As soon as you walk in there is a wall displayed with unique and cool t-shirts. My favorite was dedicated to Confusion Corner where eight roads come together in one intersection. This intersection is so famous that the legendary Charles Kuralt came to Stuart in 1979 to film an episode for his popular "On the Road" series. Pick up your I survived Confusion Corner shirt at Harbor Wear. They also have a number of other fun Stuart and Florida themed shirts. Other items they sell include hats, bags, dresses, accessories, and other souvenir items. They have a dressing room area for trying on clothes. After buying a few souvenir t-shirts at different events lately for as much as $40 a shirt, I found the prices here to be much more reasonable. I enjoyed chatting with the gentleman running the store, a transplanted South Floridian now living the quieter life on the Treasure Coast. Stuart is a more relaxed lifestyle and this store has everything you need to show your love for the Sailfish Capital of the World.

I loved the sweet botanicals at the Enchanted Forest, an Egyptian sarcophagus and chest, a playful monkey crawling across a bar, and the vintage cookie jars and glassware. The prices seemed very reasonable and the lovely ladies who were working were on hand to help but also left me free to explore as I prefer. Being ex-military showed up 20 minutes before they opened for the installation. Being experienced with hurry up and wait, figured I'd finish the morning cup of go-go juice and hang out. Nope. Chris and Ian saw me sitting outside waiting for opening time, came out and said come on in, we're good to go. Got a 4-hour estimate on install. 3.25 later, she was done. Only way I could be happier about the whole thing is if they told me it was free. LOL 110% satisfied.

My boyfriend got a collectible JFK coin for $34 and some cassette tapes. You could spend an entire day in this store and still not have seen everything they have to offer! You'll think you've seen it all, then wander across another hallway that has even more items for sale. To fund their programs including a food pantry and job coach program, they operate several thrift stores including this one, as well as Hobe Sound and Indiantown. I was surprised by how large and nice this thrift store is. Several rooms are filled with seasonal decorations including a large area of Christmas decorations, household goods, small appliances, clothes, accessories, kids items, large selection of furniture, and books. Everything was arranged artfully to give the store a boutique feel. In addition to shopping at their support stores you can donate your items at the rear of the store as well as give your time as a volunteer. Information on how to volunteer, their programs, and events are listed on the House of Hope website. This is a wonderful organization that deserves all of the community support it can get.

We both shopped around, my husband went one way to look at things he was interested in, and I went a different way to explore the store. No one ever greeted or spoke to me. It was my first time in the store and they had lots of nice items. I did have questions about some items I wanted to purchase, but was never acknowledged the entire time. I walked through the store from the dishes, clothing, to the furniture side. One tall dark haired woman walked past me at least 4 times in the store but only spoke to my husband across the store a couple of times. I was very sad when I left the store. He told me so much about this store and I was excited to get there. Not sure what happened here, but I wonder if it was because we are an interracial couple that I was never acknowledged, but my husband was.
