Lenny is an awful manager. I expressed to him multiple times I wanted my membership to at the very least not auto renew. After 3-4 times expressing this to him I finally was able to cancel my membership. 6 months later I find out I'm still getting g charged and he tells me it's my fault because my membership was moved to a different club even tho I already cancelled with him. They didn't want to give me my money back for that whole time either even with me not using their facilities. Just go to planet fitness or some other gym in bastrop. read more

I showed up for my appointment only for Shelly to no show. I showed up on time and waited for her to show up. I waited for over 10 minutes and nothing. Not a call or text letting me know she was running late or needing to cancel my appointment. I called the main number and my calls also go unanswered. If this appointment time was truly unavailable, why even offer it online to begin with? I'd like to give Zero stars but that option is not available. When the gym was in transition of being sold the condition went downhill fast. The cleaning guy was let go and the place was filthy. Roaches were seen and the bathrooms were really bad. Dust everywhere and it affected my allergies. I asked to cancel my contract having only one month left and I was told no. So I contacted their corporate office and was given a cancellation number. Well just recently a ding was made on my credit report for an amount that exceeds the last month. I have filed complaints with Experion, BBB and the attorney general of Texas. Still waiting. If you join do not sign a contract. Okay, a year ago I would've definitely recommended this place but since about 4 months ago it's been under new ownership. Since the new owner ship the gym has been left unsanitary. The bathrooms are nasty, there's never soap in the soap dispenser, there's never paper towels available, the sauna smells like ass, the equipment is not clean and some are broken, the floor is gross. They stopped selling water too, the water machine they have is moldy. Idk man there's better places especially for what these people charge. First thing I noticed was how clean and organized the facility was. Everything you would need at a gym, it has. A great free weight section, cable weights, treadmills, large workout ares, equipment to be used for stretching, outdoor area for tire flipping, sled pushing, suna, multiple individual restrooms and much more. Had a awful experience with Manager Carey Klause! She is extremely rude and did not handle her self in a professional manner at all. Terrible terrible customer service and Ticky tack charges laced throughout their contracts, After attempting to contact her several times during quarantine about my membership, I never heard back. I then received a call from her months later, she maintained a condescending tone throughout the conversation and basically called me a liar in reference to my attempt. While then trying to resolve the issue, she laughed in my face and refused to go over and send me information regarded my account. I tried to get the owners contact information and she hung up. Had a very disturbing experience at this location yesterday and will not return. Six friends and I have been exercising there for several years, starting back recently as Covid cases are down. When we went Monday there were no paper towels to clean the machines, no AC on a warm humid morning, and several of the treadmills were inoperable. Two of us emailed the gym to make them aware and hopefully have this corrected. Today another friend approached whom we were told was the owner, and the next thing I knew was a male voice YELLING at my friend, using obscenities and name-calling. I left my treadmill then (across the gym), to be told we were just "freebies" because they get their money from our insurance, and we should just leave. I have to say, having spent my career in customer service work, I'm appalled that this "gentleman" can stay in business with this kind of behavior and attitude toward his clientele. We are now moving en masse to another gym for our exercise. read more

He called me and my friends "freebies" because our insurance pays for our membership. He demanded we leave. Todd's friend, a retired police officer, jeered us, called us crazy loons and f*****g liberals. Six of us left. This place neglects to tell you that you will be charged a $30 maintenance fee for each adult on your account! Maintenance??? Much of their equipment is old and not well maintained!! HT Fitness does a WAY better job at maintaining equipment and keeping things clean. This place only has 3 cleaning stations! So here's the promised update. And it will actually be short this time. So the gym hasn't been way too crowded the last few times we've visited. Maybe the new-years-resolution folks have finally given up. When we visited yesterday, my husband and I were the only ones on the treadmills some of the time, and I think we've only had to wait for a treadmill on one of the last five occasions that we've come to the gym. Also haven't seen people hanging out on the machines for long periods of time (sitting and talking rather than exercising, I mean) nearly as often, though yesterday we were unable to use a couple of the leg machines because some guys monopolized them (but at least they were working out while talking to each other). All in all, another star is warranted because now we are usually able to excercise as planned when we go to the gym. Maybe this will make us visit more often than once a week (we definitely need to, since being on yelp makes me hungry)! read more

I've been a member for 8 months and love this place. The owner, Todd, is friendly and knowledgeable. They offer sign-up specials on a regular basis that this make membership very affordable. The facility is clean and has a good balance of cardio and weights. They offer tanning, but I (as a fair skinned redhead) have never used that. Even during peak times, I have been able to find a cardio machine for a workout. They do have trainers and I believe you get 1-2 free consultations with a personal trainer when you sign up. The location is convenient and I certainly appreciate the 24-hour access. read more

I wish I could give this place zero stars. I had to create a Yelp profile specifically for this review because I feel so strongly about it. The gym was dirty; floors and bathroom hadn't been swept, none of the paper towel holders had been stocked. Todd, the owner, made excuses about not being able to get good help these day, etc ; instead of apologizing and making sure he had his staff clean better (or at all). Then 2 days later, I witnessed him and another 50yo "man" yell at 6 elderly women. Todd calling one of them an "idiot" loud enough for the entire gym to hear. He accused one woman of stealing a $5 gym towel, when she used it to clean a treadmill that was filthy, because all the paper towel holders were empty. His sidekick, who claimed to be a retired police officer, called them "f*cking liberals". I'm not sure how that was relevant to the conversation or why name calling was necessary. Both men proceeded to fly into a rage, ultimately kicking the women out of the gym. Two grown 50+ yo men, screaming at 6 women in their 70s on a weekday morning for no reason?!?! Sounds like you and your groupie need to lay off the performance enhancers. If this is how they treat paying customers and women in general, then I won't set foot in this dump. After I moved out of Cedar Creek, I visited a few other ATF gyms in Austin and while they were all great this gym has the best communication and to me that's better than size or equipment. If you know how to work out you will be able to utilize anything this gym has to offer. read more

After a employee unlocked the door and walked in on me while I was tanning I no longer felt comfortable visiting this gym. I went in to speak with someone about canceling my account and why. I feel that this should have been seen as a breach of contract on their part and they should've done everything in their power to be sure I wasn't a complete jerk that might find a lawyer. The man told me that it would be better if I waited until my contract ended because it costs $150 to cancel. I'm paying $55 a month so 3 months right? NOPE! After they charged me the 4th month I called and let the girl know what I had been told only to find out that I had ANOTHER 3 months to pay them. Even after the girl said she spoke with the manager, the only thing they could do for me was take tanning off for the remainder of my contract. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE! I noticed that they have been charging me $55 the last 2 months so I called again. What do you know? There's no paperwork or any notes on my account that said the tannining was taken off. Supposedly, those were to be the last charges to my account because I'm not set up to auto-renew. We'll see. Get something in writing or record all conversations with them. I am trying to get into some semblance of shape before getting recertified to scuba dive again. I have the privilege of training with Devan Laird. She is very patient and I love the way she explains the machines and what parts of the body each target. Another trainer at AF named Mike is also excellent, he possibly saved my life by informing me that I needed to check with my cardiologist before I start scuba diving again. I have a trip in a few weeks. WOW was he correct.! My cardiologist let me know I can only dive so many feet down and must lose some weight before diving. Mike and Devan sent me a diet they use to lose weight (a very healthy one). It has inspired me. and it is working. They texted me after I did a refresher course over the weekend to see how things went. These guys really do care about the members. They really want to help every client that walks through the door. The staff is super friendly, and Mark the fitness Manager will take the time to walk you through the gym before you sign up. I went to this location on Saturday 04-12-14, at 9:58. Hours listed are 9:am - 1:00pm. The doors locked, and nobody in office. I called the number on the door, which tells you to call a different number for the gym. I got no answer at either number. I call the first number back and a guy answers ( I guess was the owners cell phone). I asked him if they were open today or changed their hours, and he replied "Yes, no one is there?". He then says the girl that normally works Sat. is off today, but John should be there. He will contact him and get back to me. He calls me back an hour later, stating John is now there at the location and I can go back and see him. About 15 minutes after receiving the call I head back out to the location. When I arrive, again the doors are locked, nobody there, office closed and locked up, and no answer at either phone number. I call the owner back for now the 4th time, and tell him none is there. I explain I am at the location again, and he asks if I am at La Grange or Bastrop. He then gets an attitude with me, telling me "I explained the situation, my normal girl that works Saturday is off today". You just told me John was at the location 15 minutes ago. I vent my frustration, asking why do you have hours on the door, and your not open, a phone number that doesn't even go to that location, but tells you to call another number", and then the owner hangs up on me. Maybe as a business owner you should start off by apologizing, and then maybe offer to find out what going on, rather than make the customers fault for showing up during your posted business hours, not once but twice, and calling the number posted on the door (owner cell phone) This business owner must own the La Grange Location also. I would highly recommend Anytime fitness in Bastrop to anyone. They have amazing staff and an amazing facility. The classes they offer are excellent and fun especially with the high energy instructors. I would suggest going and looking around you wont be disappointed! read more

I am a huge fan of the Anytime Fitness franchise and have been to locations around the country. This location is by far the worst I have been to. It's cramped and hot as hell. They have their thermostat set several degrees higher than any other location. They even have their ceiling fans shut off occasionally, even in the heat of the summer. I have never seen ceiling fans shut off at any other AF location. The T.V.s on the cardio machines do not have cable. On a regular basis, you can't find paper towels. But they will try to sell you a $1 Wal-Mart Towel for $5 to wipe of sweat. The owner likes to bark at people to re-rack weights they weren't even using. The showers are gross and full of mold and soap scum. And there is only one restroom each for men and women, so you typically have to wait to use it. You're honestly better off driving to a gym in Austin.... read more
