Went to see a movie on 6/29/24 @ 2pm. My husband greets the young man behind the counter as we check out with popcorn, candy, and water. Young man says nothing to my husband in response. We pay for a large popcorn but young man has no large popcorn buckets but only bags. Young man cannot open bag and sticks his entire hand into the popcorn bag to open it, which is unhygienic. Husband asks for a regular size popcorn bucket which is a dollar cheaper. Manager is involved now. Young lady with green/purple hair. Messes up the entire refund and it makes no sense. I ask for another manager. There is not one, only her. Bathrooms had no soap in the dispensers. No paper towels. During our movie, the theater next to ours had such loud music, the sound and bass traveled into our movie, making it hard to hear and enjoy. Theater had popcorn under the seats when we first walked in, as if the theater was never cleaned. Manager and workers at the stand, I notice, just talk with each other and don't do anything to help with the theater. I only saw one man cleaning. Twice now I've just walked right into that movie theater without one person checking tickets. This place sucks!

We were in a showing room that was renovated. It was very nice, lots of room and a tray. I like the smaller rooms.

Went to see the lion king rerelease. The theater was fine. The bathrooms were really dirty. The recliners were ok.

One of Portland's treasures, the Nick has been operating in the Old Port for over 40 years, and screens mainstream indie films as well as current blockbusters. Surrounded by the best restaurants and cafés Portland has to offer, it's super easy to park and combine a dinner and a movie. The garage next door is a sure thing if you're not into street parking, just know it's closed on Sundays. I probably see a dozen or so films a year at The Nick--I like to see all of the Academy Award nominated films, and this is the place to catch all of the best picture nominees. In the past few weeks I've seen I'm Still Here, Nickel Boys, and The Brutalist at the Nick. A great experience every time--I've walked right up to buy tickets with only one party or two parties in line, at most. The selection concessions offered is reasonable, and includes vegan options. Seats are comfortable, however, they aren't the giant recliners offered at the big corporate cineplexes. Also, you can buy tickets in advance, but you are not able to reserve a particular seat. This is a old school sort of cinema, and yes, the bathrooms are upstairs. They are clean, and you can say hello to Audrey Hepburn on the large Breakfast at Tiffany's poster on your way down the stairs. People really seem to enjoy $6 ticket Tuesdays. Otherwise, tickets are $10 for a matinee and $13 for an evening ticket, less for children and seniors. The Nickelodeon is one of my favorite places in Portland, one of the few institutions that's managed to stand the test of time, and I hope it is able to stay around for another 40 plus years.

I think this Flagship Cinema recently (maybe in the past year or so?) updated all their seats. They…read moreseem much cleaner, there's no tears or cracking in the thick material, all the buttons to recline actually work. I noticed it a while back; this place was definitely loved hard over the past decade plus, so it's nice to see these upgrades! This is still my go-to theater: 1) I like the ease of choosing my seat and ordering my ticket online ahead of time. We've never had an issue or glitch with this. We just show up, use the little machine to scan our barcode, and it's as easy as that. 2) I like the annual Premium Popcorn Pail deal (even if the bucket is 20% smaller than it used to be). We always trade ours in at the end of the year/beginning of the new year for some kind of genuinely decent promotional deal. On average, throughout the year of using it it seems it costs us anywhere between $11 and $17 to get it filled and get one large soda (that we could get unlimited refills on if we could be bothered to leave the theater). 3) The "luxury power recliners" themselves are, for me at least, bigger and more comfortable than some of the couches I've owned. I crawl into my seat, hit the button, up go my feet, back goes my upper half, and I'm immersed in a cloud of comfort (without annoying anyone the way this same action does on a plane). And they're SPACIOUS: I can have my jacket in my seat next to me, my purse, my food... and there's still room. 4) I like that they show old movies!!! TAKE MY MONEY, I want to see Jaws here every summer. 5) FREE movie on your birthday (all you need is your ID to prove it's your big day)! Admittedly, during really busy times, it could use some additional TLC: 1) The soda area can get quite wet and sticky. 2) The bathroom trash bins are often overflowing (and actually, I think that's on you, future customer. Can you please just kind of push your towel down into the bin instead of laying it on top of it?). 3) Why are the bathroom stalls SMALLER than airplane bathrooms? I'm a small person, and I still have to contort my body to close the door. Still, it's comfortable and (mostly) clean and the staff working here can be really charming and goofy and I love that because THAT'S what a movie theater staff should be.

This is our usual cinema for a reason! All of the theaters have huge, comfy reclining seats. We…read moreusually bring a blanket and wear sweatpants for an at home theater kind of experience! Very comfortable! If you buy a large plastic popcorn bucket for $17, you can get $6 refills for the rest of the year. Great thing about Falmouth is once you get your popcorn, you can add your own butter topping - as much or as little as you want. Drinks are self serve once you buy the cup and you get free refills. While the tickets, like most theaters nowadays, aren't cheap, flagship makes it hurt not so much.

I have been a long time patron of this theater. 20+ years. I've seen many owners, tons of changes, the scare that was Covid-- but one thing was always consistent besides the fresh popcorn. The staff. Many of us know who I'm talking about. The projectionist- Gracia- was there for longer then I had been a patron. She ran that place from the ground up. She even crowd funded (which I supported) purchasing the theater in 2019 before it was sold from under her. She was the bones the bread and the butter of that place. It was a labor of love and watching her adapt over the years and be so consistent was such a joy. Along with her awesome t shirts. This year there was yet another change of ownership. And I have come to learn that she was discarded like her 25 years of service meant nothing. And not only that, I was lied to that she left on her own. Which isn't the case. They also let go another staff member that has disabilities but a whole lot of heart. Sam was the light of my weekend. They worked there 12 years. My heart is heavy. This place was much more than a cinema. It was community. And now it just feels cold. I will not be returning.

Would gladly come back to see an IMAX film, but maybe not a special journey for regular films. I have no real complaints. The seats are wonderful and recline. There's a lot of walking room in front of the seats so no awkward 'ass or crotch' etiquette. You don't feel too close to your seat neighbor. Sound is average. Picture quality is good, though there was a smudge on the screen that I kept noticing. The entrance felt a bit disheveled. There wasn't even anyone there to scan my ticket (I bought one online, I promise). You're a sucker and deserve stale popcorn and overpriced snacks if you still buy concessions at a theatre.

I appreciate the simple Atom app for ticketing, plus the veterans discount. The staff was friendly, but I also noticed that it's mostly self-serve for drinks and popcorn. When we got into the theater, the map I used to choose our seats was incorrect. Luckily there were few other patrons and we could move to other seats. The projector wasn't working for the pre-show stuff, which made me nervous enough to go ask the staff about it as the show was about to start. The projector started for the previews and the movie. I wish we hadn't gotten horror movie previews, though, just because it was a Stephen King movie. A couple of the seats were in terrible shape, with covering torn off them and it sounds like at least one of the speakers in the back right is blown, because it was really static-y and crackly. Not our best theater experience, but not our worst either.
