Yum! I went in here…read morethis evening for dinner with my Mum & Dad. It was quite busy when we went inside as there were some first communions today, alot of people were out so the place was buzzing. We said to the lady that greeted us that we didn't have a reservation but she said that was ok and showed us to our table. The layout is very nice, lovely funky bar as you walk in the door, then long dining area, and at the end there is an open kitchen so you can see the food being prepared which is always nice. Dim lighting with little blue fairly lights on the trees give nice vibe to the place. On the menu there is a selection of starters, salads, all about 5 euro, then you can get pizza or pasta, these are all in 10 euro bracket, steak and fish dishes are around 20 euro, chicken dishes around 15 euro. There is a wide variety of food to choose from. I opted for the penne con pollo, which was a lovely pasta strips dish served in a creamy sauce with mushrooms and diced chicken through the dish. Please see attached photo. We were given bread and water while we were waiting, we didn't have to wait that long, maybe 10-15 minutes, then the meal arrived, the waitier apologised for the delay, which I didn't even notice, just seemed right about of time to wait for a meal! I was given a good portion of pasta and the waitress asked did I want any parmesan, and sprinkled a delicious helping over the pasta. I was full from the dish, didn't have a desert afterwards. I had a cappuccino which was delicious and plentiful size! Very friendly staff, very efficient, great service, delicious food! Highly Recommended!

Italian Connection was a great place for us to go to while staying in Kilkenny. We walked about a…read moremile from our hotel, which was light and easy to navigate to. The restaurant itself has a fancy feel right what you walk in, but the menu doesn't feel too fancy in terms of options, and I don't mean that a bad way! Dim lighting, and an elegant feel to the place. They have a bar, but it's quite small. They did ask us if we had a reservation when we walked in, so maybe plan to make one if you intend on going! We got two salads and a pizza. The pizza reminded us of Punch Pizza, a restaurant back in the states. They were great, and honestly like a sense of comfort food. It all came out so fast, I want to say 10 minutes or less. After dinner, we got the Apple Tart and Tiramisu. I'd order the Tiramisu in a heartbeat! So summer and delicious - definitely get that if you have room! Service was great too. When you're done, you stand up and pay by the bar. That's something we've had to adjust to while over here - to not wait for the bill at the table. Overall, 4 out of 5 stars!

Was visiting my dad in Enniscorthy and he brought us to a relatively new Italian right by the…read moreriver. I'm not one for Italian food in Ireland as I find it pretty boring and often caters to the carbonara/lasagna eaters and not like the food you get in Florence or the like. That was not he case here. Firstly, the starters. There were three of us. Two of us had soup, each one was different and both was lovely. The other person had a wonderful Sicilian chowder. This was a new one for me. Chowder is just creamy fish soup in Ireland but this was a tomato based soup with large chunks of fish along with whole shellfish and a massive langoustine (Dublin bay prawn). That person had been to Sicily and had this dish and she said it was 100% authentic. Two of us had a Monkfish special and it was cooked to perfection. There was a tagliatelle pasta dish also with Italian sausage. It was very tasty. It appeared to be good value with main courses from €17 to €25. We shared a bottle of the house wine which was surprisingly good. I didn't notice until too late that they had a few Italian craft beers that I had never seen before. They were from Birrificio Montegioco and one was called Draco, an 11% barleywine and the other was Rurale, a 5% pale ale. The waitress brought them over for me to inspect when paying the bill so I would be prepared for the next time I was in. I can easy say that this was the best and most authentic Italian food I have had in Ireland and I will be back the next time I'm in Enniscorthy.

This place is wonderful. The food is as good as food I have eaten in Italy, the staff are polite…read moreand don't overwhelm you but always seem to appear right when you need them. Loads of options on the menu and they are always willing to make adjustments for the picky eaters among us. Nice wine selection too. Interior is nice and cosy, book ahead though for groups larger than six and most tables are for two or four.

I had two pizzas at this excellent establishment, over two days. One was hands-down fabulous…read more The other also remarkable. First visit: Pizza Alla Diavola an absolute gem. Luscious tomato sauce accented by meaty tang & spice from just the right amount of three delicious sausages, accented by creamy mozzarella. Really a perfect pizza. Delicious ingredients, perfect balance, and melty soft in the center. Second visit: wondering what to get, and the table next to me had the Prosciutto e Funghi (which was loaded with prosciutto but not so much sauce), the Carbonara (which was an ocean of cream and egg - - it looked big time heavyweight - - and she could not finish it), and the Quattro Formaggi, which also looked loaded with cheese. I got the Quattro Formaggi, with the additional bacon. This pizza was indeed an ingredient bomb. A sea of cheese, so much so that it seemed to all blend together. Covered with strip after strip of bacon. Both pizzas were superbly crafted, using fine ingredients. The Alla Diavola was classic neapolitan, the proportions all perfect - - dreamworthy. The pizzas the second night were of another order - - huge quantities of ingredients, and extemely 'rich', which, I imagine, also satisfies a particular clientele, though for me, it's more brushstrokes of artistry that satisfy. Fantastic pizzeria. Top-drawer ingredients, creativity and art in production, great people & service, pleasant interior. It would be really hard for me to find a reason to eat anywhere else in Waterford.

The pizza was loaded with wonderful flavors and had a delicious crust. The chicken caesar salad was hearty but had less anchovie flavor than I'm used to. Still very enjoyable though!
