Great course. Make sure you have a map, it can be a little convoluted in its progression.

However, on some of the Holes directions to the next hole were poorly marked, so we wasted time figuring out which direction to drive our cart to.

The ceremony was outside and we had a nice cocktail hour afterwards. The food was phenomenal, with passed hors d'oeuvres, mashed potato bar, and a carving station. The bartenders were very nice and accommodating. Some misses during cocktail hour included ice cold broccoli at the mashed potato bar, like they just took it out of the fridge. Some of the passed hors d'oeuvres did not have toothpicks to pick up the items. We adjourned upstairs for the reception and it was beautifully decorated. Our salads were waiting at our seats. The dinner was really good and we were happy with the food and the drinks. Unfortunately, the service was not good at all. I heard that this place shut down their golf course but are trying to open sections back up, so they've mostly been operating as an event space, which likely means they don't have permanent staff. In situations like this, the staff they have are usually doing the very bare minimum, which was noticeable. While the service staff was very nice, most didn't know what they were serving, which was a problem as some in our group had dietary restrictions. At the very least, they should be able to tell you if there's meat or seafood in whatever they're serving. The cocktail hour carving station was held up because the person manning it didn't have a knife. I visited the station three times and only found a steak knife (mixed in with butter knives) on my 3rd round. The servers also did not pass any food to the people standing on line for the bar. They were visiting people thta already were sat, eating food. It would have been nice to have a coconut shrimp while I waited for 10 minutes, for a drink. During the main reception, it took a very long time for them to clear plates and when they brought our first course, they served half of our table and then another person came out with plates and skipped our table, went to a different table, and the other half of ours had to wait until yet another person came out to finish serving. They took our silverware and we had to go to the kitchen to ask for replacements because they were never brought back to us, even when we asked the servers. I accidentally spilled a cup of water that took three of our napkins. I asked for replacement napkins and it took my husband going to the kitchen to to ask but they only had two napkins left and did not even think to offer paper napkins. By the time dessert was served, for at our table left for the evening. When they came around to give cake slices, I asked for one of each, and the server said that they didn't have enough - I pointed out that half of our table was gone so they could definitely allow me a second slice. I'm glad I asked bc the chocolate cake they originally gave me was too sweet for me but the extra vanilla slice was perfect. They left us with our cake and never gave us dessert utensils. We had to scavenge for them, from the place setting of those that left the event. The served coffee with no milk. Several other tables, including ours, had to ask for milk, and it took ridiculously long to get anything. As I said, the wedding was beautiful, the reception was fun, but that was mostly because of the the bride, groom, families, DJ and emcee. The venue, decor, food and grounds, were all great, but the service was so very bad. Hopefully once they've opened on a more regular schedule, they'll have more committed, permanent staff, that will represent the venue better.

My mom also looked at this place for my sweet 16 in 2011. We live nearby, so a pro is that it is close for us. We met Amanda, who was very nice and showed us around the place. It has a beautiful open white room, both upstairs and downstairs. the room upstairs has a beautiful 4 wall bar that is located in the corner, and is used for the open bar. Amanda did a good job answering all of our questions. There were lots of options from having a breakfast/brunch, to a buffet style dinner, or a sit down dinner. We would have went with the sit down option, and they had lots of choices regarding food: A steak, a salmon, and chicken. We did ask what kind of chicken and steak there was and she found out for us. We were also able to pick 4 options of appetizers, and would get salad and pasta, as well as the entree and a cake. I thought it was a beautiful venue with big windows and gorgeous views of the golf course. very pretty. i also like that if we decided to go with this venue, they would offer food tastings so that we know how the food is before booking. restrooms were small with 2-3 stalls, but were very clean. Kudos to Amanda for also following up to my mom's email, where they accommodated a pricing request. Unfortunately, we decided to go with another venue with more food options. However would definitely consider here for another party!

I loved that the ceremony space is covered and that you can walk around and there's plenty of room to socialize and sit for cocktail hour. The reception space is great size! The bar is as soon as you walk in. Bar tenders for the night were great! Our only "complaint" is that the steak was way overdone and if you like it medium or rare that probably isn't happening. We didn't ask for it to go back but all aside the food from appetizers at cocktail hour that kept coming were all delicious! There was a fry bar, taco bar, and charcuterie. Dinner started with a pasta then salad and a choice of chicken, steak, or salmon. The salmon was great and so were mashed potatoes! Overall great venue.

The course has been cleaned up a bit and although still difficult, it is not as punitive as it used to be. But course and grounds are in beautiful shape, the snack bar is open, the weather was stellar and it sure beats working! It was easy to find during the afternoon but I can see how some people can get lost here at night since the area is very dark with no street lights. The entrance was very an unassuming so my first impression was just meh. The courtyard where the cocktail and hors d'oeuvres were held was just plain. The food was good though. Very tasty. In early December one of my former coworkers held his wedding here along the Hudson Valley line area. . . . excuse me . . . . but I'm not familiar with anything in New York outside of the city. But MAN is it gorgeous out here. There was a castle on a hilltop in the distance! Small mountains or very big hills surrounding sweeping planes of golf course green. The back area had a fire pit and seating while inside there were epic chandeliers, toasty fireplaces, and long tables set up along the sides with a large dance hall area for the middle in a giant hall. The actual wedding took place in a greenhouse like atrium attached and covered outside. Seriously, gorgeous building and location for any special occasion or wedding. The service was impeccable. Waiters came by for the toasting hour before dinner with little appetizers and canapes. There was some kind of delicious mapley fatty bacon in there somewhere that was awesome. So why four stars and not five? Man, those bartenders, even though they are very generous and sweet as can be, cannot pour a good drink. I switched from wine because I wasn't a fan of it to quickly an old fashioned which tasted incredibly off. I think because it was a more classic style. But then later I experimented with trying a Manhattan cocktail after I saw my friend with it and that was even worse. Finally, resolved to sticking to well liquor and a simple mixer and everything was fine after that. The food was meh. The salad course was actually my favorite part. I'm not sure if they make the food on premises though or if there is a catering deal of sorts. But we had an arugula salad with a lemon vinaigrette and shaved pecorino romano and it was AWESOME. So flavorful and simple and refreshing. For my entree the choices were either diver sea scallops or New York Strip Steak. Easy choice. Steak, duh. It was served with garrison seasonal farm vegetables and parmesan risotto in a red wine jus. The sauce was interesting - good I think but weird. The meat was really tough. It was cooked okay but it was just a super poor cut of meat with a lot of fat grizzle and just hard to chew and enjoy. That was the main focal point of the meal though and I was pretty dismayed. Also heard from other people at the wedding that the scallops were just as bad. Very tiny portion and it had a funky off taste to them. Great location, stunning and in every sense beautiful beyond words. Food and drinks - very meh. Solid Four stars.
