So... yesterday at about 3.30pm I killed my Mac. I dropped it on its side while it was charging on the concrete, amid an oily coconut tanning frenzy. Dam you random 28 degree day... seriously! 0.34 seconds later I was on the phone to the Apple Mac Doncaster store sobbing, hoping I wouldn't be judged be tech nerds for taking its life prematurely, or even worse labelled a murder. The conversation went a little like follows: Frantic Voice: "My Mac isn't working and I need help" Nerd Voice: "O.K Let's go to the start menu and find the...." Frantic Voice: "No, It won't turn on.... I dropped it..." Nerd Voice: "You did what..?" Frantic Voice: " I dropped it." Nerd Voice: "Well, that's probably why it isn't turning on then isn't it?" (Judgmental eyes burn through phone) Awesome, me and the tech nerd are on the same page... Following on from our conversation he offered me an appointment at the Apple Mac Doncaster store as he "clearly couldn't help me from the Brisbane call centre" in the hope of finding a resolution. My one reservation prior to visiting the store was fighting the billion other tech nerds grazing in tech nerd heaven that I would have to compete with. Thankfully they knew I was coming, greeted me at the door and somehow scanned me and my MAC in ready and waiting to see the specialist. After a long winded assessment and a bit of 'out the back' emergency surgery, the prognosis wasn't all bad. Apparently the plastic casing surrounding the charge area was all that was affected, but that meant the whole bottom case needed to be replaced in order for it to charge again. I was slapped with a quote of $700 (worst case scenario) and was told it wasn't able to be fixed today and that I would need to leave it for a 5-7 day turn around... Although my "Mac Genius" was super friendly and did empathize with my situation I still felt as though he could have tried a little harder. If there was a workshop out the back, then why couldn't he grab a hammer and start banging. Its only a little bit dented, wishful thinking I guess. Devastated... Time for a new MAC I think.. read more

It is not often that I feel compelled to write a review about a store, but customer service here is amazing! Had an iMac which needed a screen repair, it would have cost over $600 as the product was a few years old and out of warranty. The service staff noted that it was recently out of warranty and fixed it for free! I took it in at 11.30am in the morning and they called me back at 3.30pm to tell me it was ready to pick up. This is a great example of how to turn inconvenience into a customer delight. Life long customer! read more

Well.. What can I say? I'm a fan of Apple - love my Iphone, never workout without my Ipod and soon will take my Mac Air with me everywhere! We went to the Apple store at Westfield Doncaster hunting for a laptop. There's hasn't been a day when I've been to this store that it hasn't been busy and, by busy, I mean packed to the rafters! - literally people everywhere. The good thing though is that they always have plenty of hands on deck to attend to your queries and assist. You'll find staff with Ipads (they look pretty cool I have to admit!) in their hands at the entrance and so what happens is that, if you need some help with say a Mac, they'll ask your name, where you're gonna be hanging around and then send someone to you. They're pretty quick and generally very knowledgeable as well. The guy assigned to us really knew his stuff. The thing I like about this store is that it's big as you'd expect from any apple store, it looks really neat and cool and the staff (even though their gig is to get you to buy stuff) are somehow objective if that makes sense especially when it comes to laptops and macs in that they'll ask you what you'll be using it for and then recommend the best option to you. So it helps you not spend where you shouldn't and save some coin. If you're after something or just feel like browsing and you're around - pop in and have a look! read more

Apple stores are normally hectic. No matter what time of the day you go to or which day of the week. But that does not mean that you get slower response time or unresolved issues in this store. I have had a few appointments in the past two months and every time the issue was solved with my satisfaction without any problems. One time which they happily replaced my iphone for a brand new one since it had some technical issues. The other times a few bugs here and there. All this issues haven't just happened to one device. I have a ton of Apple devices along with everyone else in my immediate family. So if you own any Apple product and have any issues or difficulties getting them to work properly. I advise that you take them to this Apple store as it is most likely that they will solve your issues. Even if you think that they will probably not fix it. They won't take you hostage for taking your device to them either. JUST FOR A PRECATION: I'M NOT AN APPLE EMPLOYEE, I'M JUST A HAPPY CUSTOMER. read more

Friendly Staff. It is Busy but What Apple Store Isn't.

Despite the popularity of Apple, there is still a wait to get assistance when going to this store on a weekend. However, when you manage to catch a staff member, they are always helpful. I think a pre-requisite to working here is to be under 30 years of age and a university student; one who either looks like a cast member of 'revenge of the nerds' or has dye-coloured hair/or a piercing. I had the unfortunate experience of purchasing an Apple TV that was a dud, however staff in store seemed really chilled about me exchanging it....no questions asked. I recommend approaching staff in store before going online or using the phone Apple support for assistance any day. read more

Have been going here since opening of this store. Support and advice has been excellent. My recent repair service for a MacBook Air was exceptional. Well done to Jess and the rest of the Apple Doncaster team. This is a very busy store yet staff are friendly and cope even when dealing with irrational or irate customers. Super friendly staff, no messing around and a great range of products.

Shocking/chaotic service at Genius Bar. Booked for a genius bar service previous week. Checked in, told to sit at a desk. Other people came afterwards and were serviced by staff and I was left sitting. No sense of servicing who was there first. Just a random bin pick! So frustrated with lack of discipline just decided to leave. Extremely disappointing from a company one expects excellence in (service) design. read more

The managers here are horrendous! I've never had such an unhelpful, rude, ridiculously dumb experience at an Apple Store. The technicians are lovely but they need to reevaluate their managerial staff. Seriously disappointed.... read more

i normally have good customer experience at the store. over the phone service is crap. asked about parts availability for my laptop service appt in 2 days. staff wasn't able to give any solutions or answer as "it's too far in the future". told the staff that i can't leave my laptop there for few days to be fixed, can they suggest if i bring it in when parts is available? nope, dead end. no advise, no attempt to help me out. i will try apple authorised agents, they might be more helpful than apple store. read more

I cannot praise them highly enough. The screen on my Retina MacBook Pro failed on Saturday night so i made an appointment first thing Sunday morning. Went over for my 12.30PM appointment and left the store at 1:20 PM with a new screen fitted, even though it was six months out of warranty. Super fast, super friendly, super efficient, and all this given the fact that the store was absolutely packed. This is one of the many reasons I always purchase Apple products. Please keep in mind the secret to getting super fast service at the Genius bar is to make an appointment first. read more

I visited Apple Doncaster to buy an iPad Pro, I went immediately to the counter with iPads where I stood for 15 minutes trying to attract the attention of a staff member. They refused to catch my eye and even as I stood next to a group of 4 staff chatting (as I was trying to get their attention) I was ignored, a team member then directed the others to various waiting customers pointing them out while waving her arm over and around me. I finally got the attention of a staff member at the door who asked what I wanted and then directed all her questions to my 10 yr old daughter despite me telling her that the iPad was for me. This was extremely annoying as I knew exactly what I wanted and I was quite prepared to add items to my purchase such as keyboard, cover, pencil etc. At this point I gave up, left and drove to the Chadstone store. By this time I needed to be quick As I had an appointment. I was served immediately and was able to leave within 5 minutes with an iPad pro and keyboard having spent $1850, I hope the sales team work on commision. read more

When my daughter dropped her iPad on the floor accidentally, I could only think of how sorry my bank account going to look to get it fixed . Braved myself to make a Genius Bar reservation and headed towards the store taking the culprit with me. We were taken in and only a small wait , a young girl approached us to find a solution to the IPad which is working ok but with more red colour in the background than usual. She looked at it and said it might be something wrong with the circuit, which is the usual with a drop. She took it in and appeared probably in less than 10 minutes with the problem fixed. She did warn us that it can be a temporary fix and the poor iPad will definitely not last another drop so that we need to look after it carefully.The best part was that the experience did not affect my bank balance and we left the store one happy little girl to have her IPad back and a mother who will remain a loyal Apple customer! read more
