Our house is over 100 years old and we needed extensive repairs including replacement siding windows and doors. Fortunately, we found Apex. From the initial consultation by Carlos, through the execution of the project led by our project manager Jim, we were totally impressed. They did the repairs and replacements timely, quickly, and with quality. Each team member was competent, polite, and downright friendly. They were so respectful and communicated well with my wife who rab point. As you can imagine, we ran into a few surprises as they began the demolition portion of the project. Their immediate response to what they uncovered was stellar by bringing in other team members timely. The bottom line is that we are extremely satisfied with the work that they did. Great work with fair pricing. Thank you Apex! read more

Had problems getting a quote that was reasonable. It was outpriced a lot of compared to other people and I've used them in the past. Never had problems like this but then they had someone new doing this and I don't know why they were having problems of getting help. read more

I was looking for a local company to do a problem I had on a flat roof in Genoa IL. Contact person was Chris who not only solved the problem but actually went beyond that. Came to our house and did a great job to fix a couple problems. If I need any flat roof work I woukd not hesitate to use this Company again. read more

From start to finish Apex was very professional. David Downs who gave us our estimate was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Chad the Foreman of our roofing crew was very kind and took the time to explain what was going to happen for the day. The roofers were very polite and professional. They covered all our flowers and bushes with tarps before beginning. Their 6 crew was done in about 7.5hrs with our entire roof. Once finished they cleaned everything up and it was immaculate. Our new roof looks fantastic and we truly appreciate their professionalism from start to finish. Definitely recommend Apex! read more

Apex Exteriors - New black roof on our home. - Roofing Near Me - South Elgin, Illinois

Apex showed up a half hour early to the appt and never called to see if we would be there. Luckily we were. The inspector was nice, however it has been over a week now and we still have not received a quote. I have contacted Apex asking where it is and was told that they would look into it. Two days later I have not heard a peep from them. Don't waste your time with them. read more

I hired Apex Exterior to replace my roof, gutters and fascia almost 6 years ago. They did not complete the job based on the contract they wrote, signed and were paid to do. As a result of their negligence I now have mold in my attic. I have given them an opportunity to correct this matter however have just heard their excuses and then nothing from them. Not only did they not do the job they were paid for but they didn't do it correctly at the beginning to avoid problems down the road. Oversell and hope you don't notice seems to be their motto unfortunately. Be careful because it may look and sound great but it may not be done right or what you overpaid for! read more

I had Apex replace my cedar shake roof with an asphalt roof and they did an awesome job. Especially pleased at how they cleaned up the worksite at the end of every day until it was done. I'd use Apex again. -Steve in South Elgin read more

In August of 2021 the siding of our house was damaged from high winds. We went through numerous companies and they either never called us back, or it wasn't big enough a job that was worth the resources. A year went by and the damage from more high winds escalated. I eventually contacted 3 more companies to explain our situation and Apex called me back within the hour, setup a visit and had the job done within 2 weeks at a reasonable cost. Their customer service team was responsive and followed through, as did Gary who came out and did the estimate. I am grateful for Apex and the quick turnaround and care they put into putting my house back together. Highly recommend! read more

Extremely poor customer service! Gary came out to give us a quote and spent about 45 minutes discussing options. He emailed us with a follow-up question and then... "ghosted" us. We attempted to contact him via email and by calling the office. We feared something happened to him, but were reassured he was fine and they would have him contact us. It did not happen. We called back to see if someone else could finish the estimate. The woman answering the phone seems shocked by what happened and assured us someone would call us back. We've never heard from them since. Glad to be going with another company. Looks like this has happened to other potential customers as well. Buyer beware!!! read more

I was referred to Apex by my girlfriend who had her roof done with this company previously and said the service, quality, cost and timeliness of work was on point. From the beginning, David Downs was beyond helpful, considerate, pro-active and dedicated to getting our roofs, siding, and gutters replaced. He worked with our insurance company endlessly, kept us updated on timelines, understood our urgency and timelines and kept a positive and supportive attitude through it all. We love the end result of the construction and can say our house is one of the sharpest on the bock! I'd be remiss if I didn't mention Larry and Rebecca for their courtesy and prompt responses as well. I would recommend this business for any home repairs you need! read more

I contracted with APEX Exteriors for the replacement of my aging Cedar Shake roof with DaVinci Bella Forte Shakes. Given the complexity of this roofing system, hiring a professional is crucial and APEX Exteriors delivered an exceptional result. With project management direction from Larry and crew leader Pedro, the APEX team put quality over speed of project completion. I am a tough customer to please and Larry an his crew took the time to insure the final project was completed to my 100% satisfaction. What unique about APEX Exteriors is that they have "Master of Unique Trades" and "Jack is All Trades". With my roofing project i has 5 unique trade: Sloped Roofer, Flat Roofers, Exterior Trim Carpenter, Metal Flasher, and Gutters. Each trade worked in concert with each other in complete unison. During the project, with oversight from Larry and crew leader Pedro, the worksite was always clean at the end of each day with material re-stacked keeping my property presentable. And the crews could not be nicer. Net/net, I would highly recommend APEX Exteriors for any ho e exterior project. "Job Well Done!" read more

After a rocky start with a salesman, Tony that is no longer there I can honestly say, OMG!!! In a good way this time. Yep, that's how I feel with the Highly Professional job that was just finished on my house. It was a long wait and in the beginning very frustrating. To be honest, I could of cared less when it was started. I think Mother Nature knew, since the weather wouldn't cooperate the last 2 months. Finally with a break from the rains, my house was started yesterday, Monday, May 2nd and completed today! That couldn't of happened without the talented craftsmen on the job. They completely removed the old cedar siding, wrapped the house, passed inspection, started and finished the front of the house with the new siding. WOW!!! Take a breath here. They had a goal and they completed it. Not rushed, but with conviction. The lead installer, Manuel, was exceptional in making sure all steps were done properly and I was satisfied every step of the way. He is extremely detailed oriented, very personable, and a true professional, as were the entire crew. He takes pride in his work and told me that he wants his work to be right, as if it was his own home. I sure can't leave out John Egelston, the Project Manager. He was polite to talk too, on time and made sure everything was scheduled for the day, to his high standards. He would meet with the crew, and explained what he wanted accomplished for the day. You could tell by watching the crew, they respected him not as just the boss, but as a person too. You didn't get the impression from John actions, that he felt superior to them, but equal. John's eye to little details, not thought of by the homeowner, was impressive. He went beyond doing "the job" as if he was working on his own house. What a refreshing attitude. Something that he has instilled in his men as well. It's easy to complain and point out the wrong, but it is also important to give praise when praise is due. Apex Exteriors has the professional ethics that one doesn't see much of these days. Where a person's word can be taken as a hand shake from the 50's. A true rarity. I'm a stickler for perfection and expect no less. Apex Exteriors is perfection! I would gladly recommend Apex Exteriors to anyone needing your type of services. Thank you for a superior experience. An A++ rating from this satisfied customer. Yours truly, Pat read more

Apex Exteriors was initially very easy to work with. They came to my house after a hail storm in 2011 to ask to inspect my roof. They worked with us to get a claim through my insurance company. It was surprisingly easy and I had been happy with them until now. I did business with an extension of their office in Middleton WI. Fast forward to now - June 2018. During an inspection while trying to sell my house, the inspector found evidence of a long-time leak in a part of the attic that is unfinished. The buyers realtor arranged for an estimate. The estimating roofer was disappointed that the flashing around the chimney was not replaced and the bells around the vents were not replaced when when the roof was replaced. The estimating roofer said those items should have been replaced during a roofing replacement. But he said I should be able to get our roofing contractor to fix it under warranty if I had a 10 year warranty, but it might be too late if I had a 7 year warranty. So I checked my warranty - it's for only 1 year. Apex Exteriors only stands by their work for one year. Easy to do business with but crappy work. read more

This company CANNOT be beat! They're professional, respectful & their workmanship is impeccable! We had new gutters added and the gentleman that came to install the gutters, commented on how well done the roof was. He pointed out details that he said most roofers skip over as they are more time consuming and tedious to do. We are so impressed, we have hired them to replace all our windows too! Wish I could give 10 stars! *The team of roofers were incredibly hard working. They never stopped! Thank you Apex for making the whole process easy and for providing us with a beautiful new roof to keep our little girls dry! read more

The quoted work was either not performed properly or not at all. Completely overpaid for what we actually received. Will not be using again.

Mike and the team did a wonderful job with our home and I highly recommend them. We needed all new flashing on our windows, drip caps along the sides of our house, and siding repair from water damage. Mike came out a did a thorough review, made great recommendations and quoted us an extremely fair price for the amount of work involved. It turned out that Mike's recommendations were right in line with what my father (an architect) told me we needed done on our house, so I felt very confident with his professional opinion. Also, our house is over 100 years old, and I was so nervous that the repairs could detract from the decorative elements above our windows. However, they found materials that perfectly complemented our home and I could not be more thrilled. I will definitely go back to them if we need other repairs in the future! read more

Just had our roof replaced by Apex. Brian did a great job with the estimate and scheduling. They also provide you with the info on how to deal with Com Ed if you need electric wires covered. The crew was polite and helpful when I needed to get in or out of the house while they were working. Done in 2 days and nice job on the clean-up too. read more

If I could I would give them no stars. My deck contractor brought Apex in to check my flat roofs. Apex made a recommendation that was virtually identical to that of their competitor. Apex pointed out the fact that their roofing membrane was superior to other materials at the same cost. The sales/estimator (I forget his name) went out to his truck to calculate the price. He quoted us a bit over $24,000. When I told him to forget about the job, he asked me what price I had in mind. We dismissed Apex, as we had already received a quote from a top roofing contractor in Chicago for $5,000. This is clearly a case of a salesman trying to price up to what he perceived to be our ability to pay. Caveat Emptor!!! Strongly suggest staying away from this outfit. Oh, by the way....the competitor did a very good job with one crew that completed the job in a day and a half. read more

Brian Hauschild was our representative/salesman at Apex and he was very responsive, and helpful. We had a lot of questions and challenges relating to budget and timing and Brian worked with us in a way that convinced us that Apex was the right company to hire. They surpassed our expectations. They respected our property, cleaned up their mess at the end of every day and sought our input when they had options to improve what we contracted for (at no extra cost). The result is a beautiful and enduring new cedar shake roof! read more

Apex is an amazing company... hard workers from start to finish. From your first call they take care of you. Setting up an estimate was a breeze, they even send you a confirmation e-mail with the picture of the estimator who is coming to your home. How cool is that. The estimator came out and gave me a fair honest assessment of my roof and I plan on replacing it next spring. And the courtesy and professionalism of Apex they have my business. I'm excited to work with apex in the future! Kudos ... you got my vote!!! read more

I contacted Apex to reroof my home and replace the gutters and downs. David Downs was the estimator and he did a great job going over what to expect and making recommendations on my flat section of roof. The terrible rain this year delayed the work but once they got me scheduled, the work proceeded as anticipated. When the work was completed, there was one small issue with the gutter extenders. I contacted them and the issue was resolved right away. The roof and gutters look great. The workers were done in a day and a half and they did a great job of cleaning up afterwards. I was given their name as a reference from my boss who also had his roof replaced. I would highly recommend them as well. read more

Good people, good company, I can't say enough about this company! To start Dave was right on time for our estimate and he was very kind and professional. I really love the materials this company uses, they are very high quality. Dave understood my needs and listened to my concerns. he made me feel confident in his company and more knowledgeable of my situation. also I want to add that the range of materials and colors were incredible. Now for the work to be done... The small team of laborers showed up at the time specified and I appreciated that they were mindful of my landscaping, and neighbors property. They spoke English and were very friendly. They didn't putz around, they got right to work and finished ahead of schedule by an hour or so. (all in a day) Most importantly...the result, Simply amazing, it looks great! better than other peoples who just had their roofs done in my neighborhood. they even cleaned up after themselves, I didn't find any nails, pieces of old shingles, or even cigarette butts! my wife was thrilled:) so I was too! thankyou so very much Dave and Apex Crew!!! read more

This is a review for the estimate appointment. David Downs was AWESOME!! Came out for an estimate and actually got up on the roof to inspect and measure. We will definitely use these guys in the future, and will be asking for David. read more

I cannot say enough good things about Apex. Specifically Dave Coppes. His Customer service skills are amazing! Tony, from Apex came out to do an estimate on my loose fascia issue and a gutter issue I had. He told me her was going to email me an estimate. After 3 days, I called the office to find out where my estimate was. When I talked to the office, they stated that they talked with Tony and that I would get my estimate by the next day. I never received my estimate. And, yes, I checked my junk email box. They never bothered to give me an estimate or to acknowledge that I existed. So much for customer service. I am in the real estate business, I would never recommend them to anyone. read more

Had a great experience working with Apex on a new roof and insulation in the attic. We worked with Ken to have him give us a quote and he was super friendly and knowledgeable and always prompt. I contacted Apex Exteriors on Monday Jan. 3, 2011 and spoke with Irene who was very helpful. Our house is only 8 or 9 years old and some shingles had come off the roof on Jan 1st. Irene said they could send someone out the next day(Tues. Jan 4, 2011) between 1:00and 3:00pm. As promised, the Apex Exterior serviceperson (Justin M.) came out and not only replaced the missing shingles, but inpected the whole roof from inside and out. He even took pictures of the damaged areas before he did the repairs so we could see the damage. We only needed 4 shingles replaced and Justin advised that the roof was still in good shape. He was very knowledgeable and answered all of my questions and concerns. I would most definitely recommend Apex Exteriors for prompt, courteous, and knowledgeable service. read more
