Early this week I had my French bulldog groomed by Vanessa. I called a few days before to set up an appointment. Vanessa was very straight forward about treatments, costs, payments, and how long a grooming would take. She even went into detail about how I should take care of my pup's coat and what kind of brush I should get for him. The next day she sent a follow up photo to ensure I got the right one! Vanessa did an amazing job with my dog. Took about an hour for his grooming. He seemed very happy and smelled SO good after his grooming. My partner kept telling me how good he smelled throughout the whole day. I will definitely be reaching out to her again when my dog needs another grooming. Love that she is mobile and has great availability!

I have contacted the city in which this woman claims to be a business out of she has no business license with the city of Stockton . In addition I have contacted the Better Business Bureau as well as local authorities I am not taking this matter lightly. It is absolutely disgusting and unprofessional for this woman to continue to harass or attempt to argue with anyone who does not give her a perfect review. I legitimately asked questions and showed pictures. I think its beyond unprofessional to continually blame each and every client who give a bad review. Horrific! Please excuse any typos as I'm extremely frustrated and dissatisfied while writing this review. I trusted this woman 2 bathe and groom my pets, my fur babies WHO ARE MEMBERS OF OUR FAMILY. She did nothing short of a hack job by a con-artist thief who claimed to be a groomer. She was well over 45 minutes late to our scheduled appointment. Vanessa text me 3 minutes after our scheduled appointment to tell me she was heading in from out of town (30 minutes minimum). I gave her images of my pets, both who had 0 fleas, she claimed she found eggs on one of my pets but no live fleas. My dogs both are in my home regularly and we spray our yard as well as well as treat our dogs with flea and tick meds. My poor Pomeranian/Yorkie mix look like he got in fight or ran over with a with the lawn mower. He has laserations, did NOT get his ears cleaned. Instead of brushing him out and grooming him she haves him NEARLY BALD on top of that SHAVED HIS EARS?! He has NEVER had his ear shaved. We ALWAYS keep them long even if he has matting behind the ears from playing with our other dog in the 7 years of both dogs lives this has NEVER happened. She took advantage of knowing I wanted a "mobile groomer with good reviews" to get my babies back to looking and feeling their best. I was astonished to see and SMELL my babies upon getting them back. She did not bathe either of my dogs, after petting one of my dogs I could visibly see pet dander. Unfortunately I paid her and did not complain as #1 we did not want retaliation as she knows our home address and #2 we didnt want her to attempt to fix what she had done. My heart breaks for my pups, they stink and have some sort of aerosol chemical smell to them as if sprayed with home cleaning chemicals, I have asked numerous times for certification and or license info that she REFUSES TO PROVIDE, in addition she insists on calling me over and over when Ive made it clear that I was in a meeting and could not talk and would just like her to send me a picture with proof of Licensing. I will happily post the text messages to Yelp as well where she is Claiming to "have it on board" yet when I knocked at the door I was not allowed on, she wouldn't even open the door... stood looking at me speaking to me through the clothes glass doors. Vanessa I ask you this. Your profile claims you are a single mother and pet owner as well and I am curious... if you left your child in care at a "daycare" and they came back INJURED or hurt, dirty and wet would you be upset & continuously ask for licensing of the "said business"? If you took one of your pets to someone who literally ran shears across their body so carelessly they cut them, would you be upset???? Do not call me again, do NOT come to my home and please find a different HUSTLE or way to steal people's money. I will call the authorities if I am contacted or see u at my home which does have full video recording. The only thing you my contact me for is PROOF OF YOUR SO CALLED CERTIFICATE/LICENSE. In addition, I have reached out to the city of Stockton in regards to your claimed business license as well as the Better Business Bureau. No need to reply as it will just be wasted words there is absolutely nothing you can say to justify the condition you left my pets in. I can promise you this if medical bills result further action will be taken.

Vanessa did an excellent job grooming shampooing our large German Shepard Dog !!! She is very hard working and goes the extra mile to take care of your pet!! Her Rates are very low , she can even come to you. We will bring our pet here again soon!!

I couldn't be more grateful to have found Vanessa for my little rescue pup, after leaving enraged from Petco who charged me $37 for an "attempted grooming" (aka a bath, supposedly nail trim (which I already did) and minor cut around his neck area all done in a total after five hours) I wanted to find someone who had the patience to handle my fur baby, especially with all the changes he had been through the past two weeks after being abandoned. Vanessa was so understanding and flexible, I've found my new groomer and I could not be happier

I called on a Friday evening to schedule an appointment for my Australian Shepherd. Vanessa conveniently had availability the next day and let me choose what time and whether I dropped him off or she came to me. I chose to drop him off. The location was easy to find. We discussed the services he needed and she made sure she understood exactly where I wanted him trimmed which I appreciated. My dog gets very vocal when in a new place to the point of being annoying but Vanessa wasn't phased by it. She asked how far away I'd be so she could give me appropriate warning to pick him up. I even received a text halfway through the appointment letting me know how he was. When I picked him up he was in a great mood. I will be bringing him back to Vanessa when he's due for another trim!

But I had found out that the manager, who was always there happened to be on vacation. The week we left our dogs and whatever staff was there. Did not do what they are supposed to do to take care of my dog at the time. But in 2024, we dropped our dogs off and the manager, and another long time the staff member was there and they took excellent care of our 2 dogs as they normally had done in the past several years. Except for that one year when the manager was gone. Her and her son were great.I know the son left and went to another vet office. I feel bad because I cannot remember their names as I write this post.But the regular clientele would know who i'm talking about in this review Anyway, I'm going to miss them. I was sad to find out that the veterinarian, who owned the hotel and the vet office retired.And sold everything to the city of stockton. I hope that the staff does read this post and know that they are going to be dearly missed by us.And i'm sure many others

They gave over night for pets and we had our dog there…read more They gave him the meds he needed as far as we know. He seemed fine when when picked him up although there was no info regarding his stay, if he was ok, or a problem . I would use again if needed but it would be nice to know his status getting along at the facility

I arrived early for my dog's appointment to find that the neighborhood was rougher than expected…read more There was road construction in front of the business blocking what appeared to be the one and only spot for street parking. As I headed down the side street of auto shops and junkyards mixed in with rundown late 20th century homes I began to brood. I found a spot to park and waited a few minutes until it was closer to my appointment time. Just as I exited my car, I saw a huge, loose German Shepherd walking near the back of my car. I stood and watched as he sauntered westward down Worth Street causing the myriad of dogs along the way, chained in yards and in cages and running loose in yards, to explode in barking, growling, jumping aggression towards him. Think of the Fresh Fish scene in Shawshank redemption. The shepherd was completely unphased. I waited for him to reach California before taking my 15lb dog out of the car. We walked very quickly down the middle of the street to our own chorus of maniacal barking and rushed inside the California Cat and Dog Hospital. When the door closed behind me, I attempted a deep breath of relief but the smell of ammonia, and other unknown and unpleasant odors, began immediately burning my nostrils. My disillusionment was growing rapidly as I walked up to the front counter and gave my name an appointment time. I looked to my left and saw a bulletin board with a photo of Dr. Kim that had a quote from him saying "Every pet that comes into the clinic is my pet!" and I immediately started to feel better. After a few minutes, his son Dr. John brought us back and I explained why we were there and what we needed. I noticed immediately that he was very kind and attentive. He actually physically examined my dog and listened to her chest and back with his stethoscope. He walked us through our options and was instead of presenting us with an estimate listing every fee, he advised us the approximate cost and was willing to be flexible with blood tests and some exams that weren't absolutely necessary at the moment because he understands they can be costly. We decided to to everything he advised regardless of cost and he was able to take our pup in and take care of her. When she started to come out of anesthesia, the staff called us and we were able to get there right away to pick her up. We were very surprised at the affordable cost, even with all the of things that were done. We also asked for pain medication for her and were given a little to take home at no extra cost. We could not have been happier with the care we received at California Dog & Cat Hospital! This place is so great that it was suggested we keep it to ourselves, but there can be no gatekeeping, especially with care like this so I had to write this review. I realize it is lengthy and possibly overly descriptive, but I think it was important because if you are willing to endure the location and the smells, you will be rewarded with gentle, affordable care for your fur babies. P.S. I logged in to write this on Feb 12 and they have updated/notified yelp that they will be closed (Lunar New Year). Most businesses can't even be bothered to put in their correct regular hours on the site so it's just another reminder of the thoughtfulness of the doctors here. I am so happy we found this place.

We have been battling aggressive allergies with Henry for the last 4 years and his last vet would give the same meds that did not help him at all. Within 2 visits with family pet my baby is looking and feeling great. This office is amazing I wish i would have Made the switch along time ago. I had previously taken my little dog in to a DIFFERENT vet hospital, to treat for a big swelling of…read morehis cheek. That hospital put him under, took out foxtails which was a big part of it, and SAID they removed a molar, but did not do anything about the swelling on his cheek, and that they said it would go down now that they removed the foxtails. His cheek ended up bursting, draining, they did not properly shave his face and it ended up matting his hair with the pus and overall my little guy was miserable for much longer, with any concerns I placed through phone calls or emails being completely brushed off with no empathy. Fast forward to last weekend, and I find his cheek swollen... again, same spot, and I brought him in to FPH, even though they were understaffed at the time, I still got seen within about 20 minutes. Sabrina took my little guy back, and got all his stuff checked, and after looking over his mouth as best she could (my dog was very nervous from the last visit going so bad) the vet made me aware that the tooth that the other hospital said they removed, they did not. Although it was a bit expensive, they made sure that my dog was actually fully taken care of, Sabrina and Justine removed any teeth that he needed to, Dr. Wu actually went into his swollen cheek and found the one singular foxtail was SUPER dug in, his face has been properly shaved, he is MUCH happier now than he was after the other vet visit, both visibly and with his behavior, and I feel much more confident in his recovery than I did with the other hospital.
