While it is located outside of the city, and not in a typical commercial area, it worked for me as I had a rental car. A quick 15 minute drive, I got to the Molindo Dorindo metro station with ample and safe parking, from there, I was able to easily get into Milan on an inexpensive metro day pass. It took about 10 minutes on the metro to get to the Cardona FN station, and another 5 minutes to Duomo. Additionally, it is only a 30-45 min drive (dependent on traffic) to Como. In Como, there is a free car port at the start of the ferry line- I parked my rental and used the ferry to visit around the lake including Bellagio. Then, let's talk about why a semi-hotel snob like me would give Poli 5 stars. No better substantiation than the VALUE!!! The staff (front desk, bar tender, wait staff at the restaurant, and housekeeping) is absolutely amazing! The restaurant and front desk staff can communicate well in English, and they showed such genuine hospitality. Beyond the professionalism, they demonstrated such warmth and helpfulness. Let me give you an example- as we were leaving for our day trip, I asked to buy a large bottle water from the bar for the road- the staff realized my plan and where I was going, and she thoroughly explained to me the shops that I would be passing by down the street, and recommended that I should stop at the shops to get the water and snacks as I would pay so much less. She cares!!! Then, let's talk about the awesome breakfast that is included in every reservation. 7am to 10 am- open breakfast buffet with fresh squeezed OJ, made to order coffee beverages, omelet station, various freshly baked goods, a charcuterie selection, and even a chocolate fountain. All this goodness is served in their homey, brightly lit and spacious restaurant, Talk about value!!! Of course the most important value that should be delivered by a hotel is a good night's sleep. I got it here! The room is very clean and comfy. The bed is firm just the way I like it, the shower does leak a bit of water through the glass divider, but hey, I don't need to clean it up. The temperature control in the room is also really good... I slept so well all three nights! This place is almost like a big well run family inn with the extra caring touch that you don't usually find in a major chain. The rates are also very reasonable - granted, it is not exactly a fair comparison for me to mention that the total cost for my 3 night stay was the same as the cost of 1 night I spent in Switzerland in an equivalent location just the week before. I highly recommend Poli to anyone visiting Milan who's got ground transportation figured out!

We liked the area and thought we would book them again for our last night (7/25). I asked them about availability for that night when I checked if they resolved the check-in issue (they said our card was not going through, so had to keep trying). I let our travel agent know and she booked us for that night (7/25). I did not know that the hotel also decided to book us, but under my husband's name. Anyway, after a long, last travel day in Italy taking two trains and a bus to return to Milan, they checked us in under the booking they had created unbeknownst to us. We had already paid for the travel agent booking. Once home, we figured out we were charged twice for the same night. They denied my requests, our agent's requests and the travel agency management's request to make this right. I disputed the charge with my cc, but since the charge is listed differently when it was booked through the agency, the hotel made a case to the cc card company that I had not paid twice. So shady!

Despite it is more expensive than the initial hotel we booked, this is definitely worth the money. First, if you are walking to the hotel, there's a small 'shortcut' that I believe everyone is aware of as you are on the street 'Via Fabio Filzi', there's a car gate and a walking door gate that looks like it's for the business buildings in that area, but if you walk through there, you can actually walk to the hotel. Rest assure Americans, they have English speaking employees that will assist you if it's your first time in Italy. They also have breakfast every morning that's pretty generous on the different selections of food, fresh fruits, cereal, etc. The room we got is on the 14th floor and the view is magnificent. Also the room is very spacious and the restroom is pretty big as well. The hotel is walking distance from Milano Centrale, which makes this a convenient location. I know this place shows 4 Euro signs and yes, it can be pricey during high season, but if you come visit Italy during off season, the price is very reasonable for the quality of the stay.

The staff spoke great English, and were happy to hold our bags when we checked out. It wasn't too close to the city center or Duomo, but there was a street car stop right outside that took you to all the important places you might need to go. Really my only complaint is breakfast. Not because it was a bad breakfast (it was by far the most amazing, lavish, well rounded buffet breakfast I've ever had), but because it seemed like it was included in the room rate during check in ("breakfast is served between 7-11"), and when we went to breakfast ("room number, please"). Turns out it was 20 euros each. Pretty steep for breakfast - though it was a great breakfast.

We were worried about the street noise but all worked out ok. When the tourists are gone, locals done partying, becomes very quite. Actually, trash truck comes at 5 30 am. Bed is clean, comfortable, temperature is jut right. All the furnishings are super modern and belongs in an art museum. Its small but very functional. Bathroom is all copper except the ceiling. Floor is copper, even the shower. Rain shower with very strong water pressure is a big plus. Lots of hot water. Two waters and nesspresso pods are complimentary. Fully stocked refrigerator with pricing list on the QR code linked. If you are a first timer, will struggle little bit with light switches. Still do not know how to turn the bedside lights. Very clean, comfortable, quite and friendly staff and few steps from M1, and being in the center of Milan, a must!

I was deciding between the Novotel or the Crowne Plaza and opted for the Crowne Plaza and I slightly regretted my choice. The hotel is not located very close to the airport (it is a about a 10 minute drive). It is also very difficult to find if you decide to drive there (I used a GPS and like some previous reviewers also found it difficult to find). There is a free shuttle to and from the airport but do note that it is note available for early mornings. I was going to use it for my morning flight (had then already returned the rental car by then) but it had not started its service then so I had to grab a cab for €20. Inside the hotel everything is clean but it is apparent that the hotel was built a while back. The furniture is a bit dated and it feels like the hotel has seen better days. The front desk staff were mostly helpful and reasonably service-minded (I am then comparing to what I expect in Italy and not to the level of service I would expect in the US or the UK). I was upgraded upon check-in (not sure why) but I still felt that the room was a bit cramped with furniture. The room had the same feeling that the rest of the hotel - it had probably been very nice when it was built but now everything felt out-dated. The bed was ok not more. I am usually not bothered by noise but I felt that the air-con was very loud as well as the noise from the high-way (doubt that it was proper double-glass windows). It did not prevent my from sleeping well but I could not fall asleep right away. There was a desk where it was possible to sit down and do some work. The Internet was ridiculously overpriced but it functioned well. A mini-bar was in the room and a plus for the coffee and tea-making facilities as well as a complimentary bottle of water. The bathroom was nice and all the standard toiletries where provided and an extra plus for providing mouth wash in a small travel sized bottle. Do avoid eating anything at the hotel. Bed was a king size bed which was really amazing! Service was very friendly - at the reception as well as the concierge. Service at the breakfast bar could be a bit faster, but it was ok. Breakfast menu was very good. Spa area was a bit smaller than expected. Pool was quite large. Sauna and jacuzzi were very small and location in general not too comfortable. Employees could speak a bit better English. In general: price quality ratio was fine. Some deficiencies in service areas. Definitely can be recommended.
