Happy Tails Dog Sitting - Preston & Lucy

    Happy Tails Dog Sitting

    (47 reviews)

    Far Northwest

I've been meaning to post a glowing review for Happy Tails Dog Sitting on Yelp for quite some time…read more Samantha and Norm are the BEST. She treats your dog as if he was her own and sends you daily updates (via email or text) with pictures, reassuring you that your dog is in great hands and doing well. Most recently, my dog Prince stayed with her for a week - the longest he's been away from home - and his birthday fell during that stay. She baked him the most adorable doggie cake for me to take home to celebrate when I got back, and also got him a Prince crown cookie with his name on it and sent me pics of him in a party hat! He also got a solo walk to PetSmart with Norm to pick his own toy, and an egg for breakfast - one of his favorite foods to eat! I am always blown away by how caring and loving they are and it makes me feel so much better if and when I have to travel, knowing that Prince is in good hands! I adopted him when he was 4 years old, and he had been owner surrendered at a shelter so the thought of boarding him at a kennel just made me so upset. I found her on Yelp and Prince has stayed with her 3 times so far, and I can't say enough great things about Samantha and Norm. 100% recommend them to anyone who wants a home away from home for their dog while they're away. She even checks in periodically, especially right after the stay, to check in on my pup and make sure he's doing well! And the first few visits, she even provided a wonderful take home bag with toys and homemade treats for Prince. So incredibly sweet and well priced. And much better than the options I've seen on DogVacay, which can be $50-75/night for minimal supervision! I'll be back the next time I go out of town!

I really wanted to give Happy Tails a chance, but the complete lack of urgency and poor…read morecommunication made that impossible. I've been trying to plan for a week-long work trip at the beginning of May, followed some time in Europe, and needed to secure boarding. Over three days, I submitted multiple intake forms (in case the first didn't go through), sent texts, and called. There was no follow-up, no acknowledgment. Nothing. The only response I received was a single text saying they weren't accepting new boarders until May 1 and to fill out a request form...which I had already done multiple times. If you're too busy to take on new clients, that's completely understandable. But ignoring repeated outreach and sending a generic, unhelpful response isn't. Communication matters, especially when people are trying to make plans with real deadlines. They may be great with dogs, but based on this experience, I wouldn't rely on them if you expect professionalism or responsiveness.

This is a long and overdue recommended review. I needed long term boarding:…read more 1) Amanda and Jenny had inboxed me once before when they opened their business. They offered me a great deal to board all three dogs and cat. I had ignored them because I was skeptical of where I sent my dogs and cat to. The person that used to board for me, ended up passing away. 2) Amanda and Jenny promised me that they would send me daily photos. But instead, I got the point where I was begging. 3) Amanda and Jenny lied to me. Prior to our agreement, they agreed if I sent them extra funding, they would take care of the vetting. When I started to question where their records were, they could never provide them. She provided me a disconnected vet office and/or vet office that had no memory of them or the Blan's as a paying customer based in Arlington. 4) I kept asking the owners for the vet records. I ended up getting false records from them (i.e. they mistyped the word "breeder" on the paperwork. They attempted to make it right by offering one month free. But, you put my dogs life at risk? 5) After begging, I sent my partner to go check out the dogs and cats. They were fine but had a slight smell. 6) I pick up Parker first. He was severely matted and smelled of pee. I was just happy to see him so I ended up checking him and I into an hotel until I could get him to the groomers the next morning. 7) Most businesses during COVID went through a hard time financially. They lost the boarding facility. I should have saw this as a red flag but didn't want to use this against them. 8 )Amanda is now stating she isn't getting my payments. We all know this can't be true because I was paying through CashApp and PayPal. She tells me she is no longer doing business with Jenny due to health reasons (which isn't my fault or issue that I was not told in advance). I've sent them screenshots. 9) The dog sitter claimed that the dog and cat food was costing them $300 per month but could never produce any receipts. All the owner would say, "you should know when your animals need food and grooming". How can I know this if you aren't even sending regular updates and photos? Each time I commented on her post, she would delete it or ignore me (kids sick, internet down, I'm not going to chase after your dogs to send you a photo (but yet you can't record them?) 10) Bentley has a lump on his face that she did not mention at the time of pick up. She claims Penny is not potty trained and revealed to me that she was peeing in the crate. Why wait almost a year to let me know my dog was having behavioral issues? Don't be like me and be ignorant. I ignored the reviews that were left by previous clients because I was in denial. I decided to reach out to the individuals to grasp a better understanding of the situation and I truly believe they were telling the truth. I was so turned on by believing I was getting a "good deal" but instead, I was being bamboozled. Whenever I would call the owners out in their lies, she would argue with me. She claims she emails and text me, but I know that is a lie. I check my email on the hour and it comes to my cell phone. I ended up checking out the dogs early but think twice before thinking of boarding them. I've confirmed my email on file with her various times. You've been warned. Oh, she has the nerve to say, "I don't want hard feelings".

Do not board your dog here. Our dog was boarded at this…read morefacility from June 11th - July 2nd. Our original reservation was for only 2 weeks, but we had to extend our stay an additional week due to home repairs. Upon drop-off, our dog was healthy and weighed 72lbs. Her last visit to the vet was two days prior to arriving at the facility, therefore we had a record of her current condition prior to her stay. Upon pick up, our dog weighed 60lbs and was extremely sick. She wasn't eating, barely drinking, and was very lethargic. It wasn't until June 29th that we were contacted by the facility inquiring about whether our dog had allergies and were informed about gunky eyes and her lack of eating. This was 3 DAYS BEFORE OUR SCHEDULED PICK-UP DATE of July 2nd!! What was happening from June 11th - July 1st?!! Our dog clearly had been losing weight prior to the initial text to us. The facility was grossly negligent in the care of our dog and may have even caused her to die if we did not pick her up when we did. So far the owner has been unable to tell us what happened while she was there, how much she was eating, when did she first notice her declining condition, why did she take so long to inform us, etc.? We had a right to know what happened to our dog. The owner has promised to reimburse us via her insurance company but when we have asked for claim information she has been unable or unwilling to provide that information to us. As of the date of this post, we have not been reimbursed. She had plenty of time to make amends before this post. We provided copies of our medical bills for our dog's ER visits and subsequent vet visits. If it wasn't for the owner's negligence in the care of our dog, then we would have not incurred these bills. We already elevated the issue to Small Claims court and won judgment for the amount of $2,500 with interest accruing which the owner has yet to pay. Do not board your dog here

I finally was able to relax and enjoy a trip without worrying. Thanks Top Dog and Natalie for taking such good of my two goof balls! Update to review: I have emailed the owner over 3 times and…read moreshe has not responded. They clearly don't really care about anyone's experience. Never go to this location. My dog was injured at this location and I was never notified. I picked her up and she had a huge hole on her side that was infected. The front desk said she was bit and manager said it was due to play. I brought her to the vet and it was infected and needed stitches but due to Camp Bow Wow (manager Lisa) failing to provide proper care, it was too late. The vet said either a dog dug it's nail in it or more likely was stabbed by a fence not properly secured. Camp Bow Wow failed to provide medical attention to my dog. The manager is extremely rude and gaslights. On the phone she told me she'd pay for my medical expense and review video with me when I went on site. When I went on-site, she said the opposite and acted like I was lying. She changed the story to there is now no footage when she told me she investigated it and part of the process is having footage. She even tried to blame the new front desk girl for her lack of providing proper training. All around terrible experience. I asked her for the owners contact information and she refused to give it to me and she said it's up to the owner to contact me. Lisa is terrible and so is this location. I feel bad for the employees and worry about all pets safety here.
