My Groupon month is over and I'm sad. I really enjoyed taking classes here. The first two weeks I…read moreattempted the 5 AM park workouts but mornings are not my thing and my allergies hated me and the evening classes were not available at a location near me. They were nice enough to let me finish out my workouts at their indoor facility where for the remainder I tried to go 3-4x a week. The park workouts were challenging but doable at whatever your fitness level. Richene always mixed it up and was encouraging. And I loved Fun Fridays. I had never played Frisbee football before. My fave would have to be the indoor workouts with Corey and Will. Because these were in the evenings it really kept me on track eating healthy during the day so I wouldn't feel like crap at boot camp. And obviously no grass, no allergies. For both the indoor and outdoor classes we never did an identical workout. The indoor facility is perfect for those that are fans of Tough Mudder, Spartan or any type of obstacle races as they have the course and equipment to help you prepare. The camaraderie is awesome and everyone is so encouraging from day one. I'm only knocking a star due to cost. I don't think $150 a month is unreasonable if boot camps are the majority of your workout because there are classes and locations all over town and the instruction alone is worth it. They also have a $25 drop in or if you buy a punch card it breaks down to $20 a class. But for me I'd want to incorporate bootcamp into my schedule once or twice a week because I also love my cycling and kettle bell classes and when I factor in the three gym memberships I have combined those set me back only $57 a month. I had taken boot camp classes before in town and this month of classes made me realize how much I miss them. Fortunately for me those classes are a $10 drop in making it more realistic for my schedule and wallet to incorporate a once or twice a week class into my routine.

As a veteran of bootcamp classes, running, pilates, kickboxing, and Insanity/P90X, I can definitely tell you that this was a GREAT workout. Granted, some may think that there's a limited class/location selection, but to be honest, at least you know where to go and what time to go...none of this "will there or won't there be class". My other gripe is also about the cost. If it wasn't for the Groupon that I got, I definitely couldn't afford this. As it is, I don't pay even that much for my gym membership. I am so glad that there are multiple locations throughout the valley. Next, I can only comment on Kenny Hunt, my instructor (or should I say torturer? lol jk). He's a great instructor and just helps you push yourself until the end of class--allowing you to take the class at whatever pace you can handle. There were literally people in the class that were in all different levels of fitness, and since everyone was working as a team and encouraging one another, it made the experience that much more enjoyable. The general format was: arms and core, cardio day, legs, arms and more core, and another cardio day. On a given day, you'll either be doing resistance exercises using your own weight, or weights, or tires, a jump rope, or partnered exercises. I actually even saw a class harness themselves and pull a Toyota Tundra filled with equipment, with a few others pushing from behind. Talk about crazy! All in all, it was a fun time, and I only wish that the classes were more affordable. At least I was able to find out what Bootcamp Las Vegas was all about.

You start off with a light warm up and then she explained the different stations. You're either doing jump ropes, split squats, burpees etc. Our "break" was to take a run out in the back lot. Now THAT was challenging for me because I do not run nor do I enjoy running lol. The class was 45 minutes and that was perfect. The staff was awesome, I was very confused when I got there and they gave me a tour since it's a much bigger studio than the Henderson location. And there are definitely more doorways to get to the different studios, so I was definitely a little lost at first. Tons of lockers and storage areas. The locker rooms are really nice, super clean, and have amenities for getting ready just like the other locations. It looks like the location is supposed to have a café inside... I don't know if that's something that they're adding in later or was previously there, but there is this little area that looks like it's a eating area (I could be wrong.) there's a lot of places to hang out when waiting for class to start. I took a candlelight Yin with Timberly. And to this day, it's still one of my favorite Yin classes that I've ever taken. It was absolutely amazing, I felt like I was floating when I got out of that class. Super relaxing, she is such an amazing instructor and has one of the best energies I've ever had in an instructor ever. She also did a sound bath at the end of class and it was transcending. I absolutely recommend her candlelight Yin Class! You will leave feeling renewed. I really like that the studio is in a separate area where it has its own hallway that's closed off so you're not hearing any of the outside noise. I also really love that Tru Fusion Summerlin does their fitness on the lawn classes. I do those quite frequently and it is a really amazing experience! And they give you a really awesome variety of different types of classes to try out! The Vibe: Choice…read more Among a hub of fitness studios, 103 Hot Pilates & Yoga was easy to find, with plenty of parking & an easy walk to the front door. Inside, Toni greeted me, checked me in, showed me around the studio, pointed out the infrared heating panels, handed me a locker lock, and made sure I knew where everything was. A few minutes later, Amelia walked over, introduced herself, asked my name, and made sure I felt comfortable practicing in the heat. The Guide: Amelia Bruff * 103 Vinyasa Flow We began seated cross-legged in Gyan Mudra, thumb and index finger gently touching, with four-count box breathing before expanding to a five-count rhythm. This class was a deliberately slow, deeply intentional practice where poses were often held for 40 seconds or longer. The longer we stayed, the more awareness was required. Amelia reminded us that we always have a choice: our attention. our breath. Alignment was a constant throughout class. Amelia moved through the room offering thoughtful adjustments, helping me refine several postures. One moment especially surprised me. In Center Splits, she guided our upper body into Puppy Pose, then invited us through a breath and body-awareness exercise before cueing us to lift our ankles from the floor. I was surprised how much the pose deepened Then came Pigeon, where Amelia delivered one of the juiciest hands-on assists and back massages I've ever received in a yoga class. Soft Kundalini music quietly filled the room. Everything kept pointing back to the same lesson. Slow down. Pay attention. Choose your breath. The Tribe There were yogis of every level. Amelia knew each of them by name. Even as a first-timer, I never felt like an outsider. Space & Place The infrared panels line the room, creating warmth that's comfortable. Outside the yoga room are open shelves for towels, props, and essentials. Complimentary lockers (with locks provided). The surrounding fitness district has an energetic vibe. The Takeaway After class, I had to ask Amelia if she was a dancer. She smiled. "Yes." Of course. The precision. The grace. The body awareness. It all made perfect sense. I left with this: You always have a choice. Where your attention goes. Where your breath goes. Field Note: Your breath is the one choice that never leaves you. FYI: Style: Slow, alignment-focused Heat: Infrared Best For: Yogis who appreciate longer holds, intelligent alignment, hands-on assists, and breath-centered practice. * Bonuses: Free parking lot, welcoming staff, infrared heat, complimentary lockers with locks, & thoughtful assists.
