Once the order was placed, we received a phone call from an employee of Antidote to verify the notes on the order. She was super friendly, and very accommodating! so after reading yelp reviews and having an urge for a late night sandwich @ 10:45 pm, (15 mins before they close) I had enough courage to check this place out. Being a new customer, I was expecting a warm welcome, that didn't happen. The lady who makes sandwiches seemed like she was either too drunk or just not happy to be there. I figured because the store was about to close, she wasn't too happy to prepare an order for a new customer, OH WELL! :D I gave her my order, which was the 'pastrami swiss sandwich with jalapenos and without tomatoes,' and she responded in an unenthusiastic way, "pay up front." And so I did. The cashier who I thought was the owner was a lot more friendlier than her. I asked him a couple of questions about the store and he was happy to answer all my questions. After I had purchased my sandwich, I went to Crazy Harry's Bar (great bar!) to get a lil' tipsy before I ate my sandwich. Once I got home, I popped the bad boy (sandwich) in my toaster oven and devoured the S.O.B. in less than 6 minutes. They have some great sandwiches here. I started off with a rocky start going to this place but they make up for it by creating some amazing hollowed out sandwiches. I don't recommend sitting in unless you have no choice because its a liquor/ convenience store first and a hole in the wall sandwich shop next. Be Leary of this place, orders usually have something wrong and you will be treated very poorly. **9/3 called them on 9/1 asking about my refund. My favorite Sub/Sandwich place I know of in the valley. I would have never known it was here since its kinda hidden in a liquor store. I recommend this place and the Chicken Parmesean sub w/ bacon and avocado is the bestest. We get it without bell peppers and onions. Fast and Friendly service w/ awesome food and great prices. I read in other comments they deliver as well which is a plus but we've never had to since he lives close. Only CON: We've gotten a couple subs where the avocado is HARD. The sandwiches are really great. I like the egg salad a lot because it is just egg and mayo. Not like the other places that put pickle relish or mustard or chopped celery in it. I suppose if you like mustard you can ask them to put it on the sandwich. I also like the 4 cheese sandwich. A nice, simple change of pace. The Italian Cold Cut another one I like. The cookies are really good and arrive hot right out of the oven, a little pricey but saves me the hassle of buying premade cookie dough and cooking them myself (or I can get packaged cookies but they are not the same). I have had some mix ups on my orders in the past but they either corrected them by offering to send out the correct item or offered a credit. No such thing as a restaurant that gets 100% of the orders correct 100% of the time but what makes a restaurant stand out is how they fix the problems or error. Many places try to blame the customer for the problem but this place doesn't. The bread here is crusty and a little chewy, so if you like really soft bread they don't have it unless you get your sandwich on a croissant (they are usually pretty soft). They also have bagels but I am not sure if they are Calif style (soft, dense, and chewy) or NY style (with the crunchy outer layer and soft inner) since I am not big on bagel sandwiches.. Guess you will have to call and ask. One person said they felt gouged when they ordered a bottle of booze. Well, what ever they charged it has to be cheaper than a DUI or leaving your guests alone while you make a booze run (stuff gets broken or stuff walks away when you are gone). You are paying for convenience and no minimum. The only liquor store I know that delivers is in Hollywood and they do have a minimum of like $40+ deliver and tip. Who else will deliver a sub and a beer? They also have ping pong balls LOL. read more

First off, prices are fantastic for liquor, groceries, etc. This place is also open until eleven pm and delivers with no minimum order charge. They have a fantastic website that is great for using to decide what to have delivered. Now, ALL OF THAT ASIDE, this place makes the most delicious submarine sandwiches I have ever had in my life. I highly recommend the italian, the BLT, and their Vegetarian- the best I've ever had. They bake their bread hot and fresh, and if you need to, you can purchase a loaf and take it home with you. First of all, I have to say that staff is very friendly and it's very convenient to have a sandwich deli deliver plus you have their liquor store items you can also order. I can't say enough about their cold cut sandwiches because that's what i keep returning for. Their pastrami also i've had and is good (but please note when they ask with everything they mean like a usual sandwich with lettuce, tomatoes and all; not your original way of making pastrami but it's really good.) I'd have to say the egg sandwich could be a little easier on the mayo as it's kinda too wet and that's not how my mom made it but to each their own. I'd pass on getting that again. Their soups: My complaint here is big. Not about the taste because OMG their chicken noodle is sooo good. The price however and size of said soup, ridiculous. How much does it really cost to make chicken noodle soup? The cup size is $2.99 and i doubt i even got 4 spoonfuls the time i ordered that. I was very upset. More upset because it was so good for so little and so much money. Today my coworker is under the weather so she can't eat much of anything and we decided to give their soup but this time a bowl size, a try. Now THAT's what i call a cup. And for $4.99 we will never be ordering soups from here again. The second time we ordered delivery from here: 2 sandwiches, Firestone DBA, and a bag of chips, it was around $30 with delivery.
