All I can say is a grateful thank you for the service here. We brought in over a dozen iPhones, iPads and other Apple devices. They gut we spoke to called our collection 'a museum'. He wasn't lying. My first iPhone I purchased just weeks before Steve Jobs passed away. I said I never part with it but we all have to move on and do we did. Everyone we spoke to was very helpful and although most of our collection had no value, that was fine, it's the recycling that Apple does that was what we wanted. I bought some ear phones for my iPhone a few weeks ago at a major electronics store here in Lexington. They turned out to be uncomfortable and they created a lot in-ear noise if I moved around at all. I actually drove into their parking lot again to see if I could find a better pair and/or Apple ear pods. Thought better of it and got the heck out of there and went directly to the Apple Store at Fritz Farm/The Summit. (What was I thinking?) Being so close to Christmas, Apple was very crowded, but as soon as I walked in, a sales associate latched onto me (in a good way, because I wanted to get in and out quickly). Probably hoping to sell me an iPhone or iPad, he was just as friendly helping me pick out a twenty dollar item and getting me checked out and on my way. Very beautiful store! Apple Fritz Farm and Apple iphone covers in general. I purchased 2 iphone silicone phone covers at $49 + tax each in Aug. 2023. In less than a year, both covers started to peel and split apart. Took them back to the Apple store at Fritz Farm in Lexington, KY and the customer service rep was not nice at all. She was condescending and verbally lashed out at me in front of other customers, for giving her my nickname instead of my given name. I wish I had her name, I would call her out on this site. After she finished berating me, she did replace both silicone phone covers. Now, here we are less than a year from the 1st replacement and the covers are doing the exact same thing. So disappointing. In the past I had purchased the clear hard plastic cover for my earlier iphone and it turned dirty brown after a couple of months. No replacement was offered. I guess what I am saying, is do not waste your money on Apple iphone covers, they are expensive and are not worth it. Better off just picking up a couple of cheap covers every year or so from some other brand. And if you go to the Apple store at FF, don't let the heavy set 35ish woman with wild unkempt hair and mismatched clothing wait on you. She is not pleasant. Don't bother bringing your macbooks here for battery replacement. Something that should take only a few hours max are shipped out with a five day estimate. They only have people/techs working on machines for about an hour a day, which really just makes the store a sales platform. If your Mac is out of warranty, I suggest getting a little gutsy and replacing the battery yourself. The folks are friendly, but their capacity is negligible. read more

Lexington's local box-shaped Apple store was probably one of the better ones I've been to in terms of addressing my issue and getting me in and out. I had one of those tech problems that comes and goes, and of course was not in evidence the day I brought my device in, but they still helped me out nonetheless, which is what you should expect. When I stopped in, it was possible to walk into the store without a mask and just buy something if you needed to. They did not have the replacement I needed in stock, which would have been an issue if I was in a hurry, which thankfully I was not. read more

Went in today to upgrade my iPhone and had a terrible experience with the associate, Mude. I already knew I wanted the iPhone 14 Pro, but he questioned over and over about why I wanted it. I told him it's because my current phone is 3.5 years old and I want a better camera. He kept trying to sell my on the regular iPhone 14. "Its camera is better than what you already have anyway." "Are you sure that's what you want?" "Like 100% sure?" "Are you going to use it for work? What do you do?" "What do you need to take pictures of anyway?" I had done my prior research and knew the iPhone 14 Pro was what I wanted, and he acted like I knew nothing. Completely dismissed my wants. And THEN, after all that, he didn't even offer to order the phone for me. He told me to come back earlier the next day to see if the shipment had what I wanted. Ryan gave excellent customer service when I sought help. After an update last night, I was unsuccessful in getting my phone off silent. My appointment was at 2:15 I have been here since 2:07pm it is now 2:37 I have watched 3 walk in be assisted prior to me. So my phone was working and the next morning nothing, it would not power up, it wouldn't do anything. Took it to Apple store and they were clueless, told me it's broke, well no shit. now this phone is 1 1/2 yrs old. I did the update and phone crashed. So I had to get a new phone, keep in mind I was still paying for the phone that crashed. When technician made me pay off what I owed on the old broken one , she hit the pay tab twice, so now I kept telling the lady that I was charged twice. Overall this is a nice mall. It's larger than the ones in Louisville (my hometown) and I think it has a bigger variety of stores. It's a typical mall so there isn't anything that really stick out but everything is in one location so you don't have to drive to different malls. Overall, I'm happy with what it is. read more

Five years ago, I won an iPad the day it is was released. I never wanted an iPad, but a free one!? Sure! I'd find a use for it. And I have. The last five years, my iPad has served as a Kindle reader, a game board, and any other ways a tablet can be used when I didn't feel like hauling my laptop around or staring at a tiny screen. Recently, my iPad has been neglected and I'm thinking about donating it to someone. There's just one problem: the apps are crashing more and more. It's very annoying. And I want to fix it. There's only one place to go: the Apple Store. I came here yesterday afternoon expecting to talk to someone quickly about what to do with my iPad. Although I expected a short wait, I did NOT expect to walk into a packed store and be told I needed to make an appointment to speak with someone. An appointment with a 45-minute wait. And I couldn't leave the store while waiting. Oh, but there were several employees clustered together, chatting... as well as at least two employees working together together to help a single customer. What the...? Didn't make sense to me. Every time that I walk in, immediately I'm asked if I can be helped and what exactly I'm interested in that day. They seem to have an overkill amount of brainiacs, or whatever you call them. Geeze these people are amazing! Is there anything that any of them don't know?! I doubt it. For example, the last time that I was there, I was interested in the iwatch, Apple watch or whatever it's called. Two people helped me. The first brainiac explained that there will soon be an updated version that will monitor your glucose levels. How cool is that?! No more pricking of the finger. This seems too good to be true. But the brainiac said it, so I believe it. The other guy explained the styles and facing and band options. Those things are ugly! I tried in the mesh band style. I liked the magnet clip and all of the technical features, but it's still too ugly for me to look at on my arm on a daily. I don't want to even stop to think about how much money we've spent here in the few years since they've been in the mall. iPads, Apple tvs, desktops, laptops... it's all there. I don't like the return or the warranty system. For example... after about a month of having my phone, I noticed it was bowed... It wasn't flat. I hadn't dropped it and I have no idea how it got that way. But just like the time before, I was asked "what did you do to it?!" and then told that it wasn't covered under warranty. Ugh! I took my iPhone 6s+ to this apple store on Tuesday October 9th around 415 pm. It was crowded but there were at least 20 apple employees working. I was immediately helped and sat down. I had to back up my phone before they could look at it and that took almost 30 minutes. Tip - back up your phone before you go in. I took my phone in because my camera was shaking and wouldn't stop. The Apple Store was going to charge me $88 dollars replace my camera n my battery. I returned to pick up my phone around 6pm and was told they didn't have a camera replacement so they gave me a FREE iPhone 6s+! Wow! I wasn't expecting that. They could have just told me to come back but they didn't. They only charged me for a glass cover. Fantastic customer service!! When I do get a new phone, it will be an iPhone. I really detest Apple. I want to break up with them but can't. I equate them to an abusive partner that you want to leave but the benefits are just too good to let go of! If you ever need anything be prepared to wait 2 hrs. While there you will see "employees " standing around doing nothing. While I've been an Apple fan for the last 10 years or so, I had to take my Apple iMac to the shop for repairs. I dropped off the computer for a hard drive and fan replacement and within 2 days, I was contacted by the Apple store and told to come pick it up. I've found that the Apple Store in Fayette Mall in Lexington KY has great service and the workers there DON'T scream at you when you arrive and are very quick to help out. They speak at you in a normal manner, which is a difference between the one in Knoxville TN. Service was quick and too the point. I was very pleased by this. Congrats Apple Store in Fayette Mall. Love apple products but employees on the sales floor are so busy showing off their knowledge that they forget (it seems) about customer service. Went into my local apple store with a hefty shopping list. Have spoken to other employees at other locations and have been told repeatedly that ALL employees are well trained on apple products as well as promotions and the credit card associated with apple. Not so. A waist of a two hour drive and added frustration due to the fact that a sales person would rather show off (I told him reputation he talking over my head- I didn't understand what he meant along with his fellow sales person whom he asked) and give me incorrect I formation than ask a manager or offer to make a simple phone call to answer any question. Holy crap! All I did was come in to ask about replacement of a power cord for my MacBook Air, and got a surly-as-hell, don't-talk-to-me attitude from the short chick with the reddish-brown hair. I can't believe I didn't catch her name... Anyway, the store appeared to be a display of Millennials (of which I am one) trying to run around in blue shirts and avoid eye contact with one another and with customers. I came in a decent mood, and left a few minutes later quite irritated. No Southern hospitality in this store. I have honestly experienced better service at Apple Stores where I live in California. And, I bought the power cord I needed online through a third party, and for about 1/3 the price that the Apple Store wanted me to pay. If I were you, wait until you have a day when you have a reason to visit Louisville or Cincinnati, then visit the Apple Store in either of those cities. I don't know whether they're significantly better than this Lexington store, but I can't imagine they'd be much worse. read more

They do accept walk-ins, but it is possible that the waiting period for someone can range from 5 minutes to an hour depending on store traffic. The Apple Store is easy to find with the light up logo, big glass windows, and mall maps that point you in the right direction. If it is a busy day, please head to the middle of the store where an Apple Representative will be able to check you in for the next available person to help you with your inquiries. If you do need help at the Genius Bar, please check your items Apple Care coverage. Apple Care could mean the difference between paying money to fix an expensive item or easily getting it replaced for free because Apple Care covered your cost. The Genius Bar people will be able to diagnose your problem for free, but if there is any replacement involved with your item and you do not have Apple Care or Apple Care is invalid due to water damage, or third party repairs and installations, then you will need to pay for the repair upfront. Some repairs can be done in the store the same day, others like mac book repairs requiring sending the device into their technicians. If that happens, you could be without a device for a while. It is important to note that Apple does not give out loaner computers, iPads, watches, or phones. Before bringing your device in for repair BACK UP YOUR DEVICE or you could lose your data. Ordering online and having items delivered to the store is super easy. If you do have a mobile order pickup; be sure to bring a government issue ID such as driver's license to verify the order is going to the right person. If you are interested in Apple classes, all you need to do is RSVP on Apple's website for the class and then attend the class. Apples' stores are kept immaculately clean. The store is handicap accessible. It is important to note that they do not have any bathrooms in the actual store, but the mall has bathrooms by the entrances. The store is spacious, and the wifi speed fluctuates but is reliable. The wifi speed depends on tasks and the number of people on the same network. For example downloading the Watch OS3 took some time because of a huge amount of information downloading to your phone. Downloading an app took no time at all. If you need to wait and want to surf the internet on your device; there is plenty of seating space available in the store. The staff is knowledgeable, caring, and welcoming. If a product is not on the shelf, do not leave the store without asking if they have it in the back room. Sometimes the employees are busy helping customers that they do not have time to restock their shelves at that moment. Apple's prices are high, but there is no question that the product is durable, reliable, and will get the job done. My advice is to make a list of what you need out of your device, and what you want out of your device. Knowing what you need will make it easier for the Apple Store employees to help you get the right device. If you do not like an item, you can return the product with the receipt to the store without being asked any questions within fourteen calendar days per store policy. Make sure to download the Apple Store App. If you have Apple Pay on your device, the app, and are on the store's free fast wifi, you could use the self-checkout feature in the app on most of the items in the store. That is how I bought my Apple TV and watchbands. The receipt then gets emailed to you. When no one is around to help you this is an option. I HATE this store, but in this review I'll share why I give it 5 stars, and avoid it whenever possible. Also, a pro-tip to free accessories, and my plan to receive faster service. Saturday, I went to have my iPhone 6 plus screen replaced, after it was run over by a truck. I came early (10:50 am), waited about 15-20 minutes for a Genius and another 50 minutes for the screen repair. The repair cost me $129 before tax. Consider the alternative. When my screen broke, I went to Yelp to find repair places. I called several and their rates were close to my insurance deductible for a new replacement. I quick google search lead me to Apple's rates ($109-$129), which were $40-70 cheaper than local shops. During this visit to Apple I learned that taking my iPhone to an outside tech would violate my warranty. So, if my headphone jack started to crap out, Apple would be off the hook- very convenient. Also, that the screens local shops use are after market, not original Apple parts, and they only replace the screen, not the sensors below the screen, when needed. To top it off, only Apple has this calibration machine, that syncs the touch feature, when they replace a screen. They did all of that for a reasonable price, within an hour. That's why I gave them 5 stars. BUT! If you don't come early/make an appointment the wait times are ridiculously long. This store is understaffed. I've waited over 2 hours for service, and left without making a purchase because there was a 15 minute wait to buy a pair of earbuds. WTF? I hate you for that, Apple. Pro tip: Your iProducts have a 1 year warranty. If your accessories crap-out before a year's time bring them back for a free replacement. But, go early or be prepared to wait. Random thought/Pro tip#2: I think everyone should put their heads down on the tables (as if they are taking a nap) in protest of the long waits. Can you imagine, checking in, and they tell you to take a seat and someone will help you "shortly," but everyone is taking a nap? Oh, I wonder how quickly Apple would increase staff once the images made it to Twitter! Mwhahaha! I tried this in May, after a collective 5 hour wait (2 visits, long story) and instead of a 5 day repair time for my MacBook, I was offered same-day service. What? My wife's Iphone 4 developed touch screen issues on a Friday night. Sat. we decided it was the only day we had to got to the Apple Store for the next week, so I logged in and found no appointments remained. I went anyhow and got on standby. The store was PACKED so I thought I was going to be there a long time. But within 10 minutes, I was at the counter and within 10 more minutes had a new iPhone 4. No hassles, little waiting. I went to the Apple Store last night. It was my worst experience there ever. First of all, I love Apple products and I remain a loyal Apple fan. That hasn't changed. Also, the problems I experienced last night (and last week) are not people problems at all; they were a system problem due to the current policy of requiring that everyone with a technical problem is to make an appointment, often days out. I was there for nearly three hours; well over two and a half were spent just waiting. Even then, I asked to speak with a manager. I spoke with one, but still had to wait. And wait. When my iPhone isn't working properly, my entire means of conducting personal or professional business is stalled or comes to a halt. I'm at their mercy. I shouldn't have to make an appointment, and this amount of waiting was awful. I'm pretty patient when it comes to being waited on, and every employee was very nice. However, I was repeatedly told that "Well, you did walk in without an appointment, right?". Also of note is that all the new products on display don't have any specs or prices like they used to. Presumably this is to force people browsing or seriously considering a purchase to speak with a staff member to engage in marketing. Personally, I like to browse at my leisure and then sign in to see someone if I'm ready to buy. I guess if I stay with Apple--and I will--this is the customer service I'm stuck with. I don't like it at all. They could do so much better. Beware, those who enter here. Your wait will not be brief. Oh, by the way. I had an appointment at 4:15 today. Got in 30 min early. I got seated and had a Genius tech within 15 minutes. I had talked to AppleCare last night and the guy was able to pull up the notes which helped. I described my problem and tried to reproduce it but it wouldn't happen. Luckily I had taken pictures of it before and the symptoms I described sounded like the logic board. Esteban, the Genius guy, had me sign a work order and promptly had me sign so I could get my Macbook repaired. I should have it back by Tuesday. Price without AppleCare would have been 310. It's killing me to not have my baby but I'll have to deal with it. Everyone that I came in contact with were very nice and courteous. I would recommend this Apple location to anyone wanting to get their Apple product checked out. read more

The staff at this store have always been top notch! Yes, sometimes I have to wait, but I have to wait to have my car repaired, to have my hair cut, to see a doctor, in line to buy my groceries, etc. I bought my Mac book pro 6 years ago and it still works!!!!! Now that is amazing. When I bought the other type of computer it would be trash after two years and I would have had to have spent $200 or $300 to keep it working for that two years. Yes, it is best if you make an appointment to have repairs done to your product. When I have had to have something done that day they have put me on a list. I can then go shop or eat near by and when it is 15 minutes before I will be seen they have texted me to return. They offer FREE classes for anything that you might want to use your Apple product. I plan to sign up for more. I just took a class on taking pictures with my iPhone. There was much more to learn than what I assumed. The instructor was great. My next class will be for the garage band. I can't wait to learn. Again when I used the other type of computer each time they up dated their software, I would get so frustrated with not knowing why it wasn't working when I was doing everything right.
