Worst Reuben Sandwich ever!!!

Had a taste for a corn beef sandwich today for the first time in years. Knowing AP Deli is a community staple my husband and I stopped by figured I would take it to work and enjoy it for lunch. opened it up and to my surprise it was on white bread when I called to complain he told me I asked for it that way. I haven't eaten white bread in almost 50 years. Shame on you. This is why you've lost a customer.

Regular Corned Beef

This was the driest corn beef sandwich that I've ever had in my life. Almost to the point of being inedible. It's surprising because this place is usually good. The staff were friendly though and the restaurant was clean. I guess it's a hit or miss on the food.

I have heard about this place for a long time and was looking forward to trying this place. I heard how great this place was and how it was one of the best Corned Beef Sandwiches around. There are many online comparisons of this place to Manny's. I finally went to this place and got the large Corned Beef on rye. I was some what disappointed in the sandwich. It was large but didn't have much flavor. Compared to Manny's this place has them beat on size but not flavor. So far I have never had a Corned beef sandwich better then Jason's Deli or Harrington's.

a ham sandwich cut in half

Rye & wheat bread are two different breads! I asked for Rye got wheat than was told there Rye bread was different and lighter. Straight wheat bread!

This is the 17.00 Big beef corn beef sandwich. DONT DO IT. NO MORE SANDWICH STYLE FROM THE 80s lol

save your coins. not the same sandwich from the 80s clearly. this is the 17.00 big beef. service was ok. the prices listed are different when they rang you up. be prepared.

BIG Corned Beef Sandwich Combo

Ordered from Uber Eats . So my review is about the Sandwich and how they make ,wrapped them. I ordered 3 Big combo Cornbeef sandwiches /chips and soda. The Cornbeef sandwiches were still warm and pop was icy cold. It was sealed nice and tight. The meat is fresh tender with little fat yumminess and the bread was soft. AP D Deli is best for Cornbeef sandwiches. Also the young man that delivered my food had on Mask and gloves plus on time.

Food is great even at new location. Just can't get with the attitudes from the cashiers, takes away from the entire experience

The food is not the same. The meat has a lot of fat and the ladies there are really rude. I live close and I don't go there very often.

This place used to have a lot more resturants. If your hungry and only have $10.00 , this should hit the spot.

The way they pile the meat on you wonder will you be able to take a bite. It's amazing. This is old school sandwich making. I love it.

It's located in a busy part of River North with minimal parking options but I do believe they have 1 or 2 parking spots in the parking lot they share with the motel. It gets pretty busy on the weekend so I'd recommend going early or be prepared for a line. Ordered online the night before to take to a friend's for brunch. When I arrived to pick up my order, disappointingly, I was told that part of my order wasn't available because they hadn't been set aside in the morning. They offered to replace it with a different flavor and add a free schmear, but I'll admit I was super annoyed. I ended up getting some everything bagels to make some lox sandwiches with. Unfortunately the bagels were very mediocre (a step or 2 above a store bought bagel). I like my bagels chewy and moist, but these were dry and too fluffy for my taste. And weirdly enough, they were salty yet didn't have a very strong everything bagel flavor. To be fair, Chicago is severely lacking in good bagels, so not sure if I should fault Schneider's for that, or wherever they source their bagels from. Either way, I hope they get their online ordering system straightened out.

We were quoted a time of 20 minutes out. We arrived a little early and the gal at the counter told us it would be a few minutes. She called out when ready and sat at one of the tables in the front to eat. Each sub had a decent amount of filling. While we each offered the smallest subs, we were plenty full when we left. We enjoyed our subs and now have a place to add to our list for a new quick lunch. For the store itself, they have some odds and ends but many Italian staples. The counter and deli had a steady flow of customers in and out.

As I parked this large Chevy Suburban parked in front of me. As I sat in the car & saw one person after another unloaded & head towards Potbelly. In all I counted 8 guys unloading from this Suburban. & head to Potbelly. I'm like oh hell no. That's when I saw CONTE DI SAVOIA @ 1438 W Taylor Street on the north side of Taylor Street. I decided to cross over & check out this old world Italian Deli. Conti Di Savoia is small Italian grocery store w/an Italian deli that has w/outstanding & inexpensive sandwiches. When I went in there was a line of people waiting @ the deli counter waiting to place their order. I must have looked confused because the owner directed me & told the line started on the other side towards the back of the store. What I found was an awesome of fresh handmade sandwiches for a very reasonable price. I ordered an 8" pastrami w/mozzarella cheese, shredded lettuce, tomato, red onions, mayo, & Italian oil drizzled. What I got was an awesome inexpensive sandwich loaded with/fresh ingredients. Absolutely delicious. After I got my sandwich the owner (I introduced myself (I think his name was Mike) rang up the sandwich. He said they have been there for 35 years. There's also a small dining area in the front of the store where I sat & devoured my sandwich. Like I said this is small Italian store w/a nice selection of products like meats, cheeses, pastas, wine, olive & deli items. I throughly enjoyed finding Conte Di Savoia. The pastrami sandwich was awesome w/a generous portion of pastrami & toppings for a reasonable price. I'm the type of person who who loves finding new places to eat. Most times unless I find great food & reasonable prices I won't go back but I feel like I found a real gem W/Conti Di Savoia. I WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK AGAIN.

It came as a great recommendation! We didn't have it for a while since we live the low-carb life but were thrilled to learn they do a "sub in a tub". I love their tuna salad/sub. Their bread is soft, back when I could eat it. They don't overfill it with mayo either and add some mild peppers or hot on request. I like that they don't have onions at the deli so it doesn't overpower everything else. My husband typically loves the club. They rolled a generous amount into a container and I used scissors to quickly and easily cut it. It was a perfect lunch and I have enough for another tomorrow! For $8, or $11 for a generous tuna scoop, you can't beat it. Staff is also quick and friendly at the deli, as well as checkout.
