I needed someone to hook my new grill up to the natural gas line. I searched around and called Apache Plumbing. This was on a Friday. I made an appointment for the following Monday. However, Randal called me Saturday morning and was able to fit me in. He got to my house, discovered I didn't have all of the parts that I needed to change my grill from propane to natural gas. He went with me to Lowe's to get what was needed, came back and I was up and running with my new grill in no time. Run away from this business. They cannot be trusted and don't deserve any stars. On the head plumber's personal recommendation, I paid them to install a water softener in my home. They installed the NuvoH2O system. It cost over $1,800. It is not a water softener. It is a citrus conditioner. It did not change the quality of our water one iota. All they did was argue with me when I expressed my dissatisfaction. Don't trust this plumber. I cannot warn anyone enough about this business. I have to pay someone else to undo their work. Don't let them rip you off, like they did me. Run, don't walk away. There are plenty of other plumbing companies in San Marcos who are honest, straight forward, and who can recommend and install a water softener that will provide for what you are looking for. Last week a handyman accidentally damaged pipes and caused a leak in the bathroom. We called Apache the next morning; Sean arrived a few hours later--as promised--and repaired the pipes. He was extremely knowledgable and efficient. Before Sean left he helped us out with a dripping bathtub spout...he even called the manufacturer and got us a free replacement for a 15 year old part! It all took less than an hour. No surprises or weirdness with the bill, which was very fair for the work. An excellent experience. read more

Apache was very helpful over the phone, quickly scheduled an appointment and arrived promptly on time. The city repaved my street and tons of gravel debris made its way into my water pipes, totally messing up water pressure. They were able to clear all the lines and even take photos of the evidence so I could send it to the city. They were extremely helpful and even replaced toilet supply lines for no charge (at least they took pity on my situation!... hopefully the city does as well). I would give them zero stars if I could. Not only did they NOT service the brand new water heater that they sold us and installed ($2k+), we had to hire a different company to fix their installation. We ended up paying well over $600 for the correct parts & repairs due to the negligence of their service men. Apache also threw the old parts out into the yard and were picked up and thrown by our mower. I have REPEATEDLY tried to get them to answer my calls and have even engaged the help of the Better Business Bureau, but they won't return any of our calls. I can't help but think that the positive reviews for this company are FAKE! DO NOT CALL THIS BUSINESS!!! Planning to see them in court! read more

Not only were they on time but very accommodating to get us in their schedule. The technician that completed the job was very courteous and knowledgable. He was very efficient and assured us if the problem reoccurred that would come back out and take care of it. I am always weary of plumbers and especially companies without websites, but let me tell you...I know GOD works in awesome ways and I called two companies prior to this one and for whatever reason I was disconnected twice...I took it as a sign and just went forward with Apache. I spoke to the receptionist and she was a nice lady who answered all my questions- Are you certified and do you have insurance? How long have you been in business? How much experience does the plumber have? How long has he been working for the company? She was sweet and polite and patient :) I had two problems--a clogged toilet and running water. He fixed the issues and since my dad had already told me what needed to get fixed....I was waiting to hear it. ( My dad has arthritis so he couldn't fix it himself) $115 dollars- wow!! He worked fast. God bless him! The second problem was bigger than we thought...the sink upstairs was leaking down into my first story. We had shut down the water and he had to cut into some sheet rock and initially he thought it would take three hours, but he did it in 30 minutes. 156 for all the work. He was dripping in sweat with all the running around. I was super blessed with the house call. The only reason I got things taken care of was because my mother in law offered to pay for the services. I thought it would be an arm and a leg, but this was very affordable and I would HIGHLY recommend them! Thanks Apache, but you really need a website :) read more

5 stars for sure! Honest and friendly, they charged me a fraction of what could have been a 4 digit repair. A mainline break in the front yard. I can afford them and they worked quickly and efficiently to keep the total for the time rate down. Now all I have to worry about is what the city is going to charge me for the water lost to a main line break. :-( I turned in a leak report, but only time will tell... But I highly recommend Apache. I got lucky getting them recommended by a local AC company that was charging me $400.00 to replace my central air fan unit. read more

I love supporting local businesses and would love to be writing a positive review for Apache Plumbing. Most unfortunately, recent experiences with Apache cannot support my positive review. I have used their services many times over the past several years and have seen a steady decline in timeliness, callbacks and customer service. Apache recently installed new fixtures in a bathroom remodel and when we had to call for an adjustment on shower control it took many phone calls (10) just to get a response. Now, 3 months later, the fixture is leaking. I have made several calls to ask that someone come to repair the leak but after 6 calls, over 4 days of waiting...there is still no response. The customer service I have received from Apache is absolutely atrocious. They quickly collect payment for their services but when it comes to backing up their workmanship - no followup customer service exists. I will not use Apache or recommend them again. Well - after three plumber visits over two days and almost all new parts - the toilet is fixed. Didn't want to spend my vacation waiting for plumbers, but it is one more item off my things to do list. I think this should have been fixed the first time I called There are so many glowing reviews on here - so they are probably usually better than this, but this was not 5-star service and I think I paid too much for what they did. My parents water heater went out so I called around trying to find a plumber in the area . We needed help ASAP they were without hot water for days. When I called the phone was answered. She said they couldn't get to it that day. She called right back within ten minutes and informed me they could get it done. Great service ! They answered the phone and did it for the estimated price. Where to start.. Let preface this nightmare with Apache by stating this is 100% true. While renting a home in San Marcos I noticed several cracks in the outside brick walls. It was recommended the home get foundation repair. Foundation people did their job, came and went, however in order to maintain their warranty with the homeowner a leak test on the plumbing had to be done. Leak test came back negative, their was a phantom leak in the sewer pipe somewhere. Apache was called by the homeowner. Apache came out, did some tests, said they had isolated to the leak to the front bedroom under the floor. We scheduled them to come out in a couple of weeks so we could move everything from the room and arrange for someone to let them in while we were at work. Apache was set to start on a Monday, saying they would be done by Wednesday at the latest. Apache showed up on Monday, dug a 4 foot by 3 foot trench in the front bedroom, there was the pipe, hmm nothing leaking or cracked there. Wait a minute, you people just dug up someones floor in the house, through the concrete slab without verifing with a camera that there really was a leak there? Yes they did. Came back the next day and made the trench another 3 feet longer. I get home and go in the front bedroom and it looks like a bomb went off in there, dirt everywhere, you could have put a body in there, seriously. Still no leak. Uh oh. The wife and I are starting to get a little concerned since we have company coming that weekend. The next day Apache sends some different plumbers out, still no results, and we still have an enormous hole in the floor. Our neighbor next door had been letting them in and out during the week. It was noticed that they would lock the front door and leave and come back and yet somehow got back in the house. Hmmm. That's weird. They were leaving the front bedroom window open so they could come and go as they pleased without letting our neighbor let them in and out. Thank you Apache for securing my property when you decided to leave. It gets better. Thursday, nothing much going on except our impatience with these imbicils. We are in the demand mode at this point wanting our home back in one piece. They still cannot find the leak, we still have a humongous hole in the bedroom, and they do not seem to care at all. They tell us that on Friday, a different plumber is coming to do more tests but that he will only be there an hour or so. What? I want them done and out of the house yesterday, and now they are putting us on the back burner. They tell us they will not be back until Tuesday to do some more tests as a 3 day weekend is upon us. I call Apache's office and try to speak with the owner, demanding some answers and to get his people back over here and finish what they had started, and only get voicemail and no call backs, repeatedly. I call the homeowner who tells me they have another job to do at Garcias resteraunt and that we will have to wait. Apache left us with a broken home, and went to do a different job, without even trying to finish, since it was revealed to me that the owner had prepaid them. I'm not too smart, but this sounds like a bad business practice. How is this company still around? This is no shit. Thanks Apache. We were furious. Cancelled our guests coming in that weekend. Told the homeowner Apache will not be coming back in our house at all, all their tools with be on the front lawn. Homeowner agreed, now he was finally getting a real look into how this company operates. The hole was patched by a local handyman the next week, since no leak was ever found. This caused irreparable damage between the homeowner and my wife and I that we were asked to leave this house a couple of weeks later since our lease had run out. We left. Apache really did a doosey on that house. I hope this two bit shop has since purchased a camera before they dig up your home. Last I heard the homeowner was trying to get his money back or he was going to sue. I still would not ever have these people in my home. I cringe when I see their vans around town. If you have no other options, and all plumbing shops in the state of Texas are busy, give them a call and hope for the best. This happened in the summer of 2012 and this is a true story. read more

We are brand new tenets in a hundred year old house, here in San Marcos. The plumbing may be from 1935.....so, without the gross details, lets just say we had a huge problem...sewage in the tub, horrible smells.... With the help of the city and their amazing crew and elbow grease of my amazing man who dug up the ground, trying to locate the problem and our very kind landlord, we figured out the line to the city needed replacement. Our neighbor HIGHLY recommended Apache Plumbing. We got four estimates from four companies. Apache was the lowest bid and honestly, I don't see how he made any money at all on the job. The owner and his men were very helpful answering all my questions and they busted their tails digging around other utility lines. The inspector just left with the ok, and my house doesn't smell like dead people are under the floor boards anymore. I highly recommend supporting small businesses.
