first off this gym was amazing. when I went to go sign up there was just a tiny problem (not the gym's fault) but the owner was so nice and she helped me sign up. the gym itself has so many different exercise equipment, and free weights to easily get every muscle group you need to train. the gym has recently been remodeled so it looks nothing like the old pictures and much better. read more

The gym itself is fine, but the new owners are enforcing cancellation policies that are not mentioned in the signed agreement. I signed a one-year agreement in July 2020 and once that ran out, my membership went to month-to-month status. When I signed my agreement, I was told that once the membership was in month-to-month status, I could cancel at anytime. There is no mention of a 60-Day Notice for cancellation anywhere in my contract, but somehow Anytime Fitness Rincon gets to enforce that and make a third party billing company, ABC Fitness Solutions, look like the "bad guy." I've reached out numerous times to the gym owners and received sporadic responses dodging the issue and asking me to contact ABC Fitness Solutions. I called the parent company of Anytime Fitness and the owners of Anytime Fitness have been asked to reach out via phone to me and discuss my agreement. Not only have I not heard from them, I could not even obtain my contract from them. I had to get it from ABC Fitness Solutions. Poor management, poor communication, TERRIBLE customer service... If I could give zero stars I would. I travel full-time around the country and utilized this location to start my membership. Last week I contacted them via email letting them know my key fob wasn't working at other gyms. I had already called the company they use for the financials, etc, to make sure nothing was problematic on my end. Nothing was. The gym mentioned that in the email as well. So there shouldn't have been any reason, given it was past the amount of time, after initially signing up, that they only allow same gym access after-hours. After those first 30 days are up, we're supposed to be able to go to any location in the country. That isn't working so far. So I emailed again. They were quick to respond the first time within one day, but passed me off to the other company you're supposed to call. Said to check with them what to do. It made zero sense. And this time, I still haven't heard back from them in a week. The second part of this is that there have not been a single processed payment that was the same amount. All 4 times have been completely different charges. Worst gym experience of my life. Complete waste of my hard earned money from my pension, as a veteran. Avoid this place at all cost. Now I'm on to deal with my bank, reporting them, and blocking them from accessing further funding because given the stories from others regarding this specific place, so far it looks like it will be pointless to trust they will be ethical and provide a simple cancelation process and stop pull on membership payments, for quite some time. No thank you. I would rather get ahead of the issues and disconnect from a ridiculously toxic situation from a gym of all places. read more

If I could give negative stars I would. I have had a membership with Anytime fitness for over 4 years. I have loved having access to the many locations and being a part of the family. However, I have recently had the manager at the Rincon location physically assault me due to bringing a buddy in without calling her ahead of time and letting her know. Might I add, when I initially signed up I had a promotional offer that allowed me to bring a buddy with me at any time. If it's after hours there's a $5 fee. Instead, The manager, Maria Simmons, not only threaten my life, she physically choked me, called me names, then kicked me out of the gym. I then decided I no longer want any part of anytime fitness and canceled my membership. This was completely unacceptable and I am in the process of pressing charges. She not only lied when the police arrived but she deleted the footage on the cameras to hide any evidence. I will be making sure not to ever recommend someone to that gym location. I am military visiting family for the holidays, where my home of record is, and wanted to continue working out while on leave, so thought I'd sign up for a 7 day trial. Was told on the phone that I could come in and redeem my pass, but once I got there I was told because I wasn't local(with a local drivers license), and because I wasn't an actual potential member, that I would have to pay $5 every day I wanted to work out. When I stated that there are anytime Fitness's near where I am stationed where I could potentially sign up, I was told it was a different franchise. You would think a company would be willing to help a service member out. If there was a base nearby, I would most definitely utilize their gym, but unfortunately I cannot do that. I also don't believe that the small amount of equipment in this gym warrants a $5 charge for ONE workout. Granted, I drove 20 minutes to get there, so I paid the fee and worked out, but I will NOT be going back to this gym. Maybe just one franchise, but you are definitely giving Anytime Fitness as a whole a bad rep. read more
