Douglas was able to explain to me that my dog, Cheddar, was struggling with Trauma that was likely a result of abuse... but then he assured me that if I was committed and patient, I could help her be herself again, and began showing me how immediately.. a when a couple of her problems were resolved on the first visit, he had already restored my hope. He has a unique understanding of the reasons for dogs behaviors, and his lessons always got to the root of the problem. He gave me assignments and encouraged me with certitude to try things that I didn't think possible... and with his supportive instruction and advice, they soon became achievements! And once I felt like I was responsible for Cheddars daily progress, I had a much better attitude...and it's all thanks to Douglas because he gave me the tools to succeed, which boosted my confidence and convinced me I was capable of doing things that I never thought possible. I appreciate Douglas's honesty... he doesn't make promises or give false hope. He is realistic, practical, and understanding, His dedication is inspiring, and his perseverance is contagious, and his motivation is clearly that he cares deeply about dogs, and wants to help people understand how to share a mutually beneficial life with them. Just a few months later, Cheddar and I are very close, and truly enjoy each other. I rarely witness her trauma these days, and when I do, I help her recover quickly.
