The quality of instructors has a quality mix to it, but most were very good. Also, if you like an instructor, you can try to schedule more lessons with that specific instructor, which was helpful. It can be difficult to find lessons when and where you want, but if you book far enough ahead of time, you can generally find several reasonable options. General communications: Every time we called the company for help, they were very responsive and always friendly. Overall, I would say our experience was very positive, and I would use them again if I need to and would recommend them.

He also spent the entire time with my daughter and gave her some tips that I am even going to use. Ann knows what she is doing because she has been doing this for 10+ years. She makes this incredibly tedious day the most fun possible by sharing stories and allowing students to chime in. By the end of the course you do a simple test, and your results are reported to the DMV the same day. I wish I had taken this course earlier to earn my safe points back after two speeding tickets!

I recommend this driving academy if you are concerned with reducing demerit points on your license…read more A few months ago, right before I moved, I received notice by the DMV in Virginia of too many demerit points due to some speeding tickets during 12 months timeframe. It was an option to take a driver improvement course and, upon passing, I would receive 5 points to cancel out demerit points. This driving academy has an online course, which I completed, which can be completed in one day (estimated at 8 hours for completion of the online course, although it took me less than 8 hours). The exam at the end must be completed in-person at the Tysons or Herdon location. I went for the exam in-person in the evening at the Tysons (Vienna) location and there was no one else scheduled so I was able to focus and complete the exam efficiently. The staff confirmed that points post within twentyfour hours and I received a printout of my of course passing score. The online course and final exam is $75 to complete and payable at the time of the in-person exam. For those interested, even without a DMV prompt, you can take a driver improvement course every few years and receive the positive points to your license (assuming you pass the exam).

I joined about 2 years ago after Techshop shutdown, and I needed another place to continue my making needs. The hours is a little confusing at first, and they just recently revamped the website. So usually the makerspace is opened in the weekdays after 7pm and closes around 11pm-ish. Weekend I think is officially after 1pm til nighttime. On Friday nights there is alternating crafting and board game nights. And a tip for people who want to check it out, you don't have to wait for an open house specifically. To start, everyone has to take their "green go" class to learn the rules and structure of the place. (Keyword: community, it's all volunteer run). Then take the initial safety class per equipment and afterword you can either enter the lab by day passes, or pay $50/month to use the tools. There's another tier called key members that are community members that has contributed and volunteered, and are trusted with the keys to the place so you can go use the lab whenever. Definitely a really cool place!

I emailed with an inquiry on availability for rental space and provided some ideas for volunteering that I could provide to the community. Not only did she imply that I had written "a lot of info to share via email," but then proceeded to ask me to what I wanted on the phone as if I was in an interrogation. She said, "Oh, I am sorry, I don't think you know who I am. Let me introduce myself....I manage Nova Labs and the Innovation Center... " This is unwarranted display of power and "gatekeeping" for a non-profit community organization. I had only visited the space several years ago when my friend had his office there. I am not aware of the politics or structure that she was implying about whether or not I was approvable in her eyes in becoming a member and volunteer with Nova Labs as well as whether I am qualified to rent an office space that should only be for"people who make things" not those who work at a desk. I make things using my computer and with my hands. Really disappointed and sad that this all just happened.
