took me 7 hours to play 18 holes. The course has some rare but fun designs, including a large, 20+ foot rock wall surrounding the front of the elevated green on the 5th hole. The 3rd hole is over 600 yards with an abrupt downhill dropoff around 200 yards out. The course has its share of water hazards and sand. The sand is always maintained and in great shape, just like you'd see on the courses on TV. This course is top notch, but you get what you pay for. Electric cart fees are charged per person, not per cart, and this is in addition to the greens fees. Electric carts are mandatory on weekends, and are mandatory daily on holes 19-27. Playing 18 holes with a cart will cost around $50 per person on a weekday. read more

Food was excellent and the prices were super reasonable. We got the green apple salad, Southwest salad and cheeseburger for $35. All were excellent. The waitress was super friendly and since no one else was in the restaurant she let out toddler run around and get some energy out and even gave him a golf ball to play with. We stopped in the middle of a long drive but if we're ever in the area again, we'll definitely be back. read more

Seriously the BEST FISH N CHIPS I've EVER had....not greasy at all....light, crispy, fish cooked perfectly.....and the lobster Mac is amazing too! Amazing course and restaurant and such a great staff. We hosted our New Paltz Athletic Dept. Golf Tournament there on April 26th for the 13th straight year and it was another very successful event. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly from planning the event to the day-of to clean-up. The course is spectacular and even with rain on and off all week and rain the day of, we were able to get the event in without any issues. The course is a must play if you are coming to this area - it is well kept and the views are beautiful - you will not be disappointed. The BBQ dinner is always a hit and the restaurant did an awesome job preparing for our large group. I highly recommend the course for any big tournaments and events and highly recommend the restaurant as well. All the meat dishes were dynamite and the cornbread and mac and cheese are must adds! Also, we used the Barn on hole 20 for our dinner and it is a must see! The staff did an awesome job preparing the Barn to look beautiful for our end of event reception and even brought in heating lamps to help with the chilly temps. It is the perfect open set-up if it is a beautiful day (You will leave with some amazing pictures!!!), but even in colder temps with rain, they can cover the sides and make it the perfect venue. Nice track. Water on several holes but fairly wide open and not too long from the white tees. Was able to get through the round without hitting driver. Greens were in great shape and very receptive but a tad on the slow side. read more

One of the last 18 hole golf courses in the area so they know they can treat the players however they like. The rangers are everywhere and ridiculous in their pursuit to keep you on the cart path every single second. Their approach in correcting you is aggressive and unfriendly. The course is lined with Apple trees which is beautiful but lends itself to lots of rocks and roots that are on almost every fairway. Try to play out of those trees and you are met with reprimand. The starters are militant and push you to start at the exact time you reserve. Not a second early or a second late. The clubhouse is reminiscent of a high school cafeteria. Counter service is the only thing you can bank on and that is even spotty. The food is sub par and the drink selection is no -existent. The course is stunning but is operated by people that enjoy the market share with little respect or appreciation for the golfers that put them in that position. read more

Played on August 30th in the pm, was busy but not pushed. The fairways were in the best condition as i have ever seen them and greens were good also. They had the rough cut to a level where you could still make a fair shot. Staff always friendly and this is a very nice course with great views. read more

I don't play golf I like the restaurant good prices food and drink much better than the usual new paltz over priced crap .

The problem with this "27" hole course is that there is the 18 holes, then the OTHER 9. I might play more if I could be certain which courses I was going to play. The 27 does help spread out the players for a good pace of play, but it is pricey for what you get. read more
