I had a very good experience in this school. We had a certified personal teaching the course. He made us aware of what can happen if things go bad on road and rules were not followed. Gave us tips and ideas of how to approach safe driving. Shared material which is useful for future references. He gave us some helpful tips on getting help on some cases, which is very helpful. read more

I recommend this driving academy if you are concerned with reducing demerit points on your license. A few months ago, right before I moved, I received notice by the DMV in Virginia of too many demerit points due to some speeding tickets during 12 months timeframe. It was an option to take a driver improvement course and, upon passing, I would receive 5 points to cancel out demerit points. This driving academy has an online course, which I completed, which can be completed in one day (estimated at 8 hours for completion of the online course, although it took me less than 8 hours). The exam at the end must be completed in-person at the Tysons or Herdon location. I went for the exam in-person in the evening at the Tysons (Vienna) location and there was no one else scheduled so I was able to focus and complete the exam efficiently. The staff confirmed that points post within twentyfour hours and I received a printout of my of course passing score. The online course and final exam is $75 to complete and payable at the time of the in-person exam. For those interested, even without a DMV prompt, you can take a driver improvement course every few years and receive the positive points to your license (assuming you pass the exam). read more

Kashir and Afshan at AA Driving Academy were so helpful in my process of getting a license! I have run into so many obstacles in the process and was stuck in a pickle with the DMV and Afshan the manager was able to get me connected with Kashir, my instructor, within a couple hours of me calling. Kashir was so patient with me and gave me great tips to improve my driving. He also went out of his way to accommodate me in his busy schedule and make sure I felt confident going into my test. Without Afshan and Kashir I would not have been able to obtain my license today. You guys are great, please keep doing what you do! read more

Met Stephanie and she informed me about the packages you can acquire for people without a driver's license. The idea of giving someone lessons so they won't have to walk or Uber everywhere sounds nice. The person I am thinking of doesn't need to own a car in order to drive. It is something that will help you out in may ways. Should he met the boy or girl of his dreams, she will not want drive him around all the time. These thought crossed my mind as Stephanie explained the options to me. Helping this man-child is not the best idea because of what happened the last time. Still,... this might be a way solve some problems... Thanks Stephanie. read more

JJ is a great instructor. Good job at normalizing the class and applying to common driving.

Terrible experience. Difficult communication to set up lessons for 2 learners. Instructor was rude and caused more anxiety than assistance. Requested refund. read more

Great 4 hour reckless driving class with Mike Patierno! Kept it interesting and insightful!

I've taking this class twice before but never learned as much or enjoyed the class as much as I did at AA Driving. Ali has a wealth of knowledge and keeps the class fun and interactive. Yes, you have to watch the videos and take an short exam at the end but its well worth the money considering you get 5 points on your driving record (which looks great in front of any judge in any county) and you can save money on you car insurance!!!! Basically it pays for itself. Well worth the investment of you time (Saturday morning for me) and money about $75 depending on what class. Overall, I will recommend this place to any of my friends in similar unfortunate traffic offense situations or terrible driving records. Bottom line: COME TO THIS PLACE IF YOU NEED TO TAKE A DEFENSIVE DRIVING COURSE. They also offer Reckless Driving courses God forbid that happens to any of us. AA get an A+++++ read more

I have been dealing with the Tysons office (Maria!) and all I can say is how patient and lovely the staff has been. I don't review often, but these people are caring and understanding of kids with LD issues. Moreover, I called numerous times to ask questions, and they were always happy to explain procedures in a patient and kind way. I am so happy I picked this school for my son. Thank you AA and Maria. read more

Drivers ed class instructor is always not there on fridays. I have driven my son down twice for class and no-one shows up.

I've been dealing with AA Driving Academy for classes since I first received my driver's license, and I definitely recommend this business. Recently, I was required to take a Driver Improvement Course. I registered for one of their 8-hour sessions, as they have very convenient timings along with multiple locations all throughout Northern Virginia. Ali was a very knowledgable, professional, and friendly instructor for this program, and I would definitely recommend him to anyone needing to take this class. read more

Springfield Location: JJ is an awesome teacher who brings real life situations in the class. He played a video that was raw and very mind changing on the way how people should drive. He is really into teaching this subject. A+ in my book. read more

Went to the Ashburn location after registering last evening, and it was cancelled due to only two students showing up. Thankfully, we were going to pay with cash on site and didn't get stuck with a "credit towards a future class". They really should be honest with themselves and have only class locations that actually will go forward. Not cool. read more

Called to set up an appointment for my daughter. I was told I needed to call Kashir the driver to negotiate rates and schedule. No way I would schedule someone outside of a reputable business take child in a car. i dont know who Kashir is but sounds a bit sketchy. read more

I took the 8 hour driving course today and believe me it was a grind... JJ made it interesting and was very personal and easy to relate to. If you're taking this class you've felt guilty from a lot of people but when you enter his classroom, no judgement is passed and he gives his own personal life time examples. I honestly believe this class saved my life tonight, on my way home at about 11:30pm I was practicing some of his safe driving techniques and a deer darted out of no where right in front of my car! I knew how to react and I was paying attention so luckily I didn't hit the deer and saved a lot of time, money and ultimately myself. Thanks JJ! read more

The instructor, Rob-Ali was awesome, always smiling and put all of those taking the course at ease, I would recommend the location, the instructor, the school and the course is so easy to study and follow all the requirements of the DMV in getting a passing grade, :) read more

I took the 8 hour Driver Improvement class here and it was great. JJ, the instructor, was very personable and made things interesting, not just a long lecture. It is nice that the course is offered on more than just Saturdays. read more

Went to the Alexandria location and it was a great class! I had Rob as an instructor and he was very informative. I really like how he had the class to interact and talk about different cases. I would most definitely recommend him anyone needing to take this class. read more

If you're going to attend this driving academy I do not recommend you take it with Ali. He is very rude, unprofessional, and unreliable. He makes his students very uncomfortable and does not take the time to teach them how to drive properly; he only cares about the money. read more

I called to confirm my registration and Milley was friendly and helpful. She was knowledgeable about the business and quickly provided me the necessary information to meet my certification for the court. The Defensive Driving Course - 8 hrs - was informative. The instructor had genuine desires to help and truly deliver an awareness that it's OUR choice to speed and be a defensive driver. I would recommend this agency for Driving Improvement Program; Re-examination learners permit/road test; Drivers ED & 90 minute parent/teen class; and teen behind the wheel training. read more

Courthouse location: Chris did an excellent job with the 8/23/15 class. He made the best of the material he had to present and kept what is otherwise dry instruction, light, humorous, and practical. read more

This is an awful company, completely unorganized and unreliable. Twice I showed up within posted office hours, and also after being told over the phone that they would be open these hours, and the office was closed. And upon calling to ask why the office is closed, was met with an argument rather than an apology. Awful customer service. Also, upon emailing management with my issues, no offer for reconciliation was made, and whoever emailed me back referred to the employees as "our girls." Also, make sure to ask which office you are speaking with when you call. Calls get forwarded to the Herndon office, even when you call other offices, and they do not specify. Disgusting, rude, and nearly impossible to work with. read more

I never thought a drivers education class could be so interesting and enjoyable. I wondered what we could talk about for 8 hours without me falling asleep or being bored out of my mind, but surprisingly everything went very well. The class was given stimulating instruction and we participated in a dialogue that covered new state laws, 'alert' topics for various driving behaviors, relevant driving experiences, and the class served as a reality check for both new and seasoned drivers. It was a lot of information, but it made an impact on how I regard myself and others sharing the road. There is a short exam at the end of the class. The instructor was Ali Kazmi, and I think he did a great job conveying an important message that I needed to hear. read more

Of course most likely if you're taking one of their courses you most likely don't want to be there in the first place but our instructor JJ made it a bit more bearable.
