I discovered Krazy Farm Cider's 51/50 on tap July 16th, 2017 at Cantina Winepub in Aptos. As one with a gluten intolerance I'm always on the quest to find the perfect cider. Literally, I've tried ciders in the UK, Europe, Canada and the East and West Coasts. I've done cider tasting flights on the east coast and in Oregon. I'm picky about what I like and have only found a couple of ciders I truly love. This one has been added to the list of favorites. Before I left Aptos (where this cider is made) I was able to contact the owner and find a local store that sold bottles of the cider. Keep it up Noah. You nailed it with this blend. I hope you'll add a tasting room someday. When I return to the area I will look for the other blends of Krazy Farm ciders to try.

It is sharing a space with a brewery and I recommend you see both of your best worlds, but my family and I are cider heads. And we totally like the fact that they decorated for Halloween with properly placed skeletons in the room we enjoyed taking pictures with them. As you walk through the entrance, the first thing you smell is popcorn. They have a popcorn machine there and let the guests have free popcorn if they like. Everyone of my family loves popcorn. The thing I thought was really great is we could bring our dog in and they're very dog friendly. We have a nice sweet little dog. We knew there wouldn't be any problems with guests. They were tasting eight ciders that day. So we ordered a flight of eight so we could taste all their varietals on sample. I tried the wooden tooth special and the sweet tooth and strawberry and oh snap and Newtown Pippin and don't make me blush and pretty in pink and tropical burn. My personal faves were the first two and I also liked the don't make me blush. I was so impressed with the cider which I bought two bottles of their Gravenstein, which you cannot get a tasting up because of the supply left is low. I'm really looking forward to tasting those at home. Awesome all around. Now on my radar.

A friend of mine goes to these things all the time up in SJ so I agreed to join him and we had a great time. Tried different ciders over the season and actually had many that we liked. I also had a pretty long conversation with the owner about brewing cider as I've tried making my own with apples from the tree in my backyard. He turned out to be a really nice guy. So I think I was wrong in my original review of Ten Five One Cider.

The family literally hosts customers in their (very large and beautiful) backyard. Plenty of shade and places to sit. We were greeted and seated quickly despite being early for our reservation. I liked that there were many different types of ciders to pick from, so I opted for a flight. My favorites were Bada Bing (Cherry infused) and apple pie (literally tastes like pie). I also shared a cider slushy with my mom and it was delicious. I recommend following them on Instagram, since they are only open for tastings on certain weekends of each month. They are also open on some Thursdays as well.

Each time I have had the pleasure of having the owner there to explain the process and differences between their offerings and it is apparent a lot of work goes into their cider. The tasting menu usually has 4-6 different products, each distinctly different than the last. The biggest surprise for me is their brandi perra. It is similar to a port or apple brandy but made with pears. I was hesitant at first, but have purchased a bottle and taken it to a few parties and it is a hit. If youre in the market for something you probably can't find any where within 100 miles, give this place a shot. Just look for the balloons!!

They are never too sweet. The draft list includes a selection of flagship dry and flavored ciders (try the ginger and black peppercorn or the dry hopped!), a seasonal cider and cider slushie, and a selection of "hand-pressed specialities", which are also available in 750 ml bottles. My favorites are the single variety and heritage blends, which highlight the complexity of the fruits/yeasts used in the fermentation process. It's clear that the cidermakers at Blindwood have deep knowledge of apples, including unique and heritage varietals that many have never heard of. I almost always purchase a bottle to take home after sampling the selection in the taproom. The taproom is friendly and cozy, with good lighting, wifi, and friendly clientele. There is a nice variety of board games available to borrow while you sip your cider. There's also a selection of snacks, including chips, gourmet cheese/crackers, and cupcakes from Angel Cakes bakery in Oakland. We enjoy sitting at the bar and chatting with Drew, the cidermaker, or his family members/co-owners who are often helping out. Blindwood is well worth a stop if you're in SL on Fridays/weekends!
