We thought bringing a foreign car to the rugged north - with no dealership in sight - was a dicey decision, but the folks at Ideal have taken care of everything that our precious VW Beetle needs. I feel that we are treated very well and we receive expert care here. As a woman, I'm giving extra kudos for the Ideal staff, because they make me feel heard and respected. I am an old school motor head, having wrenched on cars with Dad decades ago. Sadly, so many shops and dealerships have acted as if I didn't know a dipstick from a torque wrench. The folks at Ideal put me at ease right away and make me feel very confident with their estimates and opinions. While I never hope to have car trouble, I hope that I can always limp to Ideal to get things fixed!!

My review here is thanks for understanding and patience that Andrew had with me. He had a very full plate already, but he helped me work through my issues, which greatly reduced my anxiety about the software problem. He tested my Jeep which gave me the confidence to take a long drive back home. I was worried I'd be nickel-n-dimed but nothing of that sort happened. Thank you.

Literally…read moreevery place I've EVER been to I've felt as though the shop didn't value me as a customer EXCEPT THIS PLACE. Service was INCREDIBLE. I was nervous taking my 1978 truck anywhere, especially since it was running pretty bad. I had no clue what was wrong and after I ran it bone dry on gas (yes, i know) it wouldn't start. Shout out to marquette detailing as they towed it to south side's shop. I got a call the SAME DAY saying they looked at it and it just needed A LOT of tune ups. IT WAS READY LATER THAT DAY. Literally where else?!?! I know stuff like this depends on the issue, part availability etc but holy cow was I excited. I attached a picture of my invoice for anyone who is curious! The total was $656.88 Although obviously expensive and hurt my wallet, as soon as I started my truck, shifted into drive, and stepped on the gas, I knew they fixed the issues. My truck struggled going up hills (hard to drive in MQT) but now it runs SO SMOOTH. They also have an after hours pick up spot for your keys and it was very convenient, as I worked late that day. From the moment I stepped on the gas I knew they fixed it. A special thank you to Jerry Spruitenburg (service advisor) for making me feel like a valued customer and treating me so kindly, as well as the best tech around, M Codd (sorry I don't know your first name), for using your mechanical magic on my old Ford! It literally feels like a brand new truck!!! South side was truly the best place I've ever been. THANK YOU

Bears couldn't get her in so she went to another repair shop who told her that some parts on her front end needed replacement. She returned to Bears who told her that they hadn't replaced those parts but could for about $400. She has her receipt from the first repair which listed that bears had replaced the parts in question. The front receptionist told her that for $100 they would replace the parts. An hour later she drove home and had the same issue again. She went back to Bears and they told her that she needed a new sway bar $700. She took it back to the other repair shop and they said that the sway bar was fine. It was just that the replacement parts had not been tightened appropriately. This other repair shop tightened the parts for free. Bears repairs lied to my young daughter several times and tried to scam her. I would highly recommend that you do NOT trust Bears Repairs.
