I've had dark brown hair for a long time. I usually don't go to salons on the regular. My sister bought me a full balayage at this place for my birthday. These are my before and after pictures. I loved my hair cut because she did what a trim should be like. I've had bad experiences before where they chop off way too much of my hair. Britny took her time with my hair. Because I had a boxed dyed on it, she kept trying in finding the perfect toner so it will settle the brassy look. I have my second session in July and I'm excited to see how it'll look. This salon looks tiny when you pass by on the street, but when you're inside it's actually long & spacious! It's right by WB at the corner of Olive & Pass, I found street parking but they also have their own lot I see. Alyssa was very sweet and did a great job with my simple trim and freshening up my layers. The salon has a nice upscale yet inviting feel. I feel like she is able to understand what I am looking to do with my hair and why and advise accordingly. If you're thinking about buying a Groupon for this salon, I encourage you to reconsider due to their terrible customer service and the owner's hostile attitude. When I first purchased the Groupon, there was no stylist attached to it. The salon decided to assign it to a specific stylist (Britny) after I had purchased it. It's a new salon to me and I wasn't set on a specific stylist, so fine. The salon is a bit inflexible with appointment times, so I had to call to reschedule my appointment on two different occasions. I had some unexpected work conflicts come up, so I take partial responsibility for that. When I called to reschedule the first time, the receptionist did not give any indication that this was a problem at all. She didn't mention a cancellation policy and there isn't a policy on their website or social media. They were closed when I called the second time (a full day in advance of my re-scheduled appointment), so I left a message. I received a return call and voicemail from one of the salon owner's (Autumn) approximately 15 minutes before my appointment where I was told that I had violated their cancellation policy and they would not longer honor the Groupon offer but would only honor the price paid to be applied to full price services. I called back right away and asked Autumn if they might make an exception given that I had not been made aware of their cancellation policy when I called and that it was not published anywhere. Autumn quickly escalated and became very rude and incredibly condescending. Not only was she inflexible and decided it appropriate to talk to a potential customer like they were an idiot, but she continuously interrupted as I tried to ask for further clarification. She then told me she's make sure to get the cancellation policy on their website, and proceeded to dismiss me before telling me to take it up with Groupon as she had grown impatient in just a few seconds. I'm not sure what makes her think I would want to spend any time in their salon or have one of their stylists work on my hair after her hostile attitude. Not only is this salon inflexible and unprofessional, but don't buy a Groupon unless you're prepared for them to decide if/when they will honor the offer and treat you as if you are inferior for being a Groupon customer. I can't imagine the salon will be around too long with these kinds of practices. I'll be sure to let everyone at the studio I work at in the neighborhood as well. Don't get me wrong, I understand that stylists have to make a living and that cancellations suck. However, I also know that sometimes shit happens and you have to reschedule, so you should make your cancellation policy clear to customers ahead of time (especially when someone from your salon has spoken to them). Groupon was kind enough to offer a refund because even they agreed that this was unacceptable. However, I wouldn't be surprised if Autumn decides to respond to this review with more hostility. read more

I just want to say I am rating based on the work done on my hair and not the people who work there. The people who work here are kind, friendly and make you feel at ease. I went to go dye my hair about two months ago. About 2 months ago I wanted to bleach my hair and get a grown out balayage. I sent the girl who was going to do my hair pictures of the hairstyle I wanted as well. I specifically mentioned more than once that I did not want the bleach or color to go up to my roots at all, I wanted them to look super grown up at about my ear. she said she understood. Well, long story short the girl ended up doing highlights on my hair and not a balayage at all. AND WORST OF ALL THE HIGHLIGHTS WENT UP ALL THE WAY TO MY ROOTS. THEY LOOKED SO STREAKY AND THICK. When I asked her about it, she said "yeah I decided to go a little up". I was mortified, I love my hair so this really impacted my self-esteem. I hated my hair so bad I wanted to cry everyday because they looked so freaking ugly and no I was not about to call again to get it fixed because I did not want more product on my hair to chemically damage it any further more than it got damaged. I had to dye it back to black because I felt so freaking ugly, it really was unacceptable. I paid $150 for literally nothing that I wanted. AT ALL. which I made clear with pictures and with the power of my voice (lol) multiple times. I won't say who cause I don't want to be THAT much of a snitch today, but tbh just take your money elsewhere. read more

About a year and a half ago, my hair was damaged, dry, and just plain old bland. Until I stepped in and met my hair girl Karina. She literally whipped my hair into shape. I went from black, to purple, to brown, to blonde, to brown, and back to black. Her Baliage skills is insanely good. I love this place! I've been going to Alexa for years and she's an absolute MAGICIAN! My hair is VERY hard to blonde (my base color is a very dark brown with red undertones... not ideal for blonding), but somehow she gets it to the perfect shade every single time.
