Everything is always clean, and the staff is consistently friendly, helpful, and accommodating. The variety of open play sessions available throughout the day, makes it easy to find games that fit your schedule and skill level. And it's easy to sign up for sessions on the club app. The other members are friendly, creating a fun and supportive atmosphere. Highly recommend this club to anyone looking for a great place to play and be part of a community!

I am not a member of this brand new club but have now played here 8-9 times only during the open…read moreplay on rainy days which is when as a non- member you pay $20.00 for 2 hours of play with other folks who self rate themselves. The club does not screen these ratings and on several occasions players have signed up to play in games that were clearly above their playing level.(Probably not the club's fault but frustrating nevertheless.) If I knew how many rainy days we were going to have in May and early June, I would have purchased a membership. The 10 courts are in great shape and my only minor complaint is that the lighting is a little difficult on a few of the courts that I believe they will need to address. I have only had one negative experience where they overbooked how many folks were signed up for open play and it was a bit chaotic as to how to wait for courts and who could play on what courts. To the club's credit they did extend the playing time by a half hour to compensate the players for the waiting between games. They need to have a better system for court usage during open play whether that is a single paddle system ( per level) or a designated person to handle the crowd. I have played locally indoors at Taconic, Dutchess ,the Kinston Y, Golds Gym as well as the New Paltz elementary school and this facility is by far the best indoor facility in the area. I have found the check-in process well run and unlike other facilities you can arrive a little before the start time to warm up etc and they do not throw you off the court at the end of the session if you are mid-game. If I were a member, setting up games among members looks like the way to go to play only with folks you know and want to play with. I have met many wonderful players during open play and know many local folks who play here mostly on bad weather days. It is a very strong membership as to the quality of play and the genuine nice folks who play here. Some of the owners ( or their spouses) are regular pickleball players and take great pride in this facility. Finally, this facility offers much more than just pickleball. There is a bar/restaurant, golf simulators, corn hole etc. and this review is solely on the pickleball.

Much to my disappointment the pro shop told me there are no motorized carts available until April 1st which is in two days. I am too old to carry a golf bag for four hours. I was told by the pro shop that the reservations number is a third party booking site and they are telling people carts are available. So if the pro shop knows that wrong information is being given out by the booking site why haven't they corrected it. No manual push carts are available either.

Sometimes you discover a place because you are looking for something completely different…read more That was my experience at Stone Dock Golf Course in High Falls, New York. I did not play golf or eat at the café during my visit. Instead, I came to explore the property with my camera and binoculars and see what birds I could find. I ended up identifying 29 bird species, which thoroughly impressed me for a first visit. The course itself is beautiful, peaceful and remarkably well maintained. It has a relaxed, intimate feel that I imagine many golfers will appreciate. There is no sense of being rushed or overwhelmed by crowds, and the pricing is very reasonable compared with many of the larger golf destinations in the region. But what really made my visit special were the people. Jennifer and Francis are two of the kindest and most gracious hosts you could ever hope to meet. What started as a visit to explore the property even turned into dinner with Jen and her adorable dog, Bebop. That unexpected evening of good conversation and great company was one of those travel experiences you remember. I also discovered that overnight camping is available on the property, making Stone Dock an interesting option for travelers who want to explore the Hudson Valley at a slower pace. Contact the course directly for current camping information. If you are looking for a more intimate, relaxed and grounded experience, I highly recommend giving Stone Dock a visit. Whether you are a golfer, traveler, photographer or birder, there is something here worth discovering. Forget the big name golf destinations for a while. Sometimes the best places are the ones where you are welcomed like a friend.
