I'm so happy they opened an Aoko Matcha in Bayside. I got a yuzu and #3 matcha gelato, and the flavors match soo well together. Just a little sad that they won't have soft serve until July

So excited that this opened in Bayside, really reminds me of Japan! They're in the soft opening right now so they don't have a lot of menu items, but I was able to try their parfait and gelato. The portions are very, very small for each scoop so I had to eat slow to savor it. They have from level 1 to 6 as well as hojicha. The hojicha was my favorite flavor as it was strong, but also creamy. I got number three as a happy medium, but I still felt it was a bit on the bitter side. For the parfait, I ordered number two and I felt that was perfect for me. The parfait was really tasty and I enjoyed all the toppings inside. It's nice that they have some seating inside so you don't have to eat outside.

I finally checked this spot out! I tried to go to the one on Bleecker St in the city, but the line was out the door (blocking the sidewalk) last summer. Of course, I was excited when they opened one here. They have a kiosk machine and a cashier, which you can order from. It gets very busy inside, but there are a lot of workers who work hard to get the orders out. I ordered a double scoop of level 3 & 5 with mochi added. Delicious! I am looking forward to my next visit and try their strawberry matcha latte.

One ridiculously small scoop of icecream

The scoop of icecream is the smallest I've ever had from any store for $6 is totally not worth it, no second time

3 scoops with lots of room at the bottom

Tasty matcha with friendly service. Can sample different levels of matcha before purchase. Matcha float was good.

I came here in single digit weather, and wow did the hot chocolate hit. The hot chocolate was super rich, to the point where it felt like drinking straight liquid chocolate. They helped us go through the flavors as well as buying various chocolates. Overall, Venchi is a great spot for amazing desserts!

He had never been to a gelato and I suggested it! (I've been to one other location) The second you walk, the place feels lavish. The storefront is pristine and gorgeously furnished. The chocolatiers/gelatieres are so warm and one walked up to us while we in line and explained the size options and options for what they will coat our cups and cones with - I think the options were dark chocolate or hazelnut. You also are able to sample any flavors before choosing! Being that I just ate, I got myself a small treat, a "baby" cup of pistachio gelato. They had the Dubai chocolate pistachio flavor as well, but I felt that one was too sweet for my liking. I was very happy with my pistachio! My sister in law enjoyed fruity gelatos and my brother a rich, dark chocolate. Every gelato comes with a chocolate, which is a nice added touch. The store was clean, the workers very hospitable and the gelato delicious and authentic! Thank you Venchi for an awesome experience, as always!

The hot chocolate is thick, like drinking warm pudding before it is set. They let you taste before you order. We've been twice for vegan gelato trying the chocolate, mango, and strawberry. We also tasted the lime basil which was delicious, but didn't seem like it would go with chocolate, and I can't turn down a good chocolate gelato. :) I'm guessing this place is a madhouse in the summer. The flavors were totally lacking in so many of them that we sampled! Even the ones we picked were very bleh compared to other gelato places. The ambiance was just alright and service was quite poor. The girl working was friendly but the guy, not so much. And both were the only ones working and it was soo busy liens were so long service was slower and no one to give samples. Had to order separately at kiosk with all the flavors prior to going up to them making it very inefficient and time consuming process unless you already know everything you want Got the classic cone 4 flavors for $10 and cone upgrade $2 for chocolate hazelnut side and the chocolate was so thin it was barely anything and same with the hazelnuts, very disappointing. Couldn't even finish the cone itself because it tasted so bad. Just cone for the picture and that's it to be honest, nothing else going for it, prefer others in the city!

We kept that in mind for when the Opera let out at 10:30 and stopped in before heading to the subway. Convenient and quick ordering through kiosks. Plenty of vegan options and customizations. Small space so fortunately it wasn't too crowded inside since it was so late. (It was still busy! Good for them!) We each ordered a dark hot chocolate with added flavor (pistachio drizzle?). My friend had whole milk and I had vegan option. It was so delicious and the perfect end to a night, great for the walk in the cool temps.

We popped in after attending an orchestra concert across the street at The Lincoln Center as we wanted a sweet treat before heading home. It was about 9:45pm on a Saturday night. There were 3 different screens for you to order on and there was a line to get to them. The ordering is pretty self explanatory - decide if you want a cup or a cone, then pick your flavors and extras. ALL cones come in a beautiful flower shape, which is definitely what the hype about this place is all about. You can choose up to 4 different flavors for your flower shaped gelato, although I ended up just picking 2: mango sorbet and strawberry sorbet. Both were delicious! After ordering we waited 20-30 minutes for our gelato to be served, but we weren't in a rush so we were okay waiting. While waiting for ours, I observed the different options that other people had ordered. If you order a SMALL Cone, your flower shape is hardly worth it. I ordered a Regular Cone, which had the beautiful flower shape as advertised. And a Large Cone is an even bigger flower, although it might melt a bit too fast if it's hot out. This place is definitely worth trying out at least once, especially if you're both an ice cream lover and love a good photo op!

Apparently this little gelato cart is seasonal and only out May through October. To me the good gelato has to have that perfect gelato texture and theirs did not disappoint. It was delicious! I had two scoops - pistachio and mokaccino (coffee and chocolate ) and my friend had a scoop of fresh strawberry and a scoop of chocolate mint on a cone. The mint had fresh sprigs of mint. So good. They also had sorbet (sorbetti) for those who can't have dairy or are vegan. (Or just love fruit sorbet!) The non-dairy options were coconut and raspberry. I definitely want to come back and try the raspberry sorbet Also, the fountain there is so beautiful, a great place to eat gelato, watch the fountain, and people watch.
