Every time I visit my daughter in Utah we take a trip to Apple Creek Bulk Food. I grew up in an Amish area in Pennsylvania, but now live in California. It is a real treat to be able to find foods from my youth. read more

My son and I were making a day trip out to Logan, and I saw a billboard for Apple Creek! I made a quick google search and took a detour to check this store out! I didn't know what to expect as I've never been to an Amish market, but I was very pleased! The food is fresh, and healthier than regular grocers. I found a ton of great food that survived the trip back home to Kaysville in the heat! The only interaction we had with staff was the cashier, I didn't catch her name. She was young, but super sweet! We went in the middle of the day, and it wasn't busy at all! The atmosphere was relaxed, I didn't feel rushed, and I had time to look at everything! No, you won't find any Amish folk here (not that I have seen, anyway), but you'll find other friendly faces in a back-in-time environment where life moves at a slower pace and quality food is appreciated. We always go for canned fruit and treats as well as the bulk sized candies. They have jams and other unique food items as well as ice cream and sandwiches. If you're in the market for some handmade furniture, there are some cool options. The rocking chairs look like they were crafted painstakingly by hand and may last generations. I enjoy looking around at the unique foods, and purchasing quality Gruyere cheese and roll butter. However, my favorite part of this store is the sandwich shop in the back. Every time I eat lunch at this shop, I get the Italian combo with mozzarella or Provolone, Canadian bacon, salami, marinara, sweet & spicy mustard, chow chow and pickles, grilled on white. It is one messy sandwich, but so worth it! I've introduced others to it - most didn't even know you could eat there - and always offer it as an option when family is in town. Great sandwich variety, pleasant service and about $9 a combo for sandwich, chips, drink and a piece of fruit. You really need to try it. :) read more

I love this place for what it is.... and what it isn't. What it is: A quaint little spot to find some very niche products and things not necessarily available in your local grocery store. 50+ feet of jams and jellies for instance. If God grew it, these folks figured out how to make a jam or jelly out of it. According to the lady at the counter all of the jams and jellies are bottled by hand by the good Amish folks back in Ohio and Pennsylvania. They also have good selections of pickled products and raw ingredients to cook with. There is a cooler with some meats and cheeses which will be purchased on another trip when I remember to bring a cooler. Speaking of coolers, there is one chock full of eclectic sodas and something called "Birch Beer." By the pallet load quantities they have, it must be a good seller. What it isn't: A full grocery store, Wal Mart, 7-11, or anything like that. What they carry is what they carry and I don't think you can cross of much of the grocery list in this store. Apple Creek is a good little destination store. I'm pretty excited to try all of the different jam and jelly products I bought. read more

They have a large variety of jams, jellies, pickles, pickled products, candy, spices, sauces, cheese, deli meat, etc. Most of the bottled products are made and packaged by the Amish. I enjoy experiencing new flavors and there are plenty to be found here. Today I picked up some jalapeno peach jam, pumpkin pecan butter, and some unique mustards. Service is very friendly. Prices are a bit higher here but you are not going to find many of these products elsewhere. They typically have some samples available including meats, cheeses, salsas, etc. Today I was able to try some smoked cheddar cheese, jalapeno cheese, black forest ham and rhubarb jelly. read more

What a great store! Tons of bottled goods from elderberry jam, to pickled brussels sprouts and beyond! A deli in the back with excellent sandwiches, and a crazy variety of cheeses! Ice cream too! Seasonings, herbs, snacks, lotions, soaps, and on and on. I'd say, except for fresh produce, this place would give Trader Joe's a run for its money, and personally I think I like it better. Food The food here is just phenomenal. The condiments, spreads, cheeses, meat, and bread they use for their sandwiches are fresh and extremely flavorful. When you get a sandwich grilled, they grille your bread first so the rest of your sandwich is not soggy. The rest of the store is just as good. There are so many options to try new things. The store is filled with jams, candies, and a large variety of jarred canned food. Price All products are shipped from back east from Amish communities. The items are shipped in bulk and placed in individual containers at the store. Shipping in bulk helps lower the final cost consumers pay. However, due to the majority of the items sold in-store being specialty items, prices are a little above average. Service Your food is made to order, so you have to be patient as the preparation of your food takes time. I will tell you though, it is worth the wait. My wife and I came over from Idaho to meet our son and daughter in law for a lunch. We were going to go to Maddox but found it to be crazy busy, when we had a wonderful serendipitous experience coming to your store which we didn't know existed. WOW! What a wonderful place you have. The young people who waited on us could not have been more kind, helpful, and thoughtful. Our sandwiches were to-die-for good, with plenty of fresh deli meat, cheeses and condiments. The store is a delight to wander around in and we bought several things that have all been wonderful! Of note DO NOT miss the ice cream it is the real deal. My husband's strawberry ice cream had whole berries in it and my pistachio was divine. We will be life long fans and intend to visit often. Love love love this store. Always stop on our way North (vacation). We love the meat and cheeses. Today we got green onion smoked cheese and garlic cheddar. My man loves the lebanon bologna. I stumbled across Apple Creek and am so glad I did! This store offers bulk spices, baking mixes, candies, beans/legumes, pastas (including a wide array of gluten free offerings), flours, canned fruits, preserves, and pickled veggies, and deli meats and cheeses--and more! There is also a deli that serves fresh sandwiches. They are really delicious! I ordered a small sandwich and it was HUGE. You would have to be VERY hungry to eat a large. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the store was well-lit, clean, and organized. The pricing was definitely lower than retail for most items (the canned/pickled items were a little higher, but the quality is amazing and it is WORTH the price). I'll definitely be going back for a sandwich and to stock up on some of the items I regularly use. read more

I love this place! I really do! We make a special trip here to get pickled everything! Asparagus, beans, mushrooms, okra and more! I love the candy and spices. There is a lot of good groceries here to buy that are Amish, so you can assume they are GMO free, hormone free, antibiotic free, preserve free, still check to make sure. I bought stuff to use for my daughter, I am trying to keep her diet as free of those things as I can for as long as I can. But there is a lot of stuff I can get at any local health food store. I was hoping for a real neighborhood Amish store where I could find canned and jarred ready made meals for my disaster food supplies. Had been to Apple Creek a few times and enjoyed the canned items. Stopped yesterday to invest in some gluten free dried foods for my daughter. Some of the things were completely rancid! Took them back less than 24 hours later, receipt in hand, and they refused to refund my money!~ Beware when shopping here!
