So far, our favorites from the 23-24 season have been "Saint Dad," a play about intricate family dynamics and loss in rural Maine, and "Clyde's," about a sandwich shop employing an entirely formerly incarcerated staff. In both of these shows, the acting was spot-on! We usually pick a showing on a weeknight to access easy parking outside on Forest Ave. Sometimes, we come early to secure parking and get a bite to eat at Empire or Otto's before the show. Not being a dancer myself, I can't say anything about style or other dance critiques. I do want to express how much I like the shows. Set and costumes look fabulous and the dancers look great to me!

"Who's Holiday" - a show about a grown up Cindy Lou Who from the Grinch story. So, we all decided to check it out - making an evening of it with dinner beforehand at Front Room. Our experience was so lovely, we have already been back this year and saw "Popcorn Falls". This is a small community theater. It's not high tech, but it doesn't need to be. The shows are intimate with great actors. In addition, they have a small concession stand that sells beer, wine, cookies and other snacks. Tickets are reasonably priced and shows do sell out. Next time you hear about a new show at Good Theater that trips your trigger, don't just say - I should do that. Actually do it! Go see a show here!

I have seen "Avenue Q", "The Producers", "The Pirates of Penzance", and "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee". Each performance was great. And you can the performers put a ton dedication into each show. Convenient to Portland and a large parking lot are near by. This is great different thing to do around Portland. Check them out online and see what shows they have to offer!

I was surprised to see how small lobby was. It gets crowded by concession stand pretty quickly. Despite the crowds, the staff at concessions was really nice. I took away a star, because the restrooms were horrible. They were dark and it appeared there was stuff smeared on the stall walls that looked like it wasn't 'new" - I gagged the whole time. I noticed it a while back; this place was definitely loved hard over the past decade plus, so it's nice to see these upgrades! This is still my go-to theater: 1) I like the ease of choosing my seat and ordering my ticket online ahead of time. We've never had an issue or glitch with this. We just show up, use the little machine to scan our barcode, and it's as easy as that. 2) I like the annual Premium Popcorn Pail deal (even if the bucket is 20% smaller than it used to be). We always trade ours in at the end of the year/beginning of the new year for some kind of genuinely decent promotional deal. On average, throughout the year of using it it seems it costs us anywhere between $11 and $17 to get it filled and get one large soda (that we could get unlimited refills on if we could be bothered to leave the theater). 3) The "luxury power recliners" themselves are, for me at least, bigger and more comfortable than some of the couches I've owned. I crawl into my seat, hit the button, up go my feet, back goes my upper half, and I'm immersed in a cloud of comfort (without annoying anyone the way this same action does on a plane). And they're SPACIOUS: I can have my jacket in my seat next to me, my purse, my food... and there's still room. 4) I like that they show old movies!!! TAKE MY MONEY, I want to see Jaws here every summer. 5) FREE movie on your birthday (all you need is your ID to prove it's your big day)! Admittedly, during really busy times, it could use some additional TLC: 1) The soda area can get quite wet and sticky. 2) The bathroom trash bins are often overflowing (and actually, I think that's on you, future customer. Can you please just kind of push your towel down into the bin instead of laying it on top of it?). 3) Why are the bathroom stalls SMALLER than airplane bathrooms? I'm a small person, and I still have to contort my body to close the door. Still, it's comfortable and (mostly) clean and the staff working here can be really charming and goofy and I love that because THAT'S what a movie theater staff should be.

They do serious scenes in which actors take turns doing a serious scene and whenever the audience laughs they get tapped out. They do a scene where everyone is a character and one actor that has bee out of the room has to guess them all at a party. They often end with "sex with me is like ...." And the audience gives out the ideas. This is hilarious.

The bathroom situation does not thrill me. There is one bathroom with two private stalls, but the second bathroom has only a urinal which is exposed and a private stall. It's a multisex bathroom so it could be a challenge. Like so many other fantastic places downtown, you need great parking karma. I recommend that you plan ahead and enter the Spring Street garage from the Free Street side. You're only one side street away from the entrance to Space Gallery. In the dead of winter, it can be cold in the center of the seating. Dress appropriately. If the venue warns you the event may be filled, heed their advice and either buy tickets in advance online or make sure you show up early. It is a small-ish space and they will accommodate all that they can, but sometimes they have had to turn away folks that are very disappointed. I am a member of space gallery and feel that this $40 was some of the best spent money in this town. I truly love the programming, the presentation, and the overall atmosphere and attitude of all involved with Space Gallery. Highly recommended

We really enjoyed all the music and it was a treat to hear Julia Gagnon perform with them this year. The conductor always does a wonderful job of interacting with the audience and creating a fun, welcoming atmosphere. The musicians are so talented and we enjoy the music each time we attend. I also feel as though the price for tickets are very reasonable, so I recommend checking out a concert if you're able!

The Bangor symphony a ways back, maybe 2019 did a Star Wars tribute, with actors and 6 French horns, a large bone section and very loud trumpets. That was awesome.
