Absolutely would not recommend for catering…read more The biggest issue I had with city picnics was that ten of our vegetarian sandwiches had ham in them. Not only that, but when I called staff the next day that our office was open (which was delayed by a weekend and a snow day), they raised their voices at me and explained how I was wrong and how it is impossible for them to have meat in their veggie sandwiches. Well obviously not since that's what we had.. and without a doubt this was the most unprofessional experience I have ever had with any business. If you follow my reviews, you know I am a fair person who has only once ever given a business a one star review. I don't do this lightly because I know that my review can have an impact on a business. But I've been in event planning for several years and have never had a worse experience than with City Picnics. We had a few communication hiccups, but nothing I haven't experienced before - catering is a hectic business and delivery to the Capitol Campus can complicate things even more. Completely understandable and not a big deal. They offered basic sandwiches with chips got a great price, and we were excited about not having to give an arm and a leg to provide lunch for our group. The biggest issue I had was, again, that ten of our vegetarian sandwiches had ham in them and instead of owning up to their mistake and apologizing (or at least lying about being sorry..) they argued with me, raised their voices, talked over me, and were extremely rude. When making sandwiches for upwards of 130 people, mistakes can happen. We're all human. I tried to explain that yes, it did happen, it's a pretty big deal that they should know happened, and that they should look into HOW it happened so that no other groups need to go through what we did with frustrated guests. I'm not sure why they think someone would lie about this for ten sandwiches.. but maybe they didn't hear me since they were pretty busy talking over me. I was looking for an apology and "we apologize" or "we're so sorry that happened" wasn't said one time. Instead they insisted on arguing with me repeatedly for a mistake they say is impossible but clearly happened - there were 100 witnesses at lunch. I wasn't asking for a comp of those sandwiches but after that argue fest and their unprofessional handling of my order I jumped to accept when they offered it for the 10 mislabeled ones. They won't be receiving my support again, and I'll be sure to pass along the message to colleagues who do large events on the capitol campus annually. Save yourself the trouble and spend a few extra dollars per person for professional service elsewhere.

They were incredibly efficient - everything was set up and ready to go at 1:00 pm, just as we had requested. We got the whole crowd through the line promptly. The food was excellent. True, it would be hard to screw up burgers, hot dogs and chicken on the grill, but the real test was the potato salad, which was wonderful. Everything was fresh, tasty, and clean. They stuck around and helped us clean up after we ate. The price was more than fair, a great value. The remarkable thing is that this was a crowd of crabby old people who complain about everything. But we had no negative comments about the food or service. Thanks to Holly and her co-worker (whose name I didn't get, unfortunately) for a really nice meal.

With a large number of guests I had plenty to do and decided on having a catering business handle the dinner. I made an exceptional decision when I met with Sugar from Sugars Catering. She came up with an incredible dinner plan to include pre dinner snacks and a dessert. Well, as it turned out, it was an amazing dinner and the guests enjoyed a very special dinner that evening. Sugar is a highly capable caterer with natural insights as to what might work best for our occasion. She came with three young men that handled the dinner like pros, supporting our guests with sweet wonderful personalities and they maintained our kitchen like it was their own. From the moment they arrived until they left, they kept the kitchen exceptionally neat and kept our guests very happy. In addition, Sugar provided a great tent, glass wear along with all of the disposable table wear for the dinner. It all looked very classy and made cleanup a breeze. I would highly recommend Sugars Catering to anyone that would like to enjoy a quality dinner at a good price and with Sugar and her staff as a perfect addition to any event you would like to have catered.

I can not say enough about Anglea's Catering. We were married on 09/18/2021. We used Anglea's. The number one thing that caught my eye about Anglea's is their pricing. Anglea's you get quality for a much lower price then most caterer's charge. They don't raise the prices just because they can. John & Jon are the two we worked with. Their personalities are FANTASTIC. So funny & trustworthy. They showed up early and set everything up as quickly as they could. They happened to show right as our ceremony was going to start, so they set up while they could, then respectfully stopped once the ceremony was about to begin. They held off on setting up until it was okay to do so. They got through our 100ish guests quickly, and promptly. All while maintaining conversation and keeping smiles on their faces. The food was fantastic & everyone LOVED the bacon macaroni. It was gone. None left. With that being said though, they make enough food to feed your guests plus some. Most people went through for seconds, that is why the macaroni was gone. AMAZING SERVICE! Thank you so much Anglea's catering. You made my day that much more fantastic.

For nearly $4000 the cold sandwiches and meager salads sans the promised fruit did not taste good, nor were they presented in an attractive way. In retrospect could have done better with Panera. Also, though additional money was sent for their contracting to set out tables and chairs (Pagoda House--Pt. Defiance)--those who came to serve knew nothing about that arrangement. The wedding party ended up setting out all of the tables and chairs though it had been prepaid for to Jonz Catering. One funny thing--the owner of Jonz Catering said that food should not be taken out by guests. Frankly few wanted to, so that was not a problem. Though polite, many guests complained to others in our wedding party about the poor quality of food. The only good thing about the experience with Jonz Catering were the two women servers who stayed (the owner or woman I made arrangements with left quickly). The two servers were polite and graciously cut our wedding cake when the baker left. I would warn not to use Jonz Catering. I did not have a good experience. I have been embarrassed about the quality of served food and it was definitely a disappointment of our important day.
