Tucked away inside a little liquor store/mini-mart near Zig's is a counter that makes sandwiches. They taste fresh, and they bake some of their own bread, and all the ingredients seem fresh. They also have baklava. There is a very very humble place to sit and eat in the back of the store, or you can get 'em to go. We like to call in the order ten minutes in advance. Omg!! I am so glad that I've found this place. It's like Pink Dot for the valley. I wanted some ice cream, but I didn't feel like going out in this hot ass valley weather. So, I did the next best thing. I went online and searched for a place that delivered ice cream and that's when they popped up. I was super excited. Dear lord you guys don't understand how amazing this place is. Their ingredients are so fresh. I honestly don't know what makes their sandwiches so amazing, but I'm going to guess it's their bread, mayo, mustard, and pretty much everything. Their desserts are great too. Today I just shared a canoli and slice of cheesecake with my girlfriend, both were awesome. I've had their awesome chocolate cake and delicious Napoleon, but I've never had their coffee. I ordered my food on a Wednesday at 9:45 pm and it was delivered at 11:55. I doubt there was a dinner rush that late at night, so I'm knocking the review down a star. As a busy single mom who didn't stop to eat before putting the kids to bed, I'm super grateful for the delivery service. I still tipped the driver (because who the hell really WANTS to work until 11pm?!) but it still took longer than I thought it would, only being right down the street. I ordered the Provençal sandwich, Brie, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, onions, and mayo on a fresh French baguette. Simple cheese sandwich, you say? Oh no. Don't underestimate this sandwich. This, is a French dream. All that was missing was a glass of red wine and some Edith Piaf playing in the background. Having waited so long for delivery, I gobbled down half of the sandwich without coming up for air. (Foodie rule #1- savor your food -Unless you're hungry or forced to eat fast food. But, I managed to save half of my sandwich for lunch the next day and it was still incredible. So, it's been leftovers-approved. I was pricing out the ingredients, and u could probably make the same sandwich for the same price, but who wants to clean up that mess? I once ordered the turkey/avocado sandwich late at night, lots of mayo which was great when youre drunk and not caring about calories. Found myself stuck in the office abd unable to get lunch. .... on Easter. Firstt thing I do is check yelp and sure enough I find somewhere local that is open and delivers. So I called and asked what I shOuld get. Bammm options...lots of options. I went with the avocado club. "Great choice" Less than 20 minutes later. ... on Easter. ..I had my sandwich and soda from the store next door delivered. I never give 5 stars unless I truly mean it, but Antidote is one of the best finds ever. Their sandwiches are BOMB delicious and it blows my mind that I can order them along with milk and eggs (and potentially a bottle of vino) delivered right to my door. I mean, this place is genius, and just SO so good. I've never ordered anything from here that wasn't yummy. They're a little bit of a ways from my place in Sherman Oaks, so I was (pleasantly) surprised that they have a nice wide delivery range and no minimum. I REALLY hope that doesn't change because my guy and I have gotten used to getting delivery from Antidote almost every weekend or so. Antidote, we love you! Don't change a thing! I LOVE ANTIDOTE!! Ive been going/using antidote for 4 years now and they NEVER disappoint. They are a liquor/deli that delivers around Reseda. You can order anything from a cobb salad to a 12 pack of beer! (Best thing to do is go visit the store so you can see your options) . Their staff is friendly and courteous, and their food is SO DELISH. Ive had many of the items on their menu, and I cant say I've had anything that I don't like! Another perk is they close at 11PM! Chose this place because it was rather late, close, they do delivery, and the menu looks decent. Ordered their signature Avocado Club. It was a good sandwich and it was at my house in ~30 mins. I've lived across the street from this place for YEARS, and I just found out about the deli section. I ordered 3 sandwiches and they were great. The baguettes were crispy, the ingredients were fresh, and they were tasty. I ordered through a delivery app and the deli called me directly apologizing that they were sold out of an item on the order, to avoid "surprises" they offered replacement options of items they did have. Don't judge a book by its cover. The place may not look very nice when you drive by or once you go inside, its a deli and convenient store in one. What we had: Italian Sandwich (5/5) Wow this was awesome. The Italian Meats and Hot Stuff goes so well with the French Baguette. There was so much meat and everything danced in my mouth like a choreographed ballet. I still long for this sandwich. Hot Pastrami Melt Sandwich (3/5) This sandwich was just so-so. I ordered take out and delivery was very quick even during the lunch hour. I ordered the Italian cold cuts with pepperoncini, Snapple Tea and New York cheesecake. The sandwich was described as:Pile of Bologna, Salami and Spicy Capicolla with Swiss Cheese, Mayo, Mustard, Lettuce, Tomato, Onions, Bell Peppers and Italian dressing on a French Baguette. A really big sandwich! The whole French baguette is used for the sandwich, definitely two meals! New York cheesecake was also quite good. I'm not a big sandwich person, but these guys really know their stuff when it comes to making sandwiches. I normally get the avocado club on a croissant. It's so delicious, I could eat 2. I've also had most of their vegetarian sandwiches, like the classic tuna, vegetarian deluxe, and mom's egg salad sandwich. My husband usually orders the turkey feast or the Italian coldcut. I bookmarked this place a while back and completely forgot about it, but when I was craving a sandwich I looked back at my bookmarks and decided to give it a shot. My friend was making a food run so I called in for pick up and ordered 2 Avocado Clubs on whole wheat baguettes. I ordered mine with light mayo and no onions, my friend kept it original. I was pleasantly surprised when my friend came back with the food and I noticed the sandwiches were packaged really nicely in individual plastic bags and had a printed receipt taped on there specifying any changes. My sandwich specifically stated light mayo and no onions. I really love that because when you order multiple sandwiches and they do not get labeled you have to go through each sandwich to figure out which is which. The sandwich itself was DELICIOUS!!! It was pretty big and packed with roasted turkey, avocado, pickles, tomatoes, and lettuce. The mayo and mustard in there were perfect. I actually only ate half and ate the other half the next day (it was still bomb). The prices are great considering the quality and quantity of the food. I definitely recommend this spot and will be ordering again! read more
