We had a devastating chimney fire right before thanksgiving 2023 in RSM! We had lived there for over 30 years and had no idea what to do or how to do it, I guess we were in shock! Lee Ellis came to our home the next day and told us about his company and how they can help us, we were reluctant but decided it seemed like a better deal as he could work with insurance to get us more then if we didn't use them- well it all was true! He right away helped us stay at the hotel we got the night before and worked with the hotel and insurance to have it paid, we were told by insurance to pay it and because of the Thanksgiving holiday we would have to wait to talk to anyone until a week or so but they would reimburse our receipts, not the case because Apex stepped in and we only had to pay that one night, plus they got a check right away for us to pay for food and things needed until we get settled, they also helped us find a near by house and moved us into it for 8 months! They were able to get extra money and items we would have never gotten without them which more than paid for their service. Overall I was pleasantly impressed with Lee and the whole company. Getting a call from my neighbor one afternoon telling me my rental property duplex attached garages were on fire. I was devastated. My tenants had burned down my garages and I was lost on what to do. After all the crazy fires we've had in the past few years, as a new homeowners, we were really concerned if we were protected enough. I understand how busy things can get; however, When I contacted a representative to follow up on questions & some concerns the representative did not return my phone messages or emails. After I had a fire at a property I own I was contacted by Lee Ellis with Apex Public Adjusters. Upon review, the fire happened the last week of July and Mr. Ellis was not licensed when he contacted me. I told him that I was going to contact my insurance company regarding the fire and will determine if a claim was going to be filed. At that time, I was out of the country. I never spoke with Mr. Ellis or anyone else at his company after that. Three weeks later, with no correspondence or otherwise, Mr. Ellis showed up unannounced at my personal residence. Coincidentally, his insurance license was issued that very same day. Not only was this unprofessional, it's unsafe. Never have I had someone from a company that was trying to sell me their professional services investigate where I live and show up at my home. It's unethical, aggressive and made me feel unsafe. He noted that he does this often and it's the business approach of Apex. I asked to speak with his boss or the owner of the company to explain my distain for what occurred. Still no call or contact from ownership. This company is absolute trash and canvassing the residences of potential "clients" is beyond dangerous. The owner Bill lives in LaCanada and directs his underlings to show up at people's homes. Absolute clown show all around. read more
