Our only complaint is that we didn't start the project with them. 10/10 would recommend.

Our builder…read moresubcontracted with this company and therefore, we did not have any previous relationship with this company. ( Please note that my past experience with pool companies has not been positive.) Now that we have moved into our new home, we have plenty of experiences with which to draw from and lots of comments about the many vendors and subcontractors that were used to build our new home. Most were about what you would expect from these kinds of small businesses and subcontractors . However, rather than complain we want to highlight the top 3-5 businesses that stood out among this large list. SCV Pools is in our top 5 and easily "made the cut". By way of background, this company builds exquisite pools, decks, spas with creative, artistic design work. While our budget did not allow for the higher end products, we were still treated as though we were building their best. Don't get me wrong, we have a well-designed, lovely pool with infinity edge and wet deck. Why am I taking the time to write a review and give a 5 star rating? Simple. These are pool professionals that know what they are doing, show up when they say they are going to be onsite, and stand by their work. (Unfortunately, we cannot say this about many of our other subcontractors.) Steve, Robin, and Mariam were quick to reply to our inquires, questions and emails. We would highly recommend SCV Pools to others who are planning to build.

The demo and waterline tile are done and it hasn't been too bad except they won't return our emails, they won't schedule the last phase and a project that was 5 weeks is who knows how long because they won't get us on the plaster schedule and right now we are told it is 2 months out and no way to schedule us for some reason. Weeks of asking to get scheduled with no response. I have included the owner in our communication as well so this isn't just about one person, this is clearly a company thing. I highly encourage you to look elsewhere. Add to the fact that we don't have a pool they have left equipment etc here so I'm sitting on my lanai in a robe and at 6:45am my dog barks like crazy and it is the employees wanting to pick some stuff up. Has happened two of the last three days. The list goes on with all the frustrating things happening with this company. Did I mention food has been left out including a chicken bone we only discovered because our dog was trying to eat it?

-- Detailed and Sophisticated, Responsive, Taking Initiative, Managing Reasonable Expectation…read more We looked at quite a few bids to finish our basement across the span of almost one whole year. Korey's bid was not the cheapest we got. However, he was the only person that demonstrated a well-thought through vision for our basement, not just a view of patching up walls and putting down carpets but a sophisticated and detailed vision, which we liked and appreciated. From the first time he came over for a bid, he set our expectation to a reasonable time range. However, throughout the construction period, he would take the initiative to move up the scheduling whenever possible, even if that means he had to call to schedule and then reschedule. This has cut down a significant amount of construction time we prepared ourselves for, which makes us happy. Throughout the construction period, he is very responsive to our questions and comments. He is also very knowledgeable of different considerations we were facing, ex. how to design the ceiling of the theater room we wanted so the odd air duct could be hidden as if it was part of the design. He is very detail-oriented and itemizes preparatory things as well as billing meticulously. This helps us have a clear mind set and timeline on what we could expect from them and what we were expected as well. The same applies to billing and payment as well. We have had a great time working with Korey, people associated with SALT/him, and people who came to help us finish our basement. We would recommend him and SALT to anyone without any hesitation.

***DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY*…read more Initial Complaint Date: 10/09/2025 Type: Service or Repair Issues Status: UnansweredMore info On July 10, 2025 we paid in advance the full amount of $6,817.86 per contract to Remodel Express to have a portion of our hickory wood floor replaced in our kitchen due to flooding. This also included having our kitchen, dining room, living room, front entry way, and hallway sanded, re-stained and polyurethaned to all match. Remodel Express hired a subcontractor, ******, who had two installers come and do our floors. It was expressly discussed with ****** and ******** that we had custom floors and our number 1 concern was to keep the character of the floors and avoid sanding too much off making the floor look like a gymnasium floor. ****** inspected and said that they would just sand down about 1/16th of an inch, just enough to remove the old finish but keep the hand scraped appearance around the edges. His guys came and promptly sanded our floors past the 1/16" th which the guy stated that he sanded them way down because our floor was not level, but it was flat and level now! He did not ask in advance I explained that we had agreed to only sand 1/16th of an inch but that he went too far and sanded out all the hand scraped edges and character of the boards leaving a tightly fitted floor which we did not want. He then told us that he could fix it with a special rotary tool (skill saw) but would have to bring it the following day. He stained the floor and then used his "rotary tool" and ran random, sloppy wide 1/4" gaps randomly all over our floor leaving crooked, splintered, burned and separated areas that looked horrible. He did not even transition the doorways and instead just rubbed stain across without even blending. He commented that his nephew was drunk on the last day and did not show up to help and he was in a hurry for another job and left without notifying us. We complained and the companies both came out and agreed that our floor was poorly done and they would collaborate and get back to us. It has been 4 weeks and they have not returned my calls or texts.

The work area was clean and he did a very good job installing and finishing the floors.
