This review is on Dr. Jon Bjarnason, who has just joined this location. Let me tell you the story…read morehow he saved my sanity and why Dr. Jon is a superhero. I first met Dr. Bjarnason in September 2015 and I was at a pretty low point. Despite having a chronic pain condition, I was actually being derailed by freak symptoms. My life was being taken over by constant migraines and multiple dizzy spells each day, that had come out of nowhere. After 10 months of seeing multiple specialists and having countless tests done, I was feeling pretty desperate. All these specialists were telling me that the sudden onset of symptoms was a mystery and I would probably never know the reason, nor would they go away. I was in constant pain, my vision would blur while driving or doing equally scary things, I felt like my life was hijacked and nobody was helping me- it was terrifying and my quality of life was diminished significantly. Dr. Bjarnason was the very first person to have a reasonable diagnosis that he arrived at by just talking to me and looking at me. He is very diligent, so this was confirmed by x rays. The best part for me was he didn't want to keep pumping me full of pills or do a surgery, and he had a logical explanation for why these symptoms came on suddenly and took over my life, despite having no past history. To be honest I found the idea of seeing any chiropractor very unnerving and I was extremely nervous about the idea of adjustments. I really had no reason to think poorly of chiropractors, I didn't know anyone who had a bad experience, nor did I have a bad experience, I just got it in my head that it wasn't for me. I was originally looking for a massage therapist when I met him, and he just happened to care enough to get to the bottom of the situation. That was fantastic... but it didn't mean I thought I was ready to let go of my OCD tendencies and have someone put their hands on my neck! The thought filled me with a lot of anxiety, mostly because I hadn't really considered it before. I could see his patients in the waiting room loved him, but that didn't make me feel much better about the idea of getting adjusted myself either. I was thrilled to finally know what was wrong with, especially since it was physical and could be managed with treatment... but I was still really scared. It's kind of shocking to learn you've lost 40 degrees of curvature in your neck and kind of creepy to know your upper vertebrae are putting pressure on your brain stem leading to all these crazy symptoms and basically bringing you to your knees. I had been through hell though, and deep down I wanted to exhaust all options and believe that there was a way to be myself again. He consulted with me multiple times without adjusting me until I was comfortable with it, which I highly doubt could be said at most places! A patient volunteered to be adjusted while I watched the process. She was clearly satisfied and relaxed, but I felt startled. I've told that specific story a few times and it always makes me laugh now. Let's just say that after doing a lot of research, talking to lots of people with experience and him explaining the process many times, I finally gave it a chance- THANK GOD! It took me a few times to get used to it, I'm a high strung person by nature, so I'm terrible at relaxing. My symptoms were pretty severe, and due to my work schedule I took things slower than recommended, but I started to see a change after a few weeks of adjustments and doing assigned exercises. Eventually, I was actually having some migraine free days. Around that time I also noticed my body wasn't just responsive to the treatments, but had loosened enough that I could start picking up on signals and sometimes head off the symptoms before they fully developed. I started to learn what activities I was doing that would bring them on. He helped me eventually see true causes, instead of solely responding to triggers. In case you can't tell yet, Dr. Bjarnason is amazing! He is very patient, asks the right questions, listens to me thoughtfully and does careful adjustments. He also makes suggestions on therapy and everyday things like posture, or how to do activities differently to help. It's not the same thing every time, he tailors your visit to your actual needs. I feel educated and relieved when I leave a session, instead of confused about what was done and why. Things aren't exactly the same as before everything started, but the progress is mind boggling! I got my life back, I got hope back, and it was such a relief. I eventually found the sweet spot in frequency that allowed me to go for maintenance more often than an emergency. I trust him implicitly and have recommended him to several acquaintances, but would 110% recommend him to anyone, especially someone who has never met a chiropractor before and is anxious about it like I was. If you only ever meet or get treated by one chiropractor, I pray it's him.

Absolutly worth it! I was always a little nervous of chiropractic care. However, when I was in the…read morebeginning of my second trimester of pregnancy and had sciatic nerve pain that simply needed to be addressed and managed, I took a chance with Dr. Jon. I have been receiving care from Dr. Jon for several months now. I always feel welcome, well informed and taken care of at his practice. I would and do recommend Dr. Jon to anyone looking for alternative/holistic benefits to their daily discomfort or for pain management.

let me start off by saying I was a exhausted mom and was at my wits end when my 9 week old baby…read morecould not hardly sleep and she was just acting like she was miserable. as a new mom I was desperate and I went to Bobby and Brooke and Sydney. everyone helped in their own way. we went 2 times a week for about 3 weeks and I had a COMPLETELY different baby. by the 2nd adjustment, I was beyond grateful for a poop diaper. my hips are also very rotated at the time when I was carrying my son, Brooke and Sydney both specialize in helping women who are pregnant ease the back pain and the AWFUL leg pain. ( ladies you know exactly what I'm talking about) you think that your gonna be miserable for 9months -- NOPE. not without their help. dealing with insurance is never anyone's cup of tea. the office alone will explain everything in detail and call your insurance and ask all the questions to make sure your getting the best coverage. I cannot and will not go anywhere else

I would give Stroud Chiropractic a zero if I could. They advertise their expertise with Sciatica,…read moreso I needed help with my first occurrence of Sciatica, which was extremely painful. After being in bed for a week and slowly recovering my ability to walk, I went to Stroud Chiropractic. They made me stand at a computer to fill out a crazy amount of paperwork and many pages of forms--I never saw an intake process like this, and I am 65 years old. After filling out the forms, which took about an hour, I sat for another 45 minutes to see Dr. Brook Martin. The office was somewhat chaotic and them seemed more interested in hustling patients in and out of their office, particularly as the day was coming to a close. The exam process was overly rigorous for my Sciatica pain. Based on their website, I decided to go to Stroud Chiropractic, which claims they are highly skilled at relieving sciatica pain. Unfortunately, I left their office in so much pain that I could hardly walk or drive my car. I was unable to drive the 20-minute journey home without stopping multiple times to stand up to attempt to alleviate the pain. Why would they have let me drive home in that kind of condition? My wife took me to the emergency room in the most pain I ever experienced in my life. The pain level was a 10/10, and I felt nauseous and almost passed out. As a result, I had to spend five days on bed rest before finally feeling well enough to see a spinal specialist for a proper diagnosis. My pain was so severe that I still hurt after taking muscle relaxants, an opioid painkiller, and also took some ibuprofen. I was up every hour on the hour to take a 10-minute hot shower to relieve the pain, as it was the only thing that would work. This entire experience has caused me considerable duress, loss of pay, and a massive impact on my well-being. I believe it could have been prevented if the chiropractor had approached my care differently. The chiropractor made me do many movements while standing, which resulted in the returning sciatica pain that was very much worse than the original incident. It would have been much better if she could perform a gentle hands-on palpation to identify the areas of tenderness, restricted movement, etc. While the doctor was taking xrays I was in so much pain I couldn't continue standing in the position so she could take more xrays. I sat there for 15 or 20 minutes to regain my compusure, then another assistant came in to finish giving me the xrays and I could still hardly stand and the pain returned. She was even having problems with the machine and prolonged my misery by having me take the x-ray a couple of more times to get the right image on the x-ray. They refused to give me the x-rays after I requested them. They said that the only way I could find out about the x-ray results was to meet with the doctor. Weeks later, when I went to a physical therapist, I had six sessions before I was allowed to bend at the waist. Some movements, like bending over at the waist, are a huge "don't do" with sciatica, yet this chiropractor had me do it and caused me a great deal of injury. I will not be returning to this office for any more care. I requested that we work something out with my payment for these services because I don't believe it is ethical to charge me for something that cost me many times over their service charges in lost wages and medical expenses. After speaking with the office about their lack of flexibility, they have referred my account to a bill collector. I will not pay them their couple of hundred dollars so they can harass me all they want. Stroud Chiropractic is not a place that I will ever step foot in again. They certainly demonstrated to me that they didn't care about my well-being.
