Driving has been my biggest challenge and I'm glad I signed up for the 6-7 lessons package. Although I'm still a new driver I feel so much more confident. Andy helped me work on problem areas such as my left/right turns, steering the wheel correctly and merging. Andy was straightforward and didn't make me feel overwhelmed. Whenever I messed up he was very patient and would make me laugh and encouraged me to try again. Practicing with Andy has made me feel less afraid to drive and parallel park!!! Yayyy My experience with Gotham driving school has been excellent. Irene was super sweet she would always call me to check in on how I was doing and took care of scheduling my lessons and road test. She was super encouraging and caring . The Pre-licensing course was super useful compare to my previous driving school it helped me with road signs and how to approach situations you might come across on the road. Thank you Andy for helping me achieve one of my goals. I would recommend if you're looking for a Driving school to look in the Gotham website and signing up for Lessons in a package as they include everything you need. They provide the car, pick you up and drive you to the test.

I decided to go with Jason because his reviews are all good and it was a good choice. I emailed him before deciding on what course I wanted to take and he was quick to respond and set up a time to discuss my questions on the phone. One the day of the course we met in an empty parking lot and Jason walked me through the basics/theory behind driving a stick. Once that was over it was time for me to get in the driver's seat. We drove around the lot practicing everything starting with starting/stopping and moving on as I gained confidence. Over the course of the lesson I learned to shift, start and stop, reversing and start on a hill. I didn't get a chance to go on the streets, but I was fine with that and the only reason I didn't is because I was kept asking Jason to practice things until I really felt comfortable. Had the lesson been slightly longer I'm sure I would've been on the streets. Jason does a great job of explaining the theory behind driving stick and answering any and every question you have along way. If you want to learn stick and are looking for a great instructor don't hesitate to book your session with Jason. Also, if you just need a manual car to practice on Jason also offers great rates for that as well.

It was smooth, pristine and she had complete control of the car and awareness of the road and other drivers. She referred me to Yisrael with Golden Key Driving School. She had amazing things to say about his exemplary technique. And that she acquired her license on her first try. I took her advice and signed up for courses with Yisrael. The school was very responsive and accommodating of my schedule. Yisrael is an amazing teacher. I was so tense and nervous when I first stepped into the car, but soon I was cruising through the city with ease. He explains everything thoroughly and he really tries to understand the areas where you need work, and will aid you to perfect those areas. It was such an easy, fun and enriching experience. I feel confident behind the wheel now. And best of all, I EARNED MY LICENSE ON THE FIRST TRY!!! I was so excited, words cannot even explain the elated mood I was in. I would recommend Yisrael and Golden Key Driving School to anyone who wishes to earn their license by working with one of the most experienced teachers in the industry. -Kingsley

Incompetent and unprofessional are the two words I'd use to describe my experience with Yisrael…read moreHannah and Golden Key Driving School. Let's start from the beginning. I booked their ten-lesson package, and from day one I knew something was wrong. My first lesson consisted largely of driving around the Dyckman Marina while the instructor was on the phone handling personal conversations. Unfortunately, this became a recurring pattern throughout my lessons. A significant amount of paid lesson time was spent listening to personal phone calls instead of receiving instruction, feedback, or guidance. The overall teaching environment was also unnecessarily unpleasant at times. Instead of maintaining a calm and professional attitude during lessons, the instructor frequently made sarcastic or snide remarks that added stress rather than helping me improve as a driver. Constructive criticism is expected during driving lessons, but there's a clear difference between professional instruction and dismissive commentary. Lateness was another constant issue. In almost every lesson, I had to wait for the instructor to arrive. Most delays were around five to ten minutes, but one incident was especially ridiculous. I waited approximately 30 minutes before being told by the office that the instructor was downtown and would not return for another two hours. I was advised to go home and wait for a phone call. Instead, I returned to the office myself later and found the instructor already there. Had I not taken the initiative, I strongly suspect my lesson simply would not have happened that day. Rather than apologizing for the inconvenience, the office blamed a surprise city inspection and dismissed the issue entirely. This pattern of avoiding accountability continued throughout my experience. After finally completing the ten lessons, it was time for my road test. My appointment was scheduled for 8:45 AM, and I was instructed to arrive at the school at 8:30 AM. That already seemed cutting it close, but I trusted the school's judgment. Instead, I spent around 40 minutes sitting in a car with other students before we were rushed to the testing site late. Because the vehicle was not present before 9:00 AM, the examiners refused to let me and another student take our tests. Again, instead of apologizing, the school blamed the DMV staff and claimed the examiners were under inspection by supervisors. Whether or not that was true is irrelevant -- it was the school's responsibility to get students to the test site on time. When we returned to the office, there was still no accountability. The office staff insisted "it wasn't our fault they had an inspection." The instructor himself gave me a half-hearted wave and walked out without even acknowledging the situation professionally. To their credit, they scheduled another road test for the following week and told me to arrive at 8:00 AM for a 9:00 AM appointment. I arrived early and waited until after 8:10 AM before leaving because no escort had shown up. At that point, I decided I was done dealing with this school entirely. The level of disorganization and lack of professionalism here is honestly shocking. Before spending money with this business, I strongly recommend looking into their history and reading other reviews carefully.

He made our son's DMV appointment for the road test, picked him up at home on his test date two hours prior to the exam to practice a bit more. He showed up on time (even a few minutes early) and explained what they would be doing. He provided us with a checklist of what to bring to the road test appointment so that there would be no surprises. He called us from the DMV to tell us our son had passed and mentioned a few extra things that he should pay attention to. He even followed up afterwards with additional information he had researched. You must be extremely persistent if you want to go to this driving school. I should have tried another driving school right away, honestly.
