    My countertop water purifier unit.
    Carla B.

*** Excellent phone and in person customer service and EXCELLENT countertop portable water purifying system! *** We needed a water purifying system that was budget-friendly, easy to install, that really worked (since I *hate* heavy tasting water) and was portable. It seemed almost impossible, and I was not about to start buying those huge 5 gallon bottles that'll injure your back any time you carry it to do a refill. I'd seen reverse osmosis systems that were either over a thousand bucks or simply required a professional to do the installation, or required tweaking the pipes. I didn't want any of that either. I also wanted something portable, since I don't know if I want to stay in the apartment where I live. The cheaper answer in this case is something like a PUR water jar, or one of those cheaper smaller round units you screw onto the kitchen faucet, but I don't trust them taste wise or in terms of how well they process the water since it's just one filter. There was another option of a countertop purifier I saw on eBay, but the fact it cost less than 30 bucks seemed fishy and it didn't have reverse osmosis system. And alas I found the website for these people! I called prior and the guy who took the call answered all my ignorant questions patiently and was very friendly. It's an hour drive from L.A., so my bf went on his day off and saw the unit at their showroom. Of course he, too, asked silly questions that were answered by the sales representative with a professional and friendly attitude. He says the experience was smooth and pleasant. He sampled the water, brought me a bottle, I liked it, so I went online and purchased. Shipping was prompt and very fast, and they packaged everything very nicely. They even included an extra filter and a water testing stick for free. :-) !!! We got a 4-stage Reverse Osmosis countertop purifying system that you screw onto any faucet, is not bulky and requires no heavy installation or tools. You screw with you hand: that's it! the purifier leaks water through 2 sources -- one that will have the wasteful, unclean water, and the other little hose that dispenses the clean processed water. You should see the waste water! It was completely gray -- scary! That gray smelly water is naturally mixed with a minimum of clean water in regular tap water, but of course you don't see it because they're mixed. When the filter separates these two it's just impressive. Most importantly, the difference in taste post-filtering is amazing! I also love not having to carry boxes of bottled water from the supermarket, and the fact that I'm now not using so much plastic is cool since it's environmentally-friendly, too. The purifier takes a little while to fill a gallon container, but it's worth it. And it's practical: you can leave it screwed onto the faucet, and by pulling or pushing a little metallic stick you get regular tap water to do the dishes, or purified water for drinking. It's also a great way to save money. The model I bought cost me $294.26 with tax, shipping and handling included. That's 80¢ a day for a year! A bottle of water costs $1.50 anywhere and contains only 2 servings! Pa-ra-pa-pa-paaaah -- I'm lovin' that! Joke aside, it really *is* one of the best investments I've done.

I spent a good amount of time researching different water softener systems because I wanted to make sure I was getting the best system for my money. After comparing several options, I decided to go with Diamond Pure, and I'm really glad I did. The installation process was smooth, quick, and very professional. The technician showed up on time, worked efficiently, and made sure everything was installed correctly. He also walked me through how the system works and answered all my questions so I would know what to do if anything ever came up. What I really like is how simple and easy the system is to understand and maintain. Overall, the entire experience from getting information, to purchasing, to installation was excellent. Based on my experience, the performance declined much sooner than expected, and I did not feel like the issue was taken seriously or properly evaluated.

No big problems, just a series of small ones that led to a lot of inconvenience and a more cost on our end. 1. They were supposed to arrive at 10 a.m. on a Tuesday, but forgot. My son had taken the day off and had to take an additional day the next Thursday. We'd already been without hot water a week at that time. When my son finally called and asked when we could expect them, owner said he forgot about our appointment. Worried he might lose the job, he apologized over the phone and offered to give us a discount amounting to a day's pay for my son. My son told him they could discuss it when they arrived to install the softener. 2. My son lost a vacation day but not any actual cash so after thinking on it, he decided he'd spread some good karma and tell the guy that we forgave the mistake and that no discount was necessary. But neither he nor I had the chance. The owner would not look me in the eye and quickly walked away when I tried to talk to him. I use a cane and was not going to chase after him. Before the job was finished, he took off leaving the technicians to finish and collect the payment. I'm guessing he took off because he didn't want us to bring up the offered discount. 3. ** On a positive not, the technician that oversaw the job (owners daughter?) was friendly and knowledgeable. In fact, she finally went to the hardware store herself after their electrician kept coming back with the wrong part. (They had to install an exterior outlet for the softener). 4. Our system was not able to be installed in the garage do to access to our main water line. Instead, it was installed on the south side of our house, in all-day direct sunlight. Now we need to figure out some way to shade the softener as direct heat can damage the tank and the electronics in the control valve. In addition, where it is placed, the discharged water flows to our our lemon tree and line of cypress trees. We had to choose losing our trees from the softener salt ($10 a bag) or going with the more costly potassium salt ($40 a bag). We chose to save our trees. 5. What they did not tell us is that people with kidney disease or those on certain blood pressure medications, including the one I take, can develop a dangerous, sometimes deadly condition known as hyperkalemia when ingesting extra potassium. I now need to buy bottled water to drink and cook with. 6. The day following the install, we had a leak in the yard and sprinklers that did not work. The leak was a broken sprinkler pipe, possibly from their electric tamper or digging for the softener line. The sprinkler issue was caused by a broken valve in the box where they hooked into the main line. Thankfully, my son was able to figure out the problems and fix them himself. In all, our experience with this company was neither bad nor good. Just OK. It would have been nice if someone apologized or at least told us they broke the sprinkler valve. Mostly, I'm disappointed that the owner (Carlos) went out of his way not to make good on his offer to give my son a discount for the day he took off work -- even though my son planned to turn it down. His actions speak more to his character than his initial apology and offer of a discount when he thought he might lose the job.

Based on other Yelp reviews, I called Fina/DLC to inquire about installing a new water softener…read moresystem at the house. I spoke to Carlos who was responsive and easy to work with. I just had to text him some photos of my plumbing system for a quote. And, they had the best price. The new system has been in use for almost a month now and so far so good. After booking an installation appointment, the technicians arrived on time and two technicians installed the system in like 2 hours (which is fast in my opinion). One of my neighbors bought a softener system and hired a plumber to install the system as a weekend side hustle and that guy needed like half a day. They take Zelle or check payments.
