I am posting this review months later because I only discovered the full extent of what happened while clearing out my blocked voicemail folder.
I acknowledge that I forgot about my 9:00 a.m. Saturday appointment. It simply slipped my mind. Missed appointments occur in healthcare, and professional practices should have reasonable procedures for addressing them. What happened here was neither reasonable nor professional.
Between 9:11 and 9:28 a.m., I received exactly 11 calls from this office. The calls continued back-to-back even though I was clearly unavailable and not answering. They became so excessive that I blocked the number. At the time, I believed they had called only about three times. I later discovered the full series of calls and voicemail entries, many lasting only three or four seconds.
Dr. Antonio personally left one of the voicemails at 9:20 a.m. In it, she stated that I was not showing up and said, "I don't know why you are not aware of your appointment." I found her wording and tone condescending, rude, and entirely inappropriate. A different person from the office then left another voicemail at 9:28 a.m., demonstrating that the calls continued even after Dr. Antonio had already left a complete message.
One courteous voicemail asking me to return the call would have been sufficient. Because multiple people from the office--including Dr. Antonio herself--participated in this repeated-contact pattern, this was clearly not an isolated front-desk mistake. The disrespect and lack of professionalism extended from the administrative staff to the doctor.
As a healthcare provider who works with staff responsible for patient scheduling, I would never tolerate a patient being contacted this way. One missed appointment does not justify 11 calls in 17 minutes. I provided my phone number for the legitimate purpose of scheduling an appointment as a prospective patient--not so that multiple people could repeatedly call me in a manner that felt punitive and harassing.
This conduct was absolutely unacceptable, and I intend to report my experience to the Better Business Bureau. In retrospect, I am grateful that I missed the appointment and took my business elsewhere. Based on the way I was treated before I even became an established patient, I would never return to or recommend this practice. read more
